"In the building, there would be some strong candidates to replace him, notably VP of Football Operations and assistant GM Kevin Abrams. Outside the building, the organization will likely look at some candidates with a background in the New England scouting system more in-line with Judge’s thinking, along with others."
The Giants are broken. They should 100% be looking into the Ravens front office, Titans, etc. Limiting themselves to Abrams and someone who "knows" Judge. This is why we stink year after year.

Don't you all worry bout' this .. Mara will find a way to get Dave part II in here...he will be at least 68.756 years old. Still has that dusty rolodex from the 70s a few of them folks are still alive (and vertical).. ..Also a 4th cousin 2x removed from Mara so that will be an added bonus

In other news Mara didn't have the balls to be present at the Strahan ceremony.. Understandable since there were boos (not enough imo).. Stadium was nearly filled...oh well.... suckers will be suckers

The Gettleman fan club will point out water is not wet. Water can only make something else wet just as the players are bad and not Dave Gettleman.

Let me bring everyone back to the basics.
Replacing a GM is not progress. Replacing a HC is not progress. Replacing an OC or DC is not progress. It is not even a first step toward progress with the Giants and JM as "ceo".
It is just another illusion of progress. Next he gets to talk about accountability and how the team just wasn't performing the way it needed to and personnel wasn't chosen or coached up properly, yada yada yada.
JM doesn't know what this team needs as a GM or HC and that is why he continues to bungle every one of those decisions. He doesn't understand the sequencing of terminations. We are now set up to hiring a GM who doesn't get to pick his own HC. Won't that limit the pool of the best GM candidates? Of course it will but JM doesn't get that.
Even if true, DGs removal doesn't change a thing because the root cause of what ails us will still be there.

How nice of the Giants. They’re letting Gettleman choose his faith. One of the worst general managers in history, will get to walk out those doors on his own. No longer will we fire the men who don’t do the job, we’ll give him a gold watch and season tickets for life.
As for our next general manager. It’s Kevin Abrams job to lose, have to keep the nepotism alive and well. Or, a flunkie from the Patriots organization. When it has been proving time and time again. It’s Bill Belichick who makes all the decisions there. If his name isn’t Bill Belichick, I want no one from that organization.

I read this yesterday and almost threw up at the dinner table. If this is how it plays out then obviously Mara hasn’t learned a thing which isn’t the slightest bit surprising. I’m really starting to despise him. He’s either doing the same ole by hiring from within or trying to recreate what the hoodie has done with NE. If that’s the case, just give Judge GM capabilities as well and let him sink or swim. Mara is always trying to live in the past or trying to recreate something that is impossible. Jones isn’t Manning, Judge sure as hell isn’t BB, Abrams isn’t Accorsi and the Giants aren’t the Patriots. If Mara wants to be the Patriots so bad maybe he should replicate what Kraft has done as an owner and stay the hell out of football operations, as well as his family. It’s almost unbelievable, but not really, that Mara may be thinking of Abrams or someone from the Patriots not named Bill Belichick.

will be an emotional Dave Gettleman appreciation thread I can think of about 2-3 posters that would start that thread and still make excuses for him. I’ll show appreciation for him “retiring” and getting as far away from the Giants as possible.

The Titan have both in Ossenfort he has worked with the coach and has worked fro BB and now is with the Titans. We have a long way to go tho.

Just like trading Reese fro Gettlemen did nothing if DG is the only change chalk up 5 more years of nothing, Abrems might have his own idea's but he has been in this building to long to swing the ax, they need to go outside of this place and give them full control. Might not work but it can't get worse.

It will never happen no matter how hard you wish it so. Not true. People wished for Garrett to get canned. The Mara’s fold under fan pressure. Fans don’t get that, and they reward the Mara’s with optimism instead of outrage every time someone gets fired. That’s why we’re a breath away from our 5th HC in 6 years and our 3rd GM in 5. Fans get excited we we hire new people. The Mara’s respond. It’s why Mara wasn’t there for the Strahan ceremony. Even Goodell doesn’t shy away from the boos like John does.

Actually the Mara's very rarely fold to fan pressure. ELI.They were there for Strahan just not announced or spoke. This is a Family owed operation all fans know that .If you chose to be a Giants fan you live with it good or bad.

Fans are Fans we don't know anything that is really going on, just the score at the end of the game, even with knowledge of the game they don't know responsibilities of each player within the play and what routes are first through 4 as far as reads go. we don't even know the play called on offense or defense it is all guessing i wouldn't want anyone here picking the next GM sorry guys don't want Mara to either.
