Yes we stink. Yes we’ve endured 10 years of losing. But it’s worse than you think. We probably don’t have our QB. And we are in cap hell. It’s not bad enough that Dave has been a miserable failure, he has also booby trapped our future.
Remember that we had no cap room this past offseason? We didn’t. But Dave still signed two big free agents. How? He pushed their guaranteed money into future years. He banked everything on 2020. Golladay, Adore, Leo? All pushed huge guaranteed commitments to 21 and 22. So we suck AND have no cap room to improve. I believe there are only three teams in worse cap space than us for 2021. My God, he even deferred more money for Shepard next year to get under the cap right before camp…
now given all of this, who in there right mind would want to take over this mess? A mess that is doomed before it starts.
I’m telling all of you, the state of the New York Giants is very, very bleak.

Leo and Adore are legit big time players Adore the last 5 games before injury was our best corner hands down. it is one year 2022 we shouldn't be using the cap to build anyway thats how we got into this mess to start. they have a ton of draft capital and if the right guy is doing the drafting it should nullified the need to sign freeagents.

The people running the player evaluation process have shown they can't even put together 1 unit (The Oline). It's more than 10 years and they can't get that right let all the entire team. So money (all though very important) is not the main issue. John Mara, Chris Mara, Tim McDonnell and the entire player personnel and scouting dept have major problems. Without that fixed this team is screwed. Again the Oline is your tell tail sign. The evaluators can't evaluate.

Unfortunately for all involved not enough improvement I know they have a massive amount of injuries that I get it but just to many blue chip prospects have been passed up by this crew bottom line. And Trades when they shouldn't and don't trade when they should kind of things that get people fired.

Dave has miscalculated this team enough times to make it evident that he needs to retire. But before we simply pawn this mess off on Dave and believe all our problems will follow him out the door; we need to ask ourselves what happened to the idea that Dave was just a figurehead and Joe Judge was running this show?
What changed between then and now?
The state of this team is bleak, but I'd argue this team has been fragile for years - even as far back as the Coughlin years. Those we not great Giants teams. Those were mediocre teams with an uncanny quarterback that came together to enjoy great runs at the right time. But even then - the organization was unable to build upon those teams for continued success.
It's time for Mara to find someone to run this football team and that includes picking his head coach. Joe Judge felt like a great pick and who knows, maybe he will be a successful head coach in the future. But right now his words ring as hollow as the two previous coaches before him and he seems best suited for nice career in television.
Now back to the Giants this deja-vu all over again.

I actually think the last two drafts have been better with Judges influence. But as a HC he’s been awful. And I was as high on Judge as anyone. I honestly don’t know where we go from here. It’s so bad that just stopping the bleeding is all we can hope for….

Bette then the overpaid pack of quitters we had back in 2017, wether you hate the word or not culture matters and playing hard is part of that something that was missing for a long time around here. This is not saying changes don't need to be made just that new GM and if they do go coach won't have to deal with a room getting guys to two there job to the best of their abilities, they have a bunch of 2nd and 3rd team guys doing the best they can.

I agree except I don't know how much was Judge's influence verses guys working with Dave in the front office. But clearly the Giants have dropped the ball on the offensive side on so many levels.
The Saquon pick was a disaster. Who the hell knows about Jones except he can't be counted on to stay on the field. The Oline has been one of the worst in the league. Shepard and Slayton are basically useless, and right now the Golladay signing looks awful. And we need an upgrade at TE.
Top that off with the terrible decision to hire Jason Garret as the OC. And now we are left with Freddie Kitchens who looks more clueless with his play calling than Garret did.

We all thought the moves would help, even the talking heads said the Giants had done a nice job in getting Jones talent. . It tells me it's the same crap shoot that the Giants went through in the 60's and 70's and if we keep firing everyone and listen to the Mob we will be here forever .

I am not sure that cap hell is like it used to be but for me that is the least of our worries. We are not going to be good next year with all the money in the world.
Success will come from a few great drafts in a row. At that point we'll have some cash to acquire some finishing pieces.
Starting with one in a row will exceed my expectations.
...and our little "ceo" will dodge responsibility and give the fans an illusion of progress when he fires DG and brings in a replacement.
He will SAY that he bears responsibility but his actions will refute that he actually understands what responsibility requires of him. That is what lost little puppies do. When they don't know where to go, they just run faster in different directions to give the appearance that they are getting somewhere. They aren't.

I would also add that playing hard and disciplined play are not he same thing, and this is a very undisciplined team.

Ignoring the oline this past off season has done in another year..
A few of us knew this team would struggle again and unfortunately we were correct!!
Can they get a great pass rusher and some decent olinemen this off season??

I’ll go one step further.
The fan base is incredibly impatient for results. Rightfully so, but it’s a factor.
This ownership group has shown that it’s willing to whip people under the bus when it suits their purpose (The Reese firing. Spare me any “he deserved it” BS, he was fired because of the Eli thing, which ownership signed off on).
So you have a dumpster fire roster, a cap anchor around your neck, a QB issue, an impatient fan base that’s big and loud, and an ownership group that’s very comfortable canning people to take pressure off of them (see all the posts looking forward to the off-season).
I’ve been banging this drum for awhile.
Expecting a candidate that can fix this, in light of our ownership issues, is big mistake.

They can clear 45 million in cap by cutting certain players, Bradberry, Martinez, trading Barkley, etc. it’s not all doom and gloom, yet.

With that said I am relegated to the fact that I may never see another NYG SB victory or even an NFC Championship.

And the 2022 draft is loaded with guys who went back to school for an extra year of eligiibility. It is imperative the New GM nails draft and undrafted free agents and of course a new coach.

Right, and JR got fired, yet they cant bare to do the same for Gettlemen who hasn't done a thing. Pathetic.

we are in cap hell fro one year not like the last time where it took 2 or 3 just to clean up the books. And the 2022 draft is loaded with guys who went back to school for an extra year of eligiibility. It is imperative the New GM nails draft and undrafted free agents and of course a new coach. Exactly 2022 needs to be back building through the draft, I hate free agency you are paying guys that have 4 or 5 years of wear and tear, don't mind it for filling holes thats it tho.
