I know that this is a big concern, but New York Giants daily tweeted out a path. These guys were reacting to it and discussing it.
What say you?
Cliff notes
Cut James Bradberry. 21.8mil to keep him. 9.7mil to cut him. Saves 12.1mil Cut Blake Martinez. 14mil to keep him, 5.5mil to cut him. Saves 8.5mil Cut Sterling Shep. 12.5mil to keep him, 8mil to cut him. Saves 4.5mil Cut Kyle Rudolph saves 5mil Cut Riley Dixon saves 8.2mil Cut Devonte Booker saves 2mil

Basically we need to try another rebuild like we did in 2017-18 after the massive spending for 2016 when Reese tried to save his ass.
Get rid of any talent we can that costs too much. Swallow what we can't and eat the can that Gettleman was kicking down the road.
We need to have a lot of patience with our next GM. Unless he drafts a RB with our top 10 pick. Then I'm all for firing him.

Bradberry can be extended and have it absorb the capo hit and we may be able to convince Blake to redo his contract or be cut. No one is going to pay him 14mil after the ACL tear.

We don't need $42M in camp space. The goal isn't to outspend everyone in free agency every offseason.
Between Martinez and Bradberry, you could extend both and save enough money to fund the 2022 season. We'll save some more by cutting Shepard. A few moves could create enough operating room to sign draft picks and make a couple moves. I don't expect any big signings.

Some of those are doable. Some may not help when factoring in a replacement but what about KG? Are we going to kick that can down the road 1-2 years?

So on top of all the major needs we already have, we have to add CB1, MLB, TE RB2 and possibly a slot guy since Toney is made of wet tissue and glass.take up cap space Yeah...Gettleman really ****ed us and it's going to be a painful reset. We don't have a lot of choice. But, Bradberry CAN be extended to absorb some of that cap hit and Blake is coming off an ACL tear so MLB was probably going to be a need anyway. Rudolph does nothing but take up cap space and Booker is just 2mil of the 40mil so I would not have an issue keeping him. Toney has been a bust so far.

We haven't had a single season where it felt like we made any progress.

How can we extend Bradberry after redoing his contract twice this past year?
Not to mention he was a shell of what he was in 2020. We want to extend that?
Eh
Blake Martinez was a huge loss.

That is definitely something to consider. He's have a down year. He will be in the last year of his contract, so they could extend him and spread out that cap hit. Is he worth it though?

Let them play out their contracts and draft accordingly 2022 is it for both of them I believe and rudolph also probably Dixon to. none of them were extended just reworked take the pain for 1 year.

As I said they can free up more then that by just sitting on their hands for a year no dead money all come off the books and the cap is gonna go up. even Barkely will be coming off the books 2023 they should have plenty of money for me I hope they don't spend it only on our own and to fill whole s and depth second and 3rd tear guys.

KG Post 6-1 release 2022 Dead Cap: $13,400,000 2023 Dead Cap: $10,200,000 2022 Cap Savings: $7,750,000
Blake Post 6-1 release 2022 Dead Cap: $5,500,000 2023 Dead Cap: $0 2022 Cap Savings: $8,525,000
I think those are the 2 moves that you have to consider.

This is not the same as 2017 with some large contracts in the 4 and 5 year variety these are 2 and 3 year deals, ending next year let it go organically get all the money not just some and they all can still play.

With all of those cuts, we’ll be eating dead money for the next century. Now saying that, to fix this cluster **** of a team. Drastic changes must be done. Meaning, cut all the dead weight and high priced busboys. And start from scratch again..

We would barely miss him if he did not play. How can we have a guy like that taking up 21.5 mill in cap room in 22-23-24 ? Wouldn't it be better to admit our mistake and stop the bleeding?

We made a huge mistake, let’s not compound it with continuing to think he’s going to pan out. Unfortunately, our dopey GM backed the brinks truck for him. And cutting him will result in a $21 million cap hit.

So what do they spend 42mil on after cutting all these players? More overpriced FAs? Build or rebuild through the draft.
