Let the purge begin.. What stood out for me in the article is when Schoen stated “we will restructure existing contracts as a last resort.” Finally, a general manager that gets it. No longer will we jeopardize our future, to keep undervalued players. Restructuring has always been a temporary solution, that leads to long term problems. Good teams can do it, bad teams should stay as far away from it.

Releasing players or trading them away are inevitable moves to come. Schoen reiterated he will restructure existing contracts “as a last resort’’ because he is unwilling to weaken the Giants’ salary cap strength in future years. “Ultimately I’d like to build it through the draft and then reward our own,’’ Schoen said. I like that. Open to all trade talks too.

I really do not think this is as complicated as we make it. Looking at the top 8 highest paid guys. How many are healthy and worthy of their money? 3 of the 8? Maybe?
2022 Biggest Cap Number LW-27 mill JB-22 mill KG-21 mill AJ-15 mill BM-14 mill SS-14 mill LR- 12 mill
I would keep LW, AJ, and LR. The rest I would consider trading or cutting.
I really like Shep but will he be able to play?
KG would be easier to cut after next season but is there a reason to put it off past June 2nd if he is not really helping the team?

Kyle Rudolph sent packing
Giants cut the veteran TE. That along with Emgram out the door really opens up a need for a TE. Look long and hard at the 2022 class. Thinking we use a mid rounder.

I would try to restructure BM and keep either AJ or JB but all the others can go. If they draft Hamilton I would expect LR to be cut in June..

BM was very good in the past but in his games last season before his injury I was not as impressed. I think the big issue for BM and SS are will they be 100% or not.

I think AJ had a better season than Bradburry and he is also cheaper.

Restructuring is just a nice way of saying “I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today.” It works when you’re a few players away, and you want to keep your core guys. We’re so far off that we aren’t in the same stratosphere.

Watch out with this move Could be a target to bring in here Bills Releasing OL Jon Feliciano bit.ly/3KuKG97There's been a lot of talk among the beat writers about Feliciano's possible release. Could be a very realistic option at one of the Guard spots.

Watch out with this move Could be a target to bring in here ..is he any good ? Yes. Plays with tenacity and has an edge about him. This would be an immediate upgrade at either guard position. From what I can remember got injured and his replacement did a good job. Must be nice,

Could be a very realistic option at one of the Guard spots. I did some digging and he was solidly a starter. Got injured and just before he came back got covid--which actually kept him out longer. He was replaced by a guy named Bates , another mid round performer type who did well. Feliciano definitely plays with attitude but I guess he has trouble keeping weight ON. Anyway, Schoen and Daboll are both going to more much more about whether hes worthy of pursuing.
