I meant the beer jackass, not putting a gun in your mouth. Oh thank god for the clarification, I’ll stop crying and put the gun away. You probably won't.

I personally think that this is a horrible idea by the Giants and has John Mara written all over it. However, I'm not going to pout and cry about me not getting my way. I hope that it all works out and that we can build a Super Bowl winner going against every single current trend on how that is done. Let's go Giants. Jeez I hope not. That was one of he thoughts going through my head when I read the breaking news.. That MF(er) cannot help himself not to interfere. He is the cause of the 10 year suck that we are in. Hope I'm wrong

You gonna go kick your dog now? Nope, I’ll just watch the Giants continue to be mediocre with the rest of you. Happy for you, Gunner and Kerry though, now you guys can get back to your circle jerk without having to worry about what the Giants would do with Jones. only 82 mil guaranteed. Over 4 years thats not much. Come on vinnie....its a good deal. !!! I guess its never a good deal if you didnt want him either way

Now I'm confused. $82m first 2 years $19m year 1 Does that mean a $63m cap hit in 2024?

1st year cap hit at 19m is good for the team

Nice, so $19M for Jones and $10M for Barkley leaves about $26M in Cap space without any other movement.

As they say the devil's in the details so lets see what the actual contract details.. From what little I have read this deal had less of a cap hit than franchise tagging him, so that is on the plus side. It could also be a tradeable contract in the next year or so if the league QB contract numbers continue to rise and he continues his high-end backup qb play he could be seen as a viable (cheaper) alternative at that point

This was all expected, even better then I expected if they can get out after 2 years if Jones doesn’t improve and if he does then we have him for 4 years.

Am sure they do. What the whole world is now waiting for is how much cap room of the 45 mill left do they have to work with. Free agency starts soon so they better get that straightened out quickly. I can't say anything for sure but my guess is that things will look like this cap hit wise in 2023 DJ: 18-20 Barkley: 7-10 That puts them at a combined 25-30 which is very nice since we have over $50 in cap room. We were never going to build a contender in Unrestricted FA. UFA are almost always overpriced. We will use it but teams have to build through the draft. Understood but there are key positions that we can't sit back and wait for later positioned draft picks to learn since our best pick is #25 of the 1st round. Need some key free agents in this free agency period.

So, Schoen negotiated a huge cap/dead money hit in 2025 to be able to spend $13 million this year. Really hope this works out. If not, the Giants will be paying $25+ million for a QB to not play in 3 years. 19 + 10 is the cap hit thus far. That leaves them 26 mill for free agency and draft picks.

Nice, so $19M for Jones and $10M for Barkley leaves about $26M in Cap space without any other movement. #saluteSchoen I'm guessing about a $40MM bonus spread over 4 years. That's $10MM per year. Looks like $9MM in salary in 2023 and probably closer to $30MM the second.

Only # I care about for now is 19 million this year for Jones, 10 million if nothing changes for Barkley. 26 million to spend in free agency and for the draft picks. Worry about next year then lol.

Isn't that what we ALL wanted?

I am happy DJ and SB remain on the team. I hope it produces Rings. We all do. He got paid like the player he was vs Minnesota. Once the smoke settles on this contract, Ill have my final say. I think we spent too much for his talents, but the details will say a lot. So far I see Year 1 - $19M
