Excuse me? Against?! I’ll probably do my usual twice a year “emotional” bet when we play them. Depending on how I’m doing that week, anywhere between $250-500 ON the turds to win because a) I really do think they’ll win and cover and b) I would happily lose $250-500 if the Giants win. When I get really pissed, but rarely happens, is if the turds win but don’t cover, then I’ll lose my shit. Can’t bet with emotions (which I rarely do) which that bet actually isn’t because I do think they girls will win. I’ve bet against the Giants much more often over the past 5-6 years but I have NEVER bet enough where I would hope they lose. Last year hurt a bit at first but I made up for it in the end when they only won 4 of their last 11. Overall, betting against them has been quite profitable for me unfortunately. The smart money will be on Dallas. Their considered a better team, 3rd strongest team in the NFC. I was told this as a young man. If you want to root for your team then root with them with all your heart. Do not put money on a team because of your heart and you want to root for them . Leave your heart at home once you put money on a team now it's business. You already realize this by betting against the team you love. Making money very seldom has anything to do with what you want to happen. That's why I'm considered a smart better and really don't bet at all lol. I look at all things considered and don't bet on hopes. Then jokas get mad when I don't give them a rematch bet so to speak the next time around depending on the circumstances and even if they are betting on the very next game or opponent we play. You won't catch me betting on hopes lol. Also why I can't and won't do fantasy fb. I don't want other players to have good numbers vs us I just won't do it lol. It makes absolutely no sense to root for players or teams to have good games vs us. I want us to blow everyone out and make them look bad every time out lmao...........

The only thing that will slow this Giants offense down is if the OL can't give adequate time that has held this offense back more than anything the last 4 or 5 year. If they grow into a really good Pass protecting unit and decent run blocking they re gonna score and score a lot. yup and I bet you will see teams that play us have a lot of holding calls to try and impede and slow down the receiver that's making them shake in their boots and/or running right pass them lol............

He was clean the rest of the way from what I saw. Correct but the haters have their darts ready if perfection isn’t accomplished - it’s pretty lame. Yup he just like any other young player at a position with a steep learning curve is working hard and developing he will be fine all players develop differently Neal is a hard worker and not a quitter he will get this done.

Thought I heard Schoen in his tv interview Friday say that adding Davenport makes the offensive line the Giants best unit. Did anyone else hear him say that? Was he speaking about the Giants DBs?

And if you put your most athletic LB on Waller, Saquon is gonna eat Thats a scary duo if they pay to much attention there the Campbell or Slayton will get them Barkley in the flat, Hyatt taking the top off the defense, etc

Exactly! 1986 NFC Championship game was the greatest sport event I ever attended. Pure magic! My son and I attended 1990. I wish it had been 1986... that one was pure magic, and Simms was a Maesitro. But the patriotism was fabulous at '90, during Desert Storm, and Whitney singing the Star Spangled Banner will never be beat. We were standing at rail at field level on the right side of the goal line Norwood missed on. Couldn't tell if the ball was in or out as it passed the post until I turned and saw the Giany players jumping up and down on the firled. No doubt the BEST Star Spangled Banner singing ever! That is awesome you were there!

And if you put your most athletic LB on Waller, Saquon is gonna eat Gunner these 2 playing off one another are going to be 7-15 yd completions all game long. It will open the run game for Saquon. Especially if EZE or someone could be a force at Guard. His runs will open things up in play action. I feel I might have been wrong in my assessment of our passing game it could be much stronger than I thought. DJ was playing pitch and catch to all of our receivers. I don't want to get ahead of my skies but I think we seen a microism of our 2023 offense on that 1st drive.

I don’t know why you would logically but I’d wish you the best of luck and hope you’d win. Thats the problem I would bet with my heart not logic actually I probably would not bet on the Giants because of that. That is/was a pretty much rule of thumb for me. Though my heart did win the argument with my brain a few times.

Though my heart did win the argument with my brain a few times. In all my "pick the winner with no points" pools, I always go with the Giants, 100% of the time. And I always finish 5 or 6 wins off the lead. I am what's known as dumb money.....fortunately those pools are just a few bucks like $100 for the full year. When betting real money, I never, ever, ever bet on Giants games, in either direction.

Back to the thread title, I am excited about the talent Schoen has assembled and prospects for a really good season. We'll know quickly how far this team can go.

Back to the thread title, I am excited about the talent Schoen has assembled and prospects for a really good season. We'll know quickly how far this team can go. Not necessarily. Sometimes a lot of new parts take a while to mesh and play their best. I'll draw analogy to Pierce coming to us in 2007. He was new to the D. He was the signal caller for the defense and he was excellent in that job. The D gave up 45 and then 35 and didn't look good, and then they had a fantastic goal line stand against the Skins in game 3 and suddenly they were gelling. We have a lot of new pieces on defense, especially at LB and the DB's, with a few rooks and 2nd year men. Also have a lot of new parts at WR with pieces at Center, RT and both guard spots that we are hoping will work. Depth at OL appears to be slim. Tough beginning schedule and travelling. I'll be happy at a 3-3 start. So, we might not know too quickly. But, I think we can finish 7-4 in the final 11. Maybe 8-3 if we can split with the Eagles. They might be 2 epic games with them at the end of the season... with maybe a 3rd meeting in the playoffs. Right now they're where we want to be. I think we're gaining. 10-7 with lots of new parts, tougher schedule, and 2nd season in Daboll's system... Growing pains, but the light looks to be getting brighter at end of the year, with a whole lot of optimism going into 2024.

That Skins game was at a point in the season where we could have gone either way. I wasn't thinking game 1 we know what we've got. I was thinking that by the Bills game we have a good idea. I am not thinking about a team that makes the playoffs in week 16. I am thinking this could be a team that powers its way and challenges for a division title. That won't come late in the season.

With the Giants having a good pass rush., and speedsters at DB's-opponent receivers have lass time to to make more than one move. As a result, Giants inexperienced DBs have less to adjust to. The Giants defense will make more interceptions and pass deflections than last season. In two pre-season games the Giants new rooks stayed with the receivers and limited them to just one move, and made a lot of plays. . The Giants offense has mostly veterans receivers with speed, and a QB who can throw passes with accuracy. That's a lethal combination.

As a life long Giants fan at 45 years old I tend to be very stoic in my feelings and expectations of things, especially the Giants. But going into this year is this most excited about a Giants team I have been since the 2008 year. Daboll and Schoen have this team going in the right direction.

Darren Waller even makes Daniel Jones look good. You should start giving Jones some credit. Some of you fine folks take yourselves way too seriously.

Phils career started really rough for the first 4 years largely because the team was bad.

Has anyone commented on the new stadium field now that we got to see it?
The ny logo wasn’t as impressive as I would have thought. Perhaps it’s because it’s a bit transparent. Or maybe it’s because our guys lined up in the neutral zone 3 times while on top of it?

He is not the same player he was entering the season last year. His decision making, pocket awareness, and mobility has undoubtedly improved.

After last season I expect him to improve and refine his game. There is no "hope" involved at all.

Like the logo on the helmet or like in the end zone on either side of the GIANTS logo. It needs to be colored better and more bold.

It looks like the NFL wants a standardized branding for all 32 teams, there's nothing unique for any team anymore it seems. Bring back the Meadowlands logo at the 50.

Stop playing clueless. Not sure what you're looking for. Do I think Daniel Jones can be a good player?.....Yes I do. Do I think he's a proven NFL star?.....Not even close. So I am cautiously optimistic this year that he can at least be more productive. He can't run like he did last year. That will get him killed. He must do it with his arm. He hasn't yet shown that he can do that at a high level. My hope is that with better weapons, he can take a large step forward this year.
