To me there is no wrong pick Odunze is a little bigger at 6'3" 215lbs to Nabors at 6"even 200lbs. Odunze a fraction faster 4.37 to 4.4 does that even make a difference ? They are so even in numbers. Which one would fit better in our offense. They both have real good hands. Would Odunze be a better target in the red zone or from inside the 10 yd line being he is taller 6'3" to 6' foot ? I'm not seeing any difference. Does Nabors get a nod because he played in the SEC ? Rather than Odunze playing in the PAC 10 ? I didn't vote one over the other. Giants will typically draft SEC guys in the first round. That's fine I think most people feel the SEC is supposedly the toughest conference in college football. The last WR we drafted from LSU with our 1st rd pick turned out to be the greatest WR in NY Giant history while he was here.

I don't know what Nabers will be, but there are plenty of examples of great WR's making average QB's look better. DeAndre Hopkins has built a HOF caliber career playing with them. Terry McLaurin has been making garbage QB's in Washington look better his whole career. Hurts has been accused of being a product of his WR's. There may even be some truth to some fans claims that Beckham helped extend Eli's career. But I would expect plans to improve our QB and OL next year, I wouldn't dismiss a quality WR because of our current state. Whoever the QB will be, a top WR can absolutely help the situation. Allen and digs took off together as well. DJ Moore started making Fields look like a better passer. Garrett Wilson could not save Zach Wilson but maybe that just means Garrett is over hyped Maybe. But I would attribute that mostly to Zach Wilson being just a historically bad QB.

With Rodgers, look for Wilson to easily be a 1500+ guy. His tape is top 5. Even top 3. Open all day with no on hitting him

I know nothing about college football players. And I think no one in the NFL knows much more about how they will succeed after the draft. It's a lottery.
NFL history is littered with horrible draft calls. I'm not criticizing the drafters. I'm saying it's impossible to know how a college player will succeed in the NFL .
Many here loved drafting Toney. Go figure.
I think drafts are ruined more by injury than incompetence. Just MO.

I do not believe we are going WR at 6. I could be wrong, and we get our Diggs to receive passes from Jones and the OL we have. I believe it would be a mistake to not do QB ....or plug and plays on the OL, Diggs was the final piece for the Bills. When that wasn't enough, Von Miller was that final piece. Puzzles become easier when you have the LOS won and a QB's confidence. Barkley was not the final piece at 2, and a WR will not be the final piece at 6. We need a QB, although I sense we are rolling with Jones and Barkley...but 2 quality pieces to the OL. We have weapons....they get open. Jones misses them, or he's got 1 second to bail out. I have to agree to disagree.

If they dont like the QBs in this draft, they cant force it though. And if they dont, they should go BPA which very well could be a WR. It will suck, but there is a very good chance we roll out DJ/DeVito/(Journeyman Vet/ Late round project) again in 2024 due to the cap hit DJ is swallowing. If thats the case, keep building around the limited QBs we have now and strike in 2025. We arent going to be that good in 2024 anyway. We should already know this. They can not force a QB they are iffy about this year just because they know they screwed up with DJs contract. Part of my thinking on this matter has to do with them drafting receivers early in the draft for the past 3 consecutive seasons already. I just feel like Robinson and Hyatt are both keepers that would crush it with a QB that actually knows what they're doing. I get your concerns about possibly reaching. I'm just willing to do whatever it takes to get that QB situation straightened out by all means necessary. I want the team to grow some balls and trade up like they need to. Give a team an offer that they cannot refuse. Daboll and Schoen better do what they have to, mainly because putting your job on the line believing in 8 will have them updating their resumes. I can't believe we're talking wide receivers at 6...and yeah, agreed...we have a lot more talent catching the ball than is being shown. I'd say thats an OL issue, and a QB issue.

Ehhh....maybe. I've actually thought the same thing. Particularly with Odunze. His strength is going deep, and DJ has never been one to consistently push the ball down the field. I think this is one reason why Odunze has slipped a bit on my mental big board.
Still, having good WRs can only help. Especially WRs like Nabers who, based on what I've seen, looks to be completely versatile.
Also, if we're lucky enough to land our next QB this year, or next, it'd be nice to have a presumed WR1 in place.
"Nah they 10's.....but they nice though"

For sure. It's a crap shoot, but similar to the way RBs have been for most of our lives, WRs have seemingly become the new "dime a dozen" position. There's a swarm of NFL caliber WRs declaring for the draft every single year and, in my opinion, it's one of the easier positions to scout on the field. Perhaps the easiest. When it comes to off the field, that's where I trust the FO to do their due diligence. Unfortunately our FO failed us with Toney. As talented as he is with the ball in his hand, and there's no denying he is talented, the dude is a bum off the field.

Not happy about having to go that route again but the two they currently have are too injury prone with one sucking bad.

Nabers will have an OBJ like impact I believe. Odunze is less of a real deal but he could turn out to be a great WR too. Maybe more like a Hakeem Nicks. Like them both. If given the opportunity I would love to get Marvin though. He will be the next elite WR in the game. Our AJ Brown or Ceedee Lamb. Interesting. I see Nabers as more of the Hakeem guy. Not a blazer but quick and fast enough to hit home runs after the catch. Plus Hakeem was 6ft like Nabers and won the majority of jump balls. Also, I was impressed with some of the catches he made between the seams. Nicks was fearless like that (to the detriment of his career). I don't know if either of these guys are as good but pound for pound Nicks was one of the better ones I've seen. If either is Nicks 2.0 sign me up but I'm betting the guy is Nabers to be that guy.

From what I've seen Nabers looks incredible after the catch. Rome looks very good at the point of catch.
Both could be great but as has been said by several already, definitely fair to question if taking them at 6 is the best course with current QB situation.

Then they rationalized the pick after reading up that Judge leaped for joy when Toney was there and some other coach (forgot the name, the former college great who flamed out in the NFL) was kicking himself .

I liked the draft more after then when it occurred. His skill set is/was undeniable. With that said the rest is history and much like OBJ he is his own worst enemy. He himself creates all the drama. He needs to look no further than the mirror to assign blame.

Agreed. I have zero issue going OL in Rd1, especially if we trade back, but we need to do a better job drafting on day-2 and day-3. And to reiterate, I'm not saying we need to go with Nabers or Odunze at #6. I'm just curious to know who everyone prefers between the two.
Along those lines, this draft looks to be very deep at OL, WR, DL, and DB, which happen to be our biggest needs outside of QB. If we don't go with a certain position in Rd1 it doesn't mean there won't be talent later in this draft. I don't know if it's because of the COVID rules, but this appears to be one of the deeper drafts in recent memory.

How bout' QB? crazy idea I know...... Nite the top QB's are going to be gone at #6. How much are you willing to give up to move up ? Plus the first 3 teams need a QB as desperately as us. Are we going to draft a 2nd tier QB when there are a bunch of other players significantly better ? I know your frustrated Nite, we all are. Just don't know where the QB is coming from.

In addition to drafting 3 receivers early the past 3 years, we also have 3 starting olinemen drafted in the first two rounds. They've tried a ton to help this QB room out. IMO, until they get this QB position squared away, they will be screwed from the jump. They must go all in.

Easy answer - Rome 7 days a week twice on Sunday’s
He’s bigger - faster - great hands - great character - great work ethic - role model kinda guy.
The love for Malik proves one thing but I won’t be insulting to his supporters.
Nabors looked uninterested in running routes and blocking in the bowl game. He had 3 catches for 23 yards vs Wisconsin DB’s.
You want an LSU WR - take Brian Thomas Jr. after you trade back a bit in the first. Same bowl game Thomas had 8 catches 98 yards 2 TD’s.
The only guy I want that catches the ball at #6 is Brock Bowers. He will be more dynamic and helpful to Jones than either Rome or Malik. Take a guy like Leggett in the second if we go QB or OL in the first.
Nabors will be another Route Tree Reuben Randle - little hit or big miss depending on how you look at it.
Thus the Giants will probably draft Nabors 🥱

I can't make up my mind with Maye. He's been the least impressive of the big-3 but he has all the tools to be a successful pro, and he may have the least amount of NFL talent to work with.
You're right though. There's a lot of time between now and the draft for stocks to rise and fall, and teams could always surprise us with who they pick. I wouldn't be completely shocked if teams passed on Daniels due to his size and style of play, and I could see teams like the Bears and/or Patriots picking a non-QB. It's definitely going to be interesting.

With that assessment, there's no way we don't land Nabers
I didn't notice the bowl game, but it's something to keep an eye on. Nobody wants a diva, and we need WRs who are willing and able blockers. The Randle comparison seems like a stretch, though. I don't see any similarities in their game.
In terms of Bowers, how is he at blocking? He looks a bit undersized but he continues to be mocked high. Not to say he can't, but over the years I've completely lost interest in TEs who can't block at a high level. I'd much rather have a blocking TE with sure hands who can move the chains when needed.

He's a fantastic blocker. As good as you can get. Still don't think it's worth a top pick IMO
