Shaun O'Hara on Odunze: "I know the Giants are drooling over this guy...if he's there at 6, I don't see any way they pass him up." “He may have leap-frogged Marvin Harrison," O'Hara said. "With what Rome Odunze did in the drills, in all the testing, the jumps, the running, I thought he was phenomenal. I think he showed that he is just as smooth as any other receiver out there.” www.si.com/nfl/giants/draft/giants-reportedly-eyeing-rome-odunze-at-no-6-claims-former-giant

These are two blue chip prospects in my opinion. I would prefer Nabers but if we walk out with either our offence instantly improves.

I see him listed as 6' even some places and 6'1" others. Either way I don't think it changes the general conversation. Probably not. Though if the Giants said they went with Nabers instead of Odunze because of their lack of success drafting WRs over 6' in the past... Could you imagine.
Odunze has sold me with his personality. He does not seem cocky but confident and still somehow humble.

This time of year is crazy.

I’ve actually heard good things about Nabers personality as well. I can’t confirm, but I heard he’s a hard worker, not the typical cocky WR, etc. Just loves to play football.

people.com/sports/malik-nabers-lsu-arrested-illegally-carrying-weapon/Haven't heard this one from the media...but Nabers was arrested on a gun charge for carrying a gun illegally at Marti Gras. Similar decision derailed Plaxico's career. Nabers didn't sound very enthused about headed to NY in an interview. Now rumors he is high maintenance. After Toney's gun charges pre-draft..this would cause me to pause and dig deeper if I'm the front office.

If the Giants can not get the QB they want, they need to desperately trade back and acquire picks….Nabers and the gun is an easy off the board in any round decision.

I agree but I think Giants go QB at 6. McCarthy or Penix or Maye should be available. I’m not sold on Maye though. Trade back a bit and get Bowers follow that up with a WR in round 2. Weapons for DJ. Michael Pratt would be a solid QB selection in the 3rd. WR hot shots should last until mid round 2. If their QB of choice is not available at 6 a trade back would be wise if they can pull it off.

I prefer Odunze anyways because I think we need a true X and it seems like Nabers played more slot, we have enough of those guys. To your point though, I agree, there are several little things that have been coming out about Nabers that are red flags for me, I’d pass on him if Odunze is there. I said the same thing about Toney and caught some shit about it “over reacting, just a kid, he’ll be fine” blah blah blah. I doubt Nabers will be the next Baker or Toney, they’re hard to top, but I wouldn’t risk the 6th overall pick on him if one of the other top WR’s are there.

This reminds me of that Bill Burr's lotion/register gun skit. If you have 5 minutes and want a laugh, here you go:
In terms of the charge, it's concerning but we're in the window where teams/media will dig up any and every little thing on players in order to alter their draft stock. Beyond this charge, the only thing I've heard about Nabers off the field is that he lives and breathes football. A rare non-diva WR who's a complete workaholic.
At this point, I'd take anything you hear from the media with a grain of salt.

Lol, love Bill but think he’s gotten pretty soft since he had his kid. It’s shitty footage but hopefully you’ve seen his rant about Philly when he’s doing a show there, classic! He talks so much shit to the Philthy crowd and about the city that they eventually start cheering him, lol. It’s all impromptu.

100%. The first time I saw Bill online I got sucked into a YouTube warp for like two hours. Think I've seen most of his jokes via YouTube shorts. He's absolutely hilarious.

They are both decent receivers however I like the idea of our number 1 having a height advantage over most CBs. That's why I would go for Odunze.

Depends who our QB is...
Nabers is better for DJ
Odunze is better for Lock
Personally, I'd prefer Odunze, but I'd be happy with either

The Giants have been scorched twice by knuckleheads in the first round very recently.
If both players are super talented, it’s a no brainer to take the guy with the better character profile.

I waffle back and forth on them from a pure talent perspective, but prefer Odunze's mental make up, that could be the deciding factor.

I want to like Nabers more because he is more explosive but as of now I'd take Odunze. It's not like Odunze is slow, won a state title in track (200m) and ran a 4.45...runs a good route too.
I wouldn't take Nabers off the board from what I know about the Marti Gras incident and rumors of being high maintenance. I'd still draft Nabers if he is available and Odunze isn't. Would have been nice if Nabers had a better response to the rumors. Seems like there is a much higher chance of Nabers turning into a headache...and no chance of that with Odunze.

Found the full clip of Nabers commenting on the NYG - it was more of a setup by Josina Anderson more than anything. The way she framed the question with negativity around the NYG and the QB - saying the NYG don't know who the QB is etc is why Nabers answered the way he did. As usual the media took the answer out of context.
In other interviews Nabers seemed happy to work with the NYG and have dinner with Daboll, Schoen,, etc.
Josina was the interviewer of Odell with Lil'Wayne when Odell was trashing the team. She's been causing trouble around the NYG for a while.
EDIT: ==== Which makes me think...do players use Josina as a tool to get their thoughts out in a way it looks like they are just answering questions? Who knows...but kind of seems like it. Definitely was the case with Odell and Lil'Wayne.
