Yes he was. Was due $24m this year. Pretty nice contract for him. He's paid like one of the best pass rushers in the league, better perform like it. Seems like it gave us a little leverage in the trade value. Since we had to pay him QB money lol. I don't know of him and knew he was good but since he played on the Panthers never really paid attention to him. My first thoughts are he is like a Justin Tuck type DE? Which would be great. I would say Osi type.

Our current front 7: LDE: A’Shawn Robinson NT: Dexter Lawrence RDE: Jihad Ward WLB: Brian Burns WILB: Bobby Okereke RILB: Micah McFadden SLB: Kayvon Thibodeaux The front 7 looks a lot better, the only question is if Schoen tries to upgrade the Dline (Ward/Robinson)? Imagine Schoen takes T'Vondre Sweat (who’s 6’4 366lbs) in the 2nd round, would teams be able to run the ball against Sweat and Lawrence. Lol.

Was Burns going to be a FA or was he under contract? Under contract but he wanted out. According to Panther fans, he dogged it at times last year.

So, does this mean NYG has him under contract for 5 or extended to 6 years?

Who's better Josh Allen (DE) or Brian Burns? Funny enough Giants could have had either in 2019 at 6th, but they took Dan Jones Which one plays better in a wide-9 scheme?

Guys,
This guy is a friggin monster. It's like Aaron Donald joining our team....in his prime. He was lost in Carolina. A great player on a poor defense.
I can't tell you how huge I think this guy is to our team. He will be all over the field.

Could be quite a tandem.

I think we are probably in line for WR or QB as of now.

How come we didnt franchise then trade McKinney similar to this? Seems like we could have gotten some good compensation for him with the teams that were bidding for him.

Free agency: Pay elite money for great players. Pay great money for good players. Pay good money for average players. That’s the way it’s always been.

Am I seeing this correct. We are paying an 8 sack 50 tackle player 30 million a year. Yeah, ya gotta look a little deeper than just surface level numbers like that. Kayvon had 11.5 sacks last year. I like Kayvon's longterm outlook but there is not a single GM in the league that would take Kayvon over Burns. He didn't get close to the number of chances to rush the passer as other top EDGEs playing for the worst team in the league. He's generated pressure consistently since coming into the league. But if you do want surface level numbers, those look pretty good too: Defenders with 46+ sacks and 59+ TFL since 2019: Nick Bosa Maxx Crosby Aaron Donald Myles Garrett T.J. Watt Brian Burns

Thankful Joe was restrained in this regard
