I think over the past 10 years, the only solid OL piece we drafted was Andrew Thomas. Seriously. Pugh was ok I guess. Maybe we are like 1.5 out of 10-12 players picked. Not good.

It took a while but the Jets signed him. And the reason it took a while was due to injury concerns. Would you rather have an old Tyron or a young Neal? He's probably still better than Neal not even a question Tyron is better the question is do you quit on Neal he was on many boards #1 through 3 talent in his draft including the Cowboys had him #1 in the draft who don't miss much on OL. Neals issue is he gets hurt watch some film he is noticeably limping you can't keep up with these Edge guys with a bad wheel he has had it twice and has now had the surgery, when healthy he has some good film his issue is consistency.

Word is still out on JMS. If he improves from his rookie year, which is not unreasonable to expect, he'll be decent enough.

Thats what worried me about him in college. Our center needs to be a mauler. Punch you in the face and push you back.

I actually heard an interview with Geoff Schwartz the other day, on the radio, and he was saying how when the Giants signed him to his contract he was shocked. He looked at it as a challenge because he said, he wasnt eh type of OL the Giants used well. We had smaller guys who the Giants used better than the big guys. Schwartz was 6'6" 340lbs. He openly admitted he was played differently than he was being played in KC and it really effected him.
I wonder if this could still be a problem with a lot of our linemen? You saw what Feliciano did here and then SF. Others too. Maybe our player development and analysis on the OL is just way off the wall. I dont know. But for it to be this bad for this long and miss on so many players, something weird is going on.

Schoen didn’t get his scouts and all fo personnel in place before his first draft (neal, ezeudu, mckethan, etc). So, it’s hard to say how much our draft board was or wasn’t impacted. Going forward, including last year’s draft, should all be aligned and not have people from the previous regimes that schoen wasnt wanting to keep. That said, hopefully things change going forward

Sine when do we have to "approach" a linemen about playing anything? It's a either or , either you try it or you don't play. and to add why does the team announce it? Technically, they can't discuss anything football related directly to him, until camp starts. If they did, and he probably didn't receive that well, he likely has a players' union greivence. JFC

JFC It does sound ridiculous, but evidently caches are very wary of breaking this rule, even for discussions that would be more pleasant and productive for the player. I was upset that our new line coach can't work with him (and the entire, actually) ASAP for evaluation and decision making before official camp.

At least everyone has to admit that whether it works or not the O line is being addressed by Schoen. even DG addressed the OL. It just never worked out. The Giants have been terying to get this done for over a decade. Lack of success for sure but never really a lack of trying That was the only reason i didn't mind Gettlemen in teh beginning he did well drafting OL in Carolina and he was better helping scout Guys like Diehl. He had a good rep fro drafting and when in propersonel finding good freeagent OLs. Reese tried Gettlemen tried and now it's schoens turn

We have to see how this bracillo signing works out I will say this tho Feliciano was a first time center also had a tragedy early to deal with his young nephew drowned during later part of camp right before the season. By game six he was above average by game nine he was a really good center.

I hope Neal considers this without issue. This OL could rapidly ascend if it clicks for him back over on the left side next to our stud LT. The new RT should slide right in where he has been playing well for Bricillo.

Has anyone seen any film of Neal at LG? I just tried looking on the Google and couldn’t find a thing. Everything was from sophomore season on.
