Don't get me wrong, he looks solid. But he really needs to get in the weight room and gain some mass. He looks way too small and fragile to play QB in the NFL for a sustained period of time. I don't recall seeing a guy with his size having success in the modern NFL. Even shorter QBs like Wilson, Brees, Garropolo, etc have sturdy bodies. Hopefully an NFL lifting program does it for Lauletta.

When I was at practice, he looked noticeably smaller than Eli and Webb ... not just in height but in frame too....

Just sayin, I've never heard any complaints about Eli's build, or lack of. Doubt Eli can bench 225 5x, more like 2 if that.

I thought most don't do it at the combine (could be wrong)..? For the same reason a lot of baseball pitchers avoid benching. Either way, just go to google images and compare pictures of Eli and Lauletta. Eli has a much bigger frame and bigger arms, etc. |

It was officially a 10 yard TD run but he was back near 18/20 when he decided to tuck it and run.. |

Arm strength comes from the legs and throwing motion. It's all about the technique. Some QB's are just born with it. |

He just needs to add some muscle to his frame as it looks like there is plenty of room for it. He will still maintain a lean build and will stay maintain his agility. Also, I played D1 college baseball and the pitchers were in the weight room with us every day. Don't know what you're talking about. They just avoid the flat bench press to prevent shoulder issues. They're still lifting a ton of weight in other exercises. |

Adding muscle to the right areas absolutely increases arm strength. If you just stand there doing bicep curls, then yes, you won't increase arm strength. |

I don't know if the size comparison is accurate, but he kind of seems about Jeff Garcia size. Garcia was no slouch.

Every pro athlete should be doing some form of weight training, regardless of their position on the team. Gotta raise the BS Flag on those that think a QB is exempt from that.

Let's see if he can prove himself as the #3 or challenge for Webb for #2 if he does... then they can work him on a program. It was amazing to see a Giants QB run with the football and score... a dimension that seems to have never existed.

Weights can cause problems. Noah Syndergaard tore a lat last season while pitching . Weight lifting was directly responsible for the injury. What was explained by the a orthopedic specialist Mike Francesa had on. What he said was, when you weight train your muscles get accustomed to those exercises and motions. Then when asked to throw . It is a completely different motion and force placed upon mussels . Sometimes the muscles used in that new morion do not like it and tare. That's what he basically said. It is not just shoulders and arms in throwing. It is your whole body that is involved in the act. |

This goes all the way back to the last qb that wore number 17 for us.. I distinctly remember Brown being jacked up muscle wise Lead to his very bad mechanics causes by his muscle mass compromising his motion, a huddle hitch in his.delivery which lead to an absurdly long delivery and often a shot put style throwing motion McNabb and Culpeper ruined their careers by putting on more upper body muscle..McNab was very accurate early before this,his motion got messed up and became the king of worm burners. And this was the reason Tebow had no shot in the NFL,he was built like a power lifter. Your best QBs have dad bods |

I think Lauletta looks small because he runs out straight after Webb has been out there. Webb is a big dude, and looks like he wears the worlds largest shoulder pads, so when Lauletta rolls out immediately after it makes a striking comparison.
So far I think Lauletta has looked like a pro QB, maybe not a starter but the guy should have career.

Shoulder press, and the proper arm exercises can definitely increase throwing power, raw arm strength. Not about adding bulk cosmetic muscle, but about creating tough functional quick twitch muscle and sinew, even strengthens your bones and connective tissues. |

Bulking up just for the sake of size is ridiculous for a QB. Its all about technique, strength and flexibility. Besides holding a clip board and running the scout team is not all that strenuous....lol
