Just because he wants to be doesn't mean he is going to be. That's so much money!

Just because he wants to be doesn't mean he is going to be. That's so much money! for a guy who is a good player but not elite. I will take Byron Jones get more coverage and get sacks that way.

Using us to possibly drum up money from Jerruh I would rather pay Quinn for 2 or 3 years not 20 but something reasonable. When I saw him play for Dallas he looked like he was shot out of a cannon coming off the edge. They can have Clowney I will take Quinn less money and less years.

Everyone wants to be your friend or in the NFL circles play for you when you have over $70 million in cap space. As for Clowney, he might not be a popular player on these boards, but I can say for certain some team, dumb mind you will pay him. And it will involve a lot of zeros at the end of his contract. Yannick wants to play for the Giants as well. And it’s not because of the cool jerseys.
I remember on the old boards he was a can’t miss player.. By many fans. Goes to show you, some players as great as they are in College don’t live up to the high expectations they receive before they step foot on the field.

He has never had double digit sacks. His career average is 5 sacks a season. At 23 million that is 4.6 million per sack a season
He has had 3844 career snaps and 32 sacks or 120 snaps per sack
Oshane Ximines 503 career snaps 4.5 sacks or 112 snaps per sack. At $827,195 that is 184 thousand per sack a season.

Rather re-sign Golden for 12 a year than Clowney for 20. Golden got more sacks last year than Clowney has ever gotten. I don't mind another 10 sack guy but not for 20 mil.

Come on Jerruh....give this complementary piece 22 million a year...do it... And 65% of it guarenteed

Lesson learned after paying OV
It's not my money and I would still not spend it on Clowney
If he can cut a deal for that kind of money all the power to him
I would be amazed to see a team even come close to it

32 career sacks in 75 career games he's played in. In 6 seasons has only played in 16 games once. He had 9.5 sacks that year. 236 tackles (solo & assisted) in 75 career games = 3.15 tackles per game. He appeared in 13 games for Seattle last year and had 3 sacks & only 31 COMBINED tackles.

Ouch Lol But some fool will pay this guy what he wants ..or close to it its exactly what I say about Yoenis Céspedes.....how the Mets still think he is worth keeping around is beyond me. Should have been ditched 3 injuries ago. Clowney not as injured of course but he is not a worth a full time pay check. Not anymore anyway

Clowney almost makes through the pre-season without an injury . Clowney Plays great the last 3 games of the season. You can replace Clowney with Vernon and the premise is exactly the same. We just got rid of that guy. Personally I think Golden, Carter and X ( 20 sacks) are better than Clowney (5 sacks) . The 3 of them combined will be 8-10 million cheaper.

As was said in another thread, its telling the Houston traded him, and Seattle has no interest in resigning him. Caveat Emptor in a big way.

Clowney is more disruptive then Golden but doesn't get the sack totals or the games played. I'm still laughing at the comment that Golden is a better player so I thank you for that laugh.
Golden might be able to help the defense this coming year but I would rather go with a different player who's hopefully stronger against the run and plays in the back field more.

Using us to possibly drum up money from Jerruh You think they can keep Dak, Cooper and sign Clowney? I hope so, that would incinerate their cap for the next 3 years minimum....

Clowney had 3 sacks in 2019 and 31 total tackles .
Golden had 10 sacks and 72 total tackles.
golden is over double in each category.

I did not think Josh Allen would fall to us last year at 6 when we picked Jones. It is the draft one think that is always the constant , surprise.

And he already has some question marks before the draft weather hes anywhere as good as forecasted. Hes shown he can disappear in big games Clowney was a clear homerun by all analysts and was way more of a monster in college then Young ever was and look at his career. Way short of the mark as far as what expectations were I say quinn or a few of the others mentioned and trade down in the draft
