Look any normal human reaction from what this guy has faced in the last 72 hours is probably that he is sh@tting his pants. Normal reaction would be that im facing 60 years to life with this event. So as a human being you have to sit down and ponder what life has become. Im not saying he is guilty or not guilty , just saying what a normal human being would think. As a human being I wish them all well and hope the things arent true. If im coach Judge and I find out its not true, park your ass in that seat right there. I put a sign on the door that says life and put a sign under the nyg sign that says family. I tell him immediately your free to walk out that door and see what life brings and never look back here. The other option is this sign. You have seen what that life can cause, your option to be in this family has rules and you have to abide by them. This is your crossroads in life. You have to be responsible to yourself , your family, this team and this organization. The second you slip you are done. I cannot stand for someone that cant stand for themselves. If u take my option you are immediately suspended until further notice. You are going to be given counseling and a financial advisor along with maintaining the playbook and mandatory roll call of all meetings. You will be tested by our staff. We are your family and your friends now. You will be monitored and you will adhere to our policies. As a human being and family we care about your well being and safety. If you do not agree to the terms them that door of life is right there.

I hope he's innocent. But if he is, this was a pretty elaborate frame-up. According to the cops, there were 4 victims and a separate witness who has known them from childhood. All were questioned separately on video. I hope he is innocent too and really want him off the team. We now know some real pertinent facts, not about the case but about his make up. Apparently, he has never taken the game seriously in an NFL sort of way. We hear that he had to be pushed every day at practice in college. We hear that he never played to the play book and preferred to free lance in college. We know from scouts that he was lazy and dogged it at the Senior Bowl and Combine. We know that he slept through meetings as a rookie starter. We know he was lost most of the time in coverage (connects with his indifference to the play book in college) We know he has been missing in action on Zoom meetings. We know he's hanging around high stakes gambling games while skipping (optional) virtual meetings, coming off a terrible rookie season. We know that if he returns to the team he will gobble up an inordinate amount of coach time and attention because he's an indifferent dumbass. And we want him on our team because? Assuming he is innocent, and that everything you list above is exactly how it actually was, then I still want to see what a new coach is able to get out of him. If everything outside of the criminal activity is entirely accurate, it all may have been due to the arrogance of always having shit be easy and we can hope this situation scared the shit and that arrogance out of him. Bottomline - we spent resources on him so we may as well see what Judge can get out of him. Who knows - maybe it will be best for the Giants and him just to tell him "OK - forget the playbook - let's just focus on technique and your job every week will be to stick like glue to the guy we put you in front of." That would play to his strength and temperament and would seem to be in line with Judge's wish to focus on what player's can do rather than what they can't. I have no idea if modern defenses can incorporate that thinking for one of their corners but, again, regardless of the specifics, would like to see what Judge can do with him.

I am not sure he "turned himself in." That dumb ass may have mistaken the police station for a jiggle joint. After, police finger printed, photos and booked him. Baker , asked the booking sargent for a deck of cards. Ca rds

Holding out hope in the face of a mountain of evidence is an admirable trait. I mean that. I am just not buying that an epiphany is in the cards. (no pun intended)

(no pun intended) I hear ya and I agree with you and think the odds are not in favor of things working out for this guy - I also think that if Judge is the type of coach we hope he is, then his magic is probably better face to face. I know that in my line of work, I have to get people to do things that aren't fun or what they want to do but are, ultimately, good for them and that I have a much easier time doing so when I'm with them.

... with completely disrespectful, selfish and profoundly stupid behavior in the midst of a pandemic with stay-at-home orders, social distancing and mask usage required almost everywhere? It happened in Florida. The rules have been very liberally enforced here. Don't let the "empty" beaches fool you. Yup. If he was just there and didn't participate in the robbery, I don't see the Giants discipling him. Now, if he missed mandatory team activities, that's different.

Totally agree that face to face works best especially in situations like this. Nothing would make me happier than against all odds, he is found innocent and becomes a main stay in our defensive backfield. I am just saying that based on a mountain of behavioral evidence, it is a bad bet which I wouldn't make in preparing this team for the coming season and beyond.

Well, we've already made that bet so if he's innocent of the armed robbery, then the best choice is to let it play out. Otherwise, we just eat his money.

This whole thing is a cluster****, whether he's guilty or innocent there's definitely some shady stuff going on. Nothing will exonerate him for placing himself in that situation to begin with. This. You have more money and resources than you could need, and still choose to be in situations like this. You are the average of your 3 closest friends. He should probably have a long hard look at his- if he ever gets that chance. 15 years per count in FL.....

Everyone got a clean slate though, Baker never slept in a Judge meeting....although he apparently completely skipped the off season "workouts" which is a bad decision for a guy that had trouble with the play book last year. I'm fine with the "clean slate" theory, but it shouldn't be taken as a free pass. It would take falling asleep exactly ONCE for Judge to show him the door. If he's innocent, I hope he's learned something. He seemed to be a lot better in the last 5 games or so. He has the talent and was straightened out (by all accounts of teammates and coaches we can find) after that Jets game/bye week. I was shocked to learn he was skipping our "volunteer workouts" with a new staff putting in a new playbook. Was hoping Judge could be the guy to fix his issues. Time will tell I guess.

FB, Aren't we eating the money whether he's on the team or not? If we cut him, we lose pretty much zero in the way of production and we burn cash. If we keep him, we keep zero in the way of production and may actually hurt the team with his distractions and demands on the coaches time. Either way we are spending a boat load of money for nothing. That's why I fall in favor of sayonara. I was all for giving him some room a week ago. It wasn't until the past 36 hours that I realized how ill equipped he is mentally to compete at the highest level. It has been going on since college, continued last year and right through the virtual OTAs where he was MIA. Listen, I am always up for a miracle, I just don't think we should plan our season around one.

If we keep him, we keep zero in the way of production and may actually hurt the team with his distractions and demands on the coaches time. Hence the let it play out thing. We fans don't decide how the locker room or coaching staff will be effected by him being there. If he is innocent we have to see how everyone is effected. If it's an issue then DG has certainly shown in the past to have a quick trigger and I doubt Judge is much different.

Not walking away from the situation when it started to become sketchy. If you weren't there you have no idea what the situation was... none of us do.. I am just going by my experiences when I was younger. If I had a uneasy felling about a situation . I was usually correct. Me removing myself from a bad situation I felt was unfolding .Saved me a whole lot of heart ache that some of my friends had to deal with.

Tough to know if he gets out of this legal situation? Maybe a wake up call, where he gets his career and more importantly his life going in the right direction
Certainly not what the Giants want at this point, it will be interesting to see how Judge handles this one

All the other stuff is just conjecture and rumors. Nothing else has been substantiated by anyone that matters....ie....Joe Judge. I'm sorry, but I don't see not giving the guy the chance I was giving before this story came out.

I hope for his sake that he is innocent because it’s terrible for a young man or young woman to throw their lives away like this as well as hurt society. If innocent I’d still want him off the team for actually putting himself in this spot to begin with. I hope that DeAndre Baker and the rest of the individuals are the party we’re all wearing masks and practiced social distancing during this event. How the hell do you do social distancing when you take watches and money from victims?" Allegedly "....You don't really think they were social distancing if a crime was Allegedly committing do you?

Just my view on distractions. I hated Hosely and Hill for that.

I think facing multiple decades in prison for being in the wrong place at the wrong time (allegedly) could have a similar affect. The guy was a very talented college CB, we have a new "no nonsense" HC that will either make him grow up or will set him free. I'd rather see what Joe can do with him........if he's innocent, of course.

He’s a lawyer. Who is hired by Baker his client. Which means he by law will defend his client to the best of his abilities. And right now it’s damage control, make his client turn himself in. And make it known to the public that there is a video that will exonerate his client. Right now Baker is looked as a thug, Mr Cohens job is to make him look like a human being who was wrongly accused of a crime. No matter of the outcome his law firm will be just fine if the video changes the minds of the prosecution. So what was the meaning of the post your replied to my OP? It read like you believed the video evidence was a diversion rather then a redeeming aspect to his defense. A diversion? No.. That video could be Baker and Dumbass playing monopoly as this all went down who knows. My point was of course the lawyer will bring up that their is a video exonerating his client. Hence, water is wet.. This is damage control my man. Nothing more. Baker is not some chump who had a warrant for his arrest. He’s an NFL player who allegedly committed a violent crime. A lawyers first act of business of course have his client turn himself in. Second, soften his image to the public. Right now all we have on the news is Covid-19 and weather reports. This juicy story is front page news everywhere..
