Just read another article in the Daily News. At this point, his lawyer is claiming: 1) he brought his own xbox to the party and was playing it in a completely different room from the incident. He was gambling on xbox, but he had not lost 70K earlier in the week. The lawyer is looking to get the records of his xbox login/play to bolster his case. 2) He heard the commotion and the table crash down and yelling but had no idea what actually happened and he booked out of there. He left the xbox at the house. 3) When he left he was not driving, having had a designated driver for the party. He was actually stopped in a line of cars at the security gate for the complex while exiting, and there is video of this. 4) The cops were not called until almost 2 hours later. 5) He has a licensed handgun, but did not have it with him at the party. Number 4 is what struck me upon reading the arrest report. Why wait to call the police after being robbed by a couple of NFL players? Also the part about having the cars parked for a hasty getaway.... now hearing it was a gated community makes that claim even more ridiculous. Not to mention who parks for a quick getaway then decides to hang out for a few hours before committing a robbery? This whole thing is just strange... Not only that, why didnt they immediately call the security at the gate? So much weirdness here.

Theres places in Texas where you can pay to go up in a helicopter and mow down a bunch of wild boar. They're invasive species so they try whatever they can to get people to kill as much of em as possible. Get in the chopper!

Fun. Ok, good, go to a gun range and pay to use it. Pay for the ammo. Should not be for personal use IMO. Im all for people owning a reasonable gun if they want to. Shooting a rocket launcher at things would be fun and cool too, but doesnt mean it should be legal. I just dont think Joe Schmoe should be able to go to the shop and purchase an AK47 with a banana clip to bring home to the kids for fun. That is a military weapon. You dont need it for hunting. You dont need it for protection. Everyone has their own opinion which is why we have a Constitution. There are people out there that don't think you should have a Corvette because it goes to fast. Why do you need a car that can go 150 MPH when 65 is the speed limit? Go to a course and rent it. Pay for gas.
I listed other reasons beyond fun. Do you know how many murders there were in this country with legally owned machine guns last year? Zero. I get the stigma but people start saying some crazy things about guns some times.
Ha! I can see the guy owning the AK47 with a yellow banana clip driving 150mph in a yellow vet. Now thats scary.

thats whole idea that they were conducting illegal gambling. Clean up the area first or waiting to decide what to do. It is illegal to rob and an illegal game?....lol I'm a bit confused about where everyone keeps saying the gambling was illegal at the party. Gambling is only illegal if the house charges for a seat at the table or profits off the game. It's not illegal to play cards for money. Do we know that was the case? I'm asking because I don't know ... was there something about that in the report or are people making assumptions? yeah thats a good point I am just assuming something there was not on the up and up because they waited 2 hours to call the police.

"Home poker games are permitted in Florida so long as they fall under a few strict guidelines. The game must be held in a residential dwelling, and must be defined, by law, as a “penny-ante” game. The owner of the dwelling, nor any player, may profit from the holding of the game outside of any equal-opportunity winnings derived from the game. All participants must be 18+ years of age. The home poker game cannot be advertised in any way. The “penny-ante” rules states that the pot in a single hand of poker may not exceed a value of $10."Another reason to see the entire state of Florida as ridiculous.

The part about “owner of the dwelling or any player not making a profit from the holding of the game” is there in an attempt to stop high stakes gambling or even any type of private gambling halls being allowed to develop. I don’t know if the law works but that’s why it’s there. It looks like this whole thing is being at the wrong place at the wrong time and Baker will be better for this. It would be nice if we have some veteran players on the team reach out that can mentor Baker through this. Maybe they have but we don’t have many veteran players.

So kids at a party can’t be upstanding citizens? Uh, OK. Well, its pretty obvious that some of them are dirt-bags and/or actual criminals. Either 3 of them actually did rob others at gunpoint, or the 4 "victims" lied there asses off to the police. Maybe everyone else at the party had just arrived from choir practice. Hard to know. 4 victims AND and Witness. I have a hard time believing 5 people said it was Baker and he is like What? Me? I was in another room playing Madden On the other hand why would they wait 2 hours to call the police after he left? Were they all trying to get their stories straight? This doesn’t sit well with me. I am torn

I get it but 5???? He is also admitting to a table being flipped sooo something did happen they said something happened. Initially ,(Allegedly,) Baker flipped the table over. When all the witnesses say the same exact thing it is sure sign of a set up.....lol They had two hours to get their stories synced up before the called the police.

Well 5 people saying the same thing doesn’t mean it is a set up. I don’t know what to believe at this point other then I am shocked that with accusations of Armed Robbery the Police didn’t take his gun or the alleged gun in the accusation as evidence. The fact that the Giants also told him to stay away from the facilities and virtual workouts means (to me) that they know something isn’t right

I cannot come up with a reasonable explanation why a group of people would wait 2 hours to call in an armed robbery, unless they needed that time to hide something they didn't want to have the police see.

I agree. That is the one thing that sticks out to me and if I didn't know Baker and was sitting on this jury it would be sending up red flags for me. Why did you guys wait two hours to call the police? Surely if someone steals my $12,000 watch I'm calling the cops right away in hopes they catch him before he sells it.

I actually am on the side that Baker probably gets off based on what has come out though..

They can become illegal based on the amount of money, but does anyone have an evidence as to what each hand was played for? Doubtful.
My question is this though. IF they were breaking the law then who did they call to "see if they would be arrested" and who was the person that said "nah your illegal poker game is fine don't worry about breaking the law, call the cops". Just does not seem likely. Much more likely they waited two hours to get their story together. Either way in a justice system where you must prove the other guy is guilty beyond a reasonable doubt I just see too many holes in this story.

I would be calling my lawyer and so would any rich person. Intelligent rich people have their lawyer's contact info in their phone. The richer you are, the more you can bend the law to your will (Obviously, there are limits to this). In addition, they could be telling the truth even if they wanted to get their story straight. Like I previously mentioned, it appears this whole incident is BS and Baker gets off. I was just informing the board that many people would reach out to their lawyers, regardless of their innocence or guilt, especially since they would be reporting the theft of a significant amount of money. Paying a lawyer $1,000 vs unintentionally implicating yourself in a crime is a very small price to pay....

Also I would be more likely to give them the benefit of the doubt it other things were not fishy. Like if the video showed the getaway car waiting outside. Like if they were not hanging out there for over an hour before this happened. Like if Baker didn't walk in and hook up his xbox. Like if it wasn't a gated community that they could call down to the front gate to lock it down if they wanted. Just to many holes for me to think waiting 2 hours was a normal reaction to an armed robbery. Now each one of those things could also be untrue, but we would see some video if that were the case.
You agree this incident is BS, no sense carrying on with it lol.

Maybe, but would you have the foresight to ask about a scenario in which you and several players get held up in an armed robbery? It seems obvious now but most people don't think this would happen to them until it does. Also, this probably didn't happen at all....
