I don't see Judge at years end not wanting an upgrade if he has big turn over season and the Giants are picking top 3. Lets hope the kid settles down learns this offense and stops turning it over. I understand his arm limitations, and realize we have a game manager type QB...however, a good game manager QB does not turn the ball over..that is what makes them attractive to head coaches. If he continues to do this, and we HAVE the 1 pick with Trevor Lawrence, the best prospect since Luck...even more talented...you don't trade the pick. Imagine the Giants Legacy?...keep Barkley, trade Lawrence. Not going to happen....if we are picking 1, DG is gone, and Lawrence is the pick. Agree, I think Jones has plenty of arm for me it's the turnovers I have a feeling if they stay healthy besides what has already taken place they won't be picking #1 he will get better as he learns the system. But if they do pick 1 I'm on the Lawrence.

He still had plenty of time yesterday after the first couple series I'm saying if he ends the year with big time Turn overs they would have to pull the trigger. I view this much like last year for him he has only played 2 games in this system it takes time to get on the same page. Last year the last games he played he had like 8 TDs and 2 picks I'm more worried about the fumbles. The line was improved from week 1 and I expect they will be more then solid by week 4 or 5. On a side note losing Barkly hurt big time they were already starting to get gashed and that always helps a young QB.

But if they do pick 1 I'm on the Lawrence. if we can get a decent line and time playing together , he will be fine. The kid throws a pretty accurate ball. He is fairly accurate. The thing with Jones is he's not a dynamic QB. He doesn't create plays. He doesn't move the pocket and create new throwing lanes. That immediately puts the Giants behind at least half the teams in the NFL. There are plays other teams will make that the Giants/Jones won't/cant. So, even though his accuracy is fine...he's not dynamic enough to overcome the blunders. So, even if his accuracy stays the same...he's not good enough to overcome all his turnovers. He puts the team in a bind.

Pretty mediocre, if not disappointing.
-The fumble was bad -Really didn't make any good/great throws. Were all slants/digs/etc on completions. Was off target on a few -The interception, even though Engram slipped, was thrown late -Still needs to make quicker decisions -Double clutches the ball -I liked the little flip to Dion Lewis -I liked that he drove down the field at the end of the game
All in all, you can't get shut out in the first half. I get that the Bears have a really good defense, but still.

Tate and Engram carried the offense today. Not Slayton, who was a complete no show. With his 5 catches for less than 50 yards and no TD's? Really.
Last week you pumped up the team by saying we didn't get blown out at home. Now you claim Golden Tate helped "carry" the offense with an abysmal performance.
I said Tate and Engram, who led the passing game while Slayton dropped passes and failed to show up at any point in the game. Even on the final play, which went to... Tate. Even at 32 years old with a bad hamstring he out played Slayton.

Unfortunately I agree with you here and I Unfortunately have been proven right here about our recievers as wellMy prayers were answered with Slayton..maybe Ratley once he gets more comfortable with this offense can contribute down the line People want to stick their heads in tbe sand ever wanting to add major upgrades here but both Tate and probably Sheppard might he cap casualties next year Prayers? What part of 3 catches for 33 yards with a drop against one of the worst secondaries in football proved you right? Shepard left in the first half and his absence was felt by Jones. Tate had a better game than Slayton on a bad hamstring. Raitley also had a bad drop. Hell, even CJ Board outplayed Slayton, maybe we've found something there. Jones was the biggest problem on offense yesterday. Even with time to throw his decision-making was slow and questionable. Clearly he's still adjusting to a new offense with no preparation time.

We'll know what kind of player we have over the next few weeks as the resonance off Trevor Lawrence's name rings louder in Jones' ears.
I think the HC is a perfect fit to keep the young players focused, and shake off the BS that's likely to drift the Giants way with each loss.

Ill bet you that Slayton out produces Tate this year. By a good margin. What do you say?

Outside of the standard overreaction to losing (which I get, super annoying), I don't think I honestly understand some of the anti-Jones perspectives in here. Does everyone forget his rookie year extrapolated over a season is basically Mayfield's rookie year, which is generally considered the best ever. Show me the list of QBs that had a better first 12 games.
I think there's a big difference between objectively saying a guy needs to work on things vs. saying these things occurred and now I think we should draft a QB one overall. Just think about how silly that sounds. And while I'd like to see him fumble the ball less, the anatomy of a turnover is absolutely more complicated than "it's the QBs fault." Blindside arm hits while trying to make a play are going to result in loose balls, pretty much for all QBs. It seems the easy narrative is to always associate the fumble with Daniel Jones like he's a running back. I honestly don't get that.
Outside of Patrick Mahomes, every young QB has flaws in their game that they can get better at. I think I read someone say his awareness and decision making won't get better (though I don't think his decision making is overall bad). That's exactly what happens to QBs as they mature positively, those things get better.
Blanket declarations about our young QB after 14 starts is stupid, don't really have another way to put it. As if it's guaranteed Trevor Lawrence, or Joe Burrow, or Baker Mayfield or any QB is a sure thing. We literally watched a guy have one of the most successful rookie years in NFL history, and he's on our team. I think I'll give him a little more time before hitting the reset button.

Need more Weapons!
Slayton, Engram are good but do they put fear in a Defense...NO! As great of a young QB Patrick Mahomes is, he has Loads of Weapons, Multiple Speedy Big Play WR's, Great TE, Multiple RB's. They have to continue to Stock Pile Talent around DJ, we need more Speed!
More Speed means guys will get open faster so the ball would be able to come out faster
DJ gotta clean up his turnovers, also don't be afraid to use his athleticism and improvise and make plays with his legs more often

He looks just like Nick Foles. Has so since day 1, the exact same game. He's not like Eli at all IMO Nick has produced excellent stretches of play, however, the consistency is just not there. I fear the same for Jones

He didnt ask to be taken #6 overall. But after having Eli for the last 7 years of his career (really his whole career), can we deal with another QB who has the tendency to turn the ball over at an astronomical rate? DJ leads the league in turnovers since the beginning of last year. Im not giving up on him yet (unless you tell me we are getting Trevor LAwrence), but I will criticize since I was against the pick day 1. I just want him to play a game without multiple turnovers. Most other QBs can.

For me I expected him to be slowed down he can't know this offense completely they haven't been on the field long enough.

Im not giving up on him yet (unless you tell me we are getting Trevor LAwrence), but I will criticize since I was against the pick day 1. I just want him to play a game without multiple turnovers. Most other QBs can. Anything said or assumed about him prior to the draft was the national media and the stories they create every year. It was pretty clear that actual NFL teams had a different opinion of the guy. Again, the anatomy of a turnover is more complicated that that, if it wasn't then plenty of guys would have been "doomed" that were not, in fact, doomed for their careers. Peyton Manning threw 28 interceptions in his first year and never threw under 15 until 2003. Kurt Warner battled a fumbling problem his entire career. Jared Goff struggled mightily until year 2, and had a worse year last year. Eli Manning wasn't good until the playoffs of his 44th year. These small events don't tell the story of a player, it's just us overreacting. I don't know why Trevor Lawrence would make you want to give up on Daniel Jones or any other promising, young QB. Daniel Jones has actually performed at a high level in 1/2 to 3/4 of his NFL starts. Trevor Lawrence hasn't taken a snap. Doesn't mean he won't be great. If the Browns are in contention for the #1 pick, should they give up on Mayfield because they have a shot at Lawrence? He stunk last year after the best rookie year in history, what if he's solid this year, but they don't win, or he's inconsistent? The answer is no, you don't give up on him. If Daniel Jones has an average year, and the Giants have the #1 pick, you continue building the rest of the team around him giving him a chance to succeed, because he's shown up to this point (and I'm sure we'll have those signs this year) that he has the skills to be a very good QB and proved it in multiple games. He had a run last year where he threw like 13tds to 1 int, as a rookie, on a bad team. He also gets time in a new offensive system to become comfortable, we'd have that built into our expectations in a normal year, let alone this one. It's not an excuse if we're mid year and he's still having the same types of struggles, then there's bigger questions, but he gets a little buffer from mme.

ended his TD streak and kept his turnover streak alive. The kid has big potential but he has to clean up. Watch Herbert or Burrow. Those guys are so far ahead of Jones already. Really, so far a head? Man, that Joe Burrow and his 0-2 start is so far ahead of Daniel Jones. Same with Herbert and his 0-1 start. Some of you guys really need to wait until around Wednesday to post stuff after a loss. I mean, since we're making jokes, I got one too; You guys hold on to your common sense after a loss about as good as Jones holds on to football during a game.

However, it still wouldn't be "give up" mode for me. There's too many ups and downs in this league for a young QB on a bad team. He could have a "down year" and be great next year, totally in the realm of possibility. Don't want that, mostly because I don't give up on a season after 2 weeks haha...but I'm worried about the lack of talent on the offensive side of the ball right now with Barkley and Shep out, Engram disappointing me, and Golden Tate being exactly what I thought he'd be when we signed him (and should not be our lead WR, ever). If Jason Garrett can manufacture a passing game from this squad, lots of credit to him and Jones, honestly. It's not an inspiring group right now.

You didn’t answer my question so I’ll ask again. Did you watch their games or just highlights? The way they see the field , how they find the open receiver, how they feel the pressure and adjust. Burrow went off against Cleveland who DO have a good defense. 316 yards 3 touchdowns, O interceptions Quarter Back Rating 90.6 Herbert 311 yards 1 touchdown, 1 interception QBR 94.4 Danial Jones knew from last season that he had to fix his turnovers and improve ball security. Here we are a season later and he is still marking the same mistakes. So either he is very dumb and can’t understand what he is doing wrong or he can’t process the plays fast enough Either way he is hurting the team more then helping. He is a legit Turn Over Machine So far after 2 weeks 3 interceptions and not sure 1-2 fumbles? 241 yards, O touchdowns 1 interception Quarter Back Rating 68.9.

I know for a fact without seeing anything that they are not much further ahead of Jones as NFL QBs after one or two games. Lets talk at the end of this season how Burrows and Herbert are doing. I like both and think the will both have success in the NFL but to say they are far ahead of Jones is kind of a joke. DJ first two games of 2019 if you want apples to apples 56 completes for 89 attempts 6 TDs and 1 INT 38 yards rushing

How can you have an opinion then? I am not even going to reply to your response because you have no idea what you’re talking about because you admittedly didn’t watch them play. PS I posted the stats about last week. Look at the (3) players stats I posted. They are ALL from last week. We didn’t even play the Steelers last week. You know that right?
