Nice enjoyable 6 days visiting my daughter and her Mexican cartel husband and family in Visalia California. I kid...although it would have been nice after a 10 hour drive to have access to some Brown Sugar, Black Pearl, Golden Girl or White Nurse...the needle and the pain free glory done... and some massage therapists with the same nicknames to ease the tension. Alas, none to be found thus the muscle relaxer and 800 mg of Advil had to suffice. So, let's leap frog some more and deal with the fused up back and shot to hell knees and get my adrenaline rush now from my latest mock draft. Double tapping consisted of edge and IOL. All three OL can play any position along the line, and after drafting these three guys I can finally believe the OL has been rebuilt. Rousseau has a vaulted ceiling, in the 2nd round I take him. Not a chance in hell he is my 11 pick. A trade back to 20 should net some quality starters on the OL, and would be around the time to take a chance on some edge.
The more I think about it, the less likely I am taking Smith is he falls to 11. He's a skeleton and I would only feel safe if he played wide at X...and we already have that spot taken with a lot of cap. Every time Smith would go near the middle of the field I would cringe...Waddle is IMHO, the better pick for playing all over. However, that injury...would not be surprised if both fell out of the top ten, and past the Giants. Chase and Pitts are sure things, with Pitts the red zone 6 maker.
I also drafted whom I believe the best all around RB this year, in the 3rd round. After contact yards...balance, vision, wiggle...soft hands, routes...he's the package. We can then not need worry about the 2 overall pick 2 contract, and let him wander into another team's too much money for a RB problem. We all assume Barkley is coming back rookie of the year form, but he might not. We need to take the posters down, put the jersey on the hanger towards the back of the closet...and move on, while rotating the running backs from middle rounds...create the OL, and all running backs will give us a ground game when needed.
Ar'Darius Washington is so tiny, but I use him in odd defensive packages...from safety to slot cover. His best position is free safety....no player, including his highly rated safety teammate can see plays develop better than he. BPA, and he at that spot is a perfect zone fit for this defense. If you want "football" players, he is your guy.

I really WANT to like AVT and Slater more than I do. Yes, they're BOTH very good and consistent players, but neither of them if a force who is out there kicking ass.... If anything, they're neutralizing their opponent. They both have excellent technique but they're both so average to watch when compared to someone like Sewell.
Dont get me wrong, I would be totally OK with Slater or AVT, Im just not head over heels for either of them

The feedback I'm getting from friends, associates, and clients regarding todays robotics has me encouraged enough to go for it early next year. Much less invasive, more precise, and much shorter recovery. Good luck with the knees and your back, wishing you relief.

Much less invasive, more precise, and much shorter recovery. Good luck with the knees and your back, wishing you relief. Thanks Salmon...oddly enough I took the older Grand Marquis vs new hybrid Venza due to the latter crushing the knees my last two long trips to LA and Flagstaff...the Mercury is a huge sofa, but this trip messed up the back and knees. Sometimes nature is just cruel as we age...but I do know of a guy I worked with back in the day who just had both knees done and he's already doing walks again. I've had some serious knee injuries with operations ... funny story. Back in the day I was training with my military group in Yokosuka, Japan. Needless to say I messed the knee up after a leap and they needed to operate for a tear. I elected to get back to my home base in Pearl Harbor and the infamous Tripler military (army) Hospital, and they flew me on a cargo plane. For the retired military guys, they know what kind of plane this is...you sit backwards and are lost among the cargo on crappy seats. The flight was stopping at Clark AFB in the Philippines and then would continue on to Pearl. My leg is in a full cast thus sitting was not well...when halfway through the heavy turbulence the plane dropped. Other military personal were screaming...we were indeed plunging. My issue at that point was not a possible crash, but my ears. Seems something popped, and they were bleeding. The pain was ungodly. We eventually steadied out and of course I was in agony. We landed, seen the doctor, and he gave me orders of no flying for 6 months, and I was literally a prisoner at Clark...in a cast. Of course, it was the Philippines, and a military town, thus like Subic...there could be worse places to be "stuck" than Clark. Now, people ask me what was the most painful thing I ever had to endure in life, and that ear was always tops...until I finally got back to Tripler in Hawaii. They put my leg in a brace back in Clark after a month or so, and of course I did what I could to keep in the shape I was required to be at, but no matter how many leg extensions that knee was not able to handle my weight. So I am prepared for surgery in Hawaii as I finally get there, and this doctor comes in with a younger guy (my age at the time) and they proceed to start the operation, without any sedation or pain numbing...nothing. I of course let them know I am on our side, not a communist or enemy of the country...why torture me? After a bit, they realized they forgot to do the put me out part...yeah, opening my knee up minus the make it not hurt part. Oh, and to make matters worse, they actually began on the left knee when it was the right. I laugh now, but I then realized if I am in a firefight...don't get shot, and if I do get shot and survive, point out to them where the hole is.

I was fighting fading out from the anesthesia, mumbling my words like drunken sailor--"wrong knee, wrong knee"! The last thing I heard was the surgeons understudy say to the nurse, "well, the patient is never wrong". I know exactly what you go through on those long road trips. The last time we flew to FL the Orlando airport was a mess(common), rentals were delayed hours and we got stuck with a "mid size" SUV which was the newer buick that is as big as a smart car. The inability to stretch out my left knee is a special kind of pain. I

The.... is Daniel Jones our franchise QB draft?
Yes. No.
Circle one
McKitty is a great tight end, and will be rising the boards. The bulldogs simply have not used him as they should have. Jackson could be the best zone blocking center in the draft. Light, and if you are looking for a 330 pound anchor who moves well in a phone booth he is not your guy...but he will set up inside zone blocking well, and can pull and hit the second level quicker then many tight ends. Not a bad backup in the 6th round.
This draft, with Sewell dropping past the Cowboys (aint happening) and adding 4 potential starters as weapons...this draft should make us all remember what a playoff game feels like.
11: R1 P11 OT Penei Sewell - Oregon
42: R2 P10 WR Terrace Marshall Jr. - LSU
76: R3 P12 WR D’Wayne Eskridge - Western Michigan
116: R4 P11 RB Michael Carter - North Carolina
196: R6 P12 TE Tre' McKitty - Georgia
201: R6 P17 C Drake Jackson - Kentucky

Nice work. There's light at the end of the tunnel for those knees. Decades of road running after knee injuries playing ball in school have both of mine bone on bone. They have wanted to do a replacement on my left knee since 2014. Glad I waited and fought through. The feedback I'm getting from friends, associates, and clients regarding todays robotics has me encouraged enough to go for it early next year. Much less invasive, more precise, and much shorter recovery. Good luck with the knees and your back, wishing you relief. I saw this long story,Clark AFB base and thought "Cool...another Pinatubo story" (be thankful you weren't there when that popped..I know a marine that was there right until they forced the geologists to evacuate during the main eruption because pyroclastic flows were reaching the outskirts of the base ...yeah that's how big this was .

The.... is Daniel Jones our franchise QB draft? Yes. No. Circle one McKitty is a great tight end, and will be rising the boards. 11: R1 P11 OT Penei Sewell - Oregon 42: R2 P10 WR Terrace Marshall Jr. - LSU 76: R3 P12 WR D’Wayne Eskridge - Western Michigan 116: R4 P11 RB Michael Carter - North Carolina 196: R6 P12 TE Tre' McKitty - Georgia 201: R6 P17 C Drake Jackson - Kentucky Great problem to have Where does Peart play,or Thomas,or Sewell ......alas he won't reach past 10 so I guess the easier situation of AVT or Slater ..... Marshall won't last that long, not after his pro day....but yeah...streak to the podium if there....then get Eskridge.....(we now have potential trade bait for something mid-season with Slayton or Shepard....maybe for an edge rusher ) I'd love this draft

Sewell is a different beast...he actually could be an all pro rookie guard or tackle...so sliding him inside for his rookie year until we see what we have truly with Peart would not be as bad as putting the slim Peart at right guard. I've been watching a lot of these reps on the OL the last two days, and Sewell is a monster...not sure why he is sliding a bit, and Slater is slipping ahead....I guess we have short memories. At age 19, Sewell was winning the Outland, and simply dominating...from a gap monster, zone with pulling like I have not seen on men that size, and the QB mind a Quenton Nelson has. He's still the first non QB taken and I'd put money down....I would be laughing at the fools if Slater, Pitts, Chase ect...any are taken before that kid. Oh, imagine Sewell and Shane Lemieux doing Oregon again... in New York? Dream on.... Oh, and on a trade back...I see some tackles I would take if they moved inside to guard...one kid from Alabama and a cool name I have in mind.

I did this mock sitting on the bowl So if it's shifty, now you know why
16: R1 P16 G Alijah Vera-Tucker - USC
Slater and the big 4 were gone..passed on Parsons (gasp) for this trade back and got a day one plug and play RG
42: R2 P10 DL Daviyon Nixon - Iowa
Barren.....no 3dge guys.....my favorite IDL prospect so even though we drafted Shelton we have a guy that probably takes over next year at a high level.
49: R2 P17 WR TuTu Atwell - Louisville
BPA at a position I'm targeting..dynamic X factor slot type speed playmaker to eventually replace Shepard
76: R3 P12 EDGE Patrick Jones II - Pittsburgh
To add to tbe edge rush mix....
116: R4 P11 CB Eric Stokes - Georgia
Why is he still here after his pro day? Really not keen on taking a corner due to depth but you can't teach his athleticism..
196: R6 P12 OT Cole Van Lanen - Wisconsin
Wisconsin o linemen usually do well at the next level...
201: R6 P17 RB Kylin Hill - Mississippi State
Why not TRADES Trade Partner: Arizona Cardinals
Sent:
Round 1 Pick 11 Received:
Round 1 Pick 16 Round 2 Pick 17

We've got the meats draft. A couple trade backs in the 2nd and 3rd rounds, not moving too far back... and ended up with Pitts, whom is a tight end in size only. Probably the most skilled guy in the draft, I consider him the ultimate large weapon, while Waddle being the ultimate smaller. Both give the OC a lot of options, extend playbooks...would be another Daniel Jones maker. Mayfield was still hanging around at pick 48, and that's too rich for me not to take as the drop at tackle begins after he. The mighty Quinn has been mocked in many first rounds lately, so this is still a no brainer...is versatile, and can play guard. Nixon is a talented 3 tech DT ...weak edge class, but let's keep the beef solid with inside penetration so when we do finally get that edge rusher to win a superbowl, he's facing single blocks. The best aspect of Leonard Williams game is he gets double teamed a lot, and still getting home due to defensive coverage concept. Get an impossible to block with one tackle edge, and OC's will be having fits trying to waste weapons to keep their QB clean.
Banks in round 4 is not a scheme fit, but he's a monster at gap blocking. Sermon is known for anybody who even glances at college football....McKitty gives us a very talented large TE, and just more matchup nightmares for DC's. Josh Imatorbhebhe is still a secret...he's going to a be a WR getting reps in the NFL...he's a frogman...can jump up, tell the DB to excuse him and kiss the sky.
11: R1 P11 TE Kyle Pitts - Florida
48: R2 P16 OT Jalen Mayfield - Michigan
76: R3 P12 C Quinn Meinerz - UW-Whitewater
79: R3 P15 DL Daviyon Nixon - Iowa
122: R4 P17 G Aaron Banks - Notre Dame

You might as well go shotgun and pass 3 times to get it in because between the tackles will be a no go zone

R1 P11 TE Kyle Pitts - Florida
R2 P10 LB Zaven Collins - Tulsa
R3 P12 G Trey Smith - Tennessee
R4 P11 LB Hamilcar Rashed Jr. - Oregon State
R6 P12 G Aaron Banks - Notre Dame
R6 P17 WR Rico Bussey Jr. - North Texas
Pitts would be the cornerstone for our offense for at least the next decade.
Collins would step in day 1 at OLB. He can cover, rush the qb, stuff the run, set the edge, he can really do it all and might be the best all around OLB
Smith is a guy who is heavy handed, looks to beat the crap out of guys, and has top end size and strength. Unfortunately he isnt great in space, but he has alot of potential and I feel like alot of his defincies could be fixed with good coaching
Rashed plays like a man posessed, he gives 110 every play, and plays from whistle to whistle. He has great burst and can set the edge very well, nice set of pass rushing moves. No idea what happened in 2020 after putting up like 20TFL and 14 sacks in 2019
Bussey has GREAT speed, can cut on a blade of grass, goes from 0-60 immeditley, isnt afraid to mix it up with DB's..... has drop issues, doesnt have great ball skills, had a torn acl in 2019 and looked a step slower in 2020
R1 P11 WR Jaylen Waddle - Alabama
R2 P10 OT Teven Jenkins - Oklahoma State
R3 P12 EDGE Joe Tryon - Washington R4 P11 LB Chazz Surratt - North Carolina R6 P12 G Aaron Banks - Notre Dame
R6 P17 RB Kylin Hill - Mississippi State
Waddle could be a BEAST for us, we can move him all around the field and he can do damage any time he touches the ball. He is going to be the number 2 guy and will take over in the slot for Shep in 2022, where he will feast
Jenkins can step in and be the starting RG or RT, choice is his. This dude is MEAN and it shows on the field, unfortuatley his short arms might pigeonhole him to OG.
While Tryon ISNT my favorite pass rusher, the value is totally there in the 3rd. He has the size and length but his pass rush moves havent really been tied together.
Surratt is a very athletic LB who started out at UNC as a QB. He is a tackling machine and just has a nose for the ball, I believe that he has only been playing LB for 2 seasons, so he is only going to get better and fine tune his deficiencies because dude seems to be a VERY hard worker.
Banks is a massive human at 339lb, he isnt a finesse guy with impeccable technique, but he gets the job done. Great anchor, great punch, not a nimble or agile guy.
Hill is a short yardage banger who tries to run OVER opponents instead of making the defenders miss

Hitting the possible picks hard these days, and listening to a lot of the so called paid experts...Slater is the 11 pick if there, and I will take him 90% of the time. Only player I would question 50/50 if there with him would be Pitts and possibly Chase/Smith/Waddle. Here I got an extra 3rd round pick for moving down a few spots, and nailed IMHO, two day 1 defensive starters in the 3rd round. D'Ante Smith will not be a 6th rounder, watch those reps...and after watching some Memphis lately due to Coxie, I really like Gainwell...4th round pick who would be a great receiving back. His hands are superb...liking his potential, and would be a great fit on our system. Cameron McGrone has IMHO, pro bowl potential, 5 star recruit....a MIKE brain and instincts with nice downhill blitz ability...fits our system and would thrive. Anybody who watched a few big 10 Michigan games knows his name. Enjoy a new name sleeper I heard yesterday, the Whop...and after watching some reps...wow was I impressed. Small, great hands...shifty smart slot receiver who would be an instant weapon and piece to the offense. BYW...The UCF freak WR is no longer a sleeper after that pro day...moving on up. Damn this WR class is intensely deep. 11: R1 P11 OT Rashawn Slater - Northwestern 47: R2 P15 WR Terrace Marshall - LSU 76: R3 P12 DL Alim McNeill - North Carolina State 77: R3 P13 LB Cameron McGrone - Michigan 116: R4 P11 RB Kenneth Gainwell - Memphis 196: R6 P12 OT D'Ante Smith - East Carolina 201: R6 P17 WR Whop Philyor - Indiana TRADES Trade Partner: LA Chargers Sent: Round 2 Pick 10 Received: Round 2 Pick 15 Round 3 Pick 13

Dont get me wrong, I would be totally OK with Slater or AVT, Im just not head over heels for either of them Teven Jenkins, you'll love him. Probably the single most exciting player to watch in this draft.

Would be interesting if he recently had Covid-19 We saw how this sapped strength and athletic ability for up to a month with some Players (Jihhanadad with the NY Rangers was sluggish for months until recently] Seeing such a poor pro day this could be the reason

Damn this WR class is intensely deep. 11: R1 P11 OT Rashawn Slater - Northwestern 47: R2 P15 WR Terrace Marshall - LSU 76: R3 P12 DL Alim McNeill - North Carolina State 77: R3 P13 LB Cameron McGrone - Michigan 116: R4 P11 RB Kenneth Gainwell - Memphis 196: R6 P12 OT D'Ante Smith - East Carolina 201: R6 P17 WR Whop Philyor - Indiana TRADES Trade Partner: LA Chargers Sent: Round 2 Pick 10 Received: Round 2 Pick 15 Round 3 Pick 13 I didn't know Whop was in this draft I definitely remember him basically taking over the game when Indiana almost beat Ohio State when they played....that's good enough for me (against a now overrated Wade ) I just don't get the disconnect with Coxie with his athletic numbers and what I saw personally vs SMU and on tape...but it is what it is...get him as a.UDFA and see what happens Run forest run if Slater is there to the podium Bucky Brooks was talking up Whop last night on Path to the Draft. Thinks very highly of him.

When I use these mock draft sites, I've noticed a pattern regarding the positions that I think we need to hit in the draft -- Edge, IOL and WR.
If you take WR or IOL in the first, it is difficult to get a non-project Edge later in the draft (especially considering that this is a weak Edge class). Taking a WR or IOL in the first almost demands that you take an Edge in the second if you hope to have any chance of getting a non-project player (otherwise you're in the third taking more swings on guys like Carter and X-man).
However, if you take Edge in the first, you can get IOL and WR's later in the draft that should be immediate contributors.
This and the fact that the team is obviously focused on the need at Edge (evidenced by their pursuit of Leonard Floyd), makes me think that the strategy could be to go Edge in the first. Not what I would do, but I'm starting to think that they may follow this strategy.
If they are considering this strategy, I hope that they are doing it in the context of a projected trade-down

But I only see one edge that I would take that high in Phillips, but he has some medical concerns. Who knows though, maybe I am missing the boat on Paye or Ojulari or someone else that will be the next stud rusher.

The scenario actually works pretty well in a trade back where you pick up an extra 2, which will enable us to get a starting quality G AND a starting quality WR in the second. Maybe this will be the draft when Gettleman finally trades back!
