Bradbury and Martinez are and were great signings for this season. Fackrell seems to be coming an important piece as well. 3 successful signings you can put that in the plus column for Getty during all the bashing and weigh it in as you see fit.
Peppers has been a disappointment to me so far. but I am hopeful he proves me wrong. When McKinney heals maybe these 2 can give us a safety tandem that were hoping for. Holmes seems to improve every game. We might have rebuilt the foundation of this defense in one season.
Bradbury is probably not only the best player on defense but on the entire team.

How did this thread shift to Julian Love???
But speaking on Love, he hasnt been having a great season so far, not a terrible season, but an OK one. He wasnt drafted to play FS, but was seemingly forced there. Our FS shouldnt JUST be making tackles on the 2nd and 3rd level, they should be a ballhawking free roamer who could hold their own at single high coverage. Love at single high scares me, LOL, I dont know what the plan is when MCK comes back, is Love the odd man out? Is Love sent to slot or dime CB? Does he stay at FS and Peppers becomes the x-factor and play all over the field?

He has done an outstanding job so far this season. One of the few bright spots on defense, along with Julian Love imo One of two playmakers on this team

I was wondering too. Day to day, X-rays negative so that's some good news. They're saying there's a chance he plays Sunday but I bet it's next week. I wish they would keep him the hell off ST's. That's how he got hurt last year. Why? You afraid he might actually make a play? I think everybody has Sehorn flashbacks

Matchup of the season coming up. Bradberry vs Metcalf. Russ will throw the ball up to him regardless of coverage.

Wilson also kills because he lulls you into thinking he isnt running then he does. Especially in the 4th quarter.

Hopefully we can get at least 1 int out of it

HOW The F was JB snubbed by ESPIN www.bigblueview.com/2021/7/8/22568902/snubbed-giants-james-bradberry-cant-crack-espns-top-10-cornerback-listJalen Ramsey ---------------- 50.7 completion percentage against him . It is always unnamed sources. But still WTF. Who in their right mind would put Slay on that list over JB? Why not just put Darnay Holmes on it? He was better. Every Giant corner was better than Slay. Let me rephrase that. Every Corner in the league was better than Slay. Let me put this into perspective; Every Player in the League Including Linebackers with at least 80 attempts against them were better than him. Apparently Every Unnamed exec and scout failed to see how bad he was. You know the world is screwed up when Matt Lombardo is the voice of reason. gmenhq.com/2021/07/10/ny-giants-james-bradberry-nfl/With 474 snaps on the left and 396 on the right in 2020, per NGS, Bradberry traveled more than most CBs. In fact, he was one of just two corners to play 350-plus snaps on each side last season. Measuring his computer vision-derived coverage ability (passes defensed, targets resulting in no catch, interceptions and allowing fewer than 1 yard of YAC per catch), Bradberry had his best season to date. PFF agrees with my data, showing that Bradberry allowed just a career-low 70.1 passer rating last season

The problem has been the other CB's. Holmes has been awful, 17 recepts in 23 targets. He's gonna improve hopefully as he get learns the ins and outs of the pro game. Holmes plays the slot. I doubt if any of those DB's have good numbers defending passes. I would think you have to be a gambler and jump routes otherwise I would think a DB gets eaten up with all the room a slot receiver has to work with. Especially in man coverage. Unless a LBer steps into passing zone I don't know how you really stop the quick hitters. You know I think the jackrabbit would have been a very good slot DB. Quickness, gambler attitude. IMO must play zone.

Last year he's a rookie everythings new, no OTA's, no pre season. Other rooks went thru the same but as a 5th rd pick maybe he needed a little more attention. There will be competition this year, 2nd year in defense he hopefully steps up. He'll be the one targeted by opposing QB's in this secondary whenever they need a completion.

He had one of the worse Complete percentages against him in the entire league . If he continues to underperform in the pre season. He will be on the outs.

Adoree Jackson was brought in to play slot corner, imo, with Yiadom coming in on the boundary in nickel sets.

Yiadom will struggle to make the team in my opinion. Our biggest issue on defense last year was RCB, which was the reason Bradberry looked so good.
