... there should be an asterisk beside your username so the people who have seen the chaos from a field level view can interpret your opinions from a bird’s eye view.
That’s all.

Are you claiming anyone who hasn't played "organized football" has no right to comment on the NFL? Wow. I was rooting for you on your desire to join PFF, but this is just as silly as some of their ratings.

I have played organized football. Acting like everyone who has played is some beacon of knowledge is comical. And some people have never played and know an immense amount. Fake News.

I dont think the OP is saying that at all. I think what the OP is saying is if you haven't walked in a players shoes, then you really have no business critisizing that player. There is a difference in actually playing a position in organized football and getting your ass handed to you and knowing how that feels then someone that has no idea about playing the game and just talking shit like they do know. There is no better insight than actual experience and that is what I think the OP is stressing. But than again i could be totally off base so who knows

Only those that have played at least the high school level really know the ins and outs and some that played in college (like myself) have a more informed view and realities of what happens on the field and within a team. Anyone has the right to give an opinion on the Giants and their reasons for that opinion, but it is a fact that those with actual experience understand the game, politics, and reality of a team’s current status and future prospects......and right now both are heading down......and fast.

I did play for a couple of years in high school but learned most of what I know from playing tackle football on the city street in front of my house wearing only (poorly made and fitted) helmets.
I played in the "before foam" era....just leather and canvas straps inside.

The OP is obviously trying to taking a shot at those who give him a hard time for his football opinions.

Understanding the game is great, but there's something to be said for someone's communication skills and personality on a message board as well.
Who's actually going to listen to a knowledgeable prick?

I don't think he is as thin skinned as that. People give each other a hard time about their opinions all over the place on here, if one gets upset over that they probably shouldn't enter the scary world of a message board.

What do you think?

Yes...we played organized football in the afternoon, invented blues music in the evening...celebrated all night eating waffles...did tell him his metabolism would eventually slow up and to watch the whipped cream toppings...I'm not to blame for the fat Elvis. Elvis...knows more about football then Gunner

I think he believes that ones opinion should be qualified by one's experience playing or not. I think it is a silly opinion to hold, but I don't see any reason to read into his intentions behind what he said. For me I find most people on here have something of value to offer in their opinions. And those same people can have silly opinions for which they receive a hard time. Nobody here is an expert and we should stop expecting others or ourselves to be one.
