Did you at least get Namath's autograph??
What was that movie or show where the wife slept with Denzel Washington while she and her husband were separated but then later finds out it wasn't Denzel?
Sorry no clue..

I've learned way more about football being an assistant coach than when I actually played. I think a glitter star should be put after the name of anyone who's coached football.. I did for my son's flag team when he was in kindergarten!!

Better Off Dead is an overlooked 80s gem of a ridiculous movie, and therefore my comments should all be held in reverence... or - Im the first to admit I have no idea what Im talking about and just blather my opinion Better off Dead is an all time great movie. Just watched it again about a month ago.

What if you spent an evening with an inebriated Hall of Famer attempting to get in your pants? Does that count? I hope you're kidding but I have a suspicion you're not.
Nope, not kidding.

I figured. Sorry to hear that. Why? It's a funny story, nothing happened really except I got a stained shirt and a free Giants jersey out of the evening. Here I thought I was going to spend an evening talking Giants football with an all time great.....yeah, I can be incredibly naïve sometimes. Turns out that isn't what he was interested in....and he was really drunk.

You do realize there have been verry sucessufull HCs that never played a down. Nick Saban Andy Reid Jimmy Johnson Jon Gruden Dick Vermeil The more you convey you vast knowledge of football. The more it speaks for itself. PS : I played FB and ILB. Just because someone can fry an egg is not an indication that person is qualified to be a chef. You mean like if you work for PFF that doesn't mean you know about football, I get it. Their stat gathering is excellent. Their application of those stats into player ratings is worthless. I'm not sure one can draw conclusions about the individuals' knowledge by their use of a deeply flawed system from their employers.

We’ll have none of that here. Common sense I mean. What Frying eggs? Anyone who can’t fry an egg doesn’t deserve to breath.

I wasn't talking about their subjective stats. I'm of the opinion that a stat isn't a stat if it is subjective. I'm under the impression that they grade throws for accuracy and if a ball was catchable or not even when a defender drops an easy INT. Maybe I'm wrong but without knowing the assignments for each play how can they not be subjective with their analysis? I do find their grades as laughable at times especially when they kept giving Solder high numbers as defenders keep blowing by him every game..

Anyone who can’t fry an egg doesn’t deserve to breath. Excuse me, two people I love very much can't fry an egg. One of them I wouldn't trust to boil water without supervision.

Sorry I wasn't clear, those weren't what I was referring to. I consider them grades like the player ratings. That stuff is what they are known for, but not the only thing they do.

Or it wouldn't take me long to teach at least one of them. My sister and Beth OTOH, I've given up, I like my kitchen too much to risk it blowing up.

Either way, but I was team captain at the age of 10 or 11, and so I selected Rosie Brown with my first pick.
He threw one pass to me that game.
I ran what I would loosely call a wheel route down the left side maybe 20 yards. Rosie was looking right and then fired a pass right at me which I totally did not expect. That ball zipped threw my hands, as I had had a ball thrown to me at that speed. I also had never seen anyone look off a pass like that, so I wasn't expecting it.
To answer your Question Rosie about playing Football with someone that went to the Pros. My Brother and Myself both Played with Jonathan Williams he was a RB Form Somerville NJ who went to Penn State and played for Joe Pa. He was drafted by Bill Belichick with the NE Patriots. He blew his knee out in a game and never played another snap. He did however become a Trainer for the Patriots after his football career was done. I believe he held that job for 5 years. He now talks to kids about drugs and why being a criminal is not a way to live, His dad went to jail for murder when Johnathan was a very young child. Jonathan played football at a young age to make it to the Pros so he could take care of his mom. He was/is a great person, there is no Bullshit with him he is a straight forward type person with a HUGE HEART

So, you think you're better than me?
Ok....
How many of you posers have played football with a pro football player?
Of which, how many played with a Giant?
And of those, how many played with a HOF'er?
I win. What if you spent an evening with an inebriated Hall of Famer attempting to get in your pants? Does that count? Oh man, I don’t want to have to tell that story again. Besides, nothing awful happened, he quit drinking and I’ve moved on as well. It’s water under the bridge. If that’s not what you meant....nevermind.

I had aspirations to be a pro baseball player when I was young. Had a good amount of talent. Went to two showcases as a sophomore and a junior. I was floored at the size of some of these kids/men. As a comparison Freddy Patek was inspiration to me because of his size. My small size and mediocre at best grades and no colleges were looking at me. My Dad told me you either want it and need to dedicate yourself to it or be happy with being a really good HS player and move on. I chose the later. No regrets. I still play ball and enjoy it

Seems like a lifetime ago because of what was going on with my life back then. I might seem "mature" but I am not old.
