Going into 2021 we have to address WR and if Jones is our QB give him so legit weapons. I say we take a WR early. Maybe 2nd or 3rd round but I also feel we have to sign a Vet. Who would you want from this list of available FA’s in 2021
Allen Robinson
Keenan Allen
Chris Godwin
Cooper Kupp
Kenny Golladay
Someone Else
Or stick with Sheppard, Slayton and.........

Its well known how I really don't want to spend on WRs with how many come out in the draft every year, but because Gettleman went full George Young with only throwing crumbs at the position (think about how luck we are that his one crumb Slayton looks like a God send right now),we are in this position Even more negligent knowing we were looking to replace Eli
I'm actually jettisoning both Tate and Shepard...health and bad scheme fits
Gallup isn't listed and he is a no brainer for a FA... Knows Garrett's system so no learning curve...over the top deep threat, good route runner
Not a number 1 ..but having 2 complimentary high end number 2 types(which is where I think Slayton ends up)that can take the top off the defense immediately helps the entire offense..takes players out of tbe box, less stress on the O line (which hopefully has improved to being a good young unit by 2021) And also doesn't force whomever is making our draft decisions into a reach early and less panic moves later in the draft.
Definitely need at least one in tbe draft very early this year, again, dynamic playmaking game changing ability needs to be the attributes(route running, speed, catch radius, post catch

FA should be rich in WR talent in the first few rounds. I'd much rather draft our future WRs, rather than shell out to much money in FA, that being said we'll have some money to play with and I'd welcome a proven WR.
If I were to have it my way though - we get at least 2 WRs we know can play if that means one of the FA guys (for a decent deal) and an early round draft pick count me in. I have no interest in shep and Tate any longer. Wide receivers next year should be slayton and 2 guys we get via drat or FA and any combination of such.

Shepard's not going anywhere if he's healthy.

Getting weapons and building around the young qb has to be priority number 1 from here on out...Acorsi added Burress (because he sucked at drafting recievers) But no matter what major allocation of assets across the board are needed here

Fixing the OL and providing a semblance of a running game is of a higher priority to his and the team's success than a WR. Maybe with Barkley, Thomas, Peart, Hernandez, Gates and Shane; they have already done that for the next 4 seasons. Though at this time we don't know that. I think even a slower Barkley will be plenty of running game if those 5 work out. So if that is set.....yeah, WR, ER and CB are top priorities in FA and high draft picks IMO. Big if on those guys still, but we have 12 games still to see.

We have absolutely no playmakers on offense. Barkley really was the only legit threat and he only lasted till week two. Engram has the potential to be a mismatch problem week in week out but it seems our coaching staff can't seem to exploit those mismatches from week to week. Yes WR is an absolute must in free agency next year along with early in the draft.

No outside threats other than Slayton with a young line is why Barkley was seeking multiple defenders in his face because teams didn't respect anything other than Slayton.. I understand the importance of running the ball for a young QB but he is still learning the speed of the game, and if nobody is getting quick seperation within a few seconds it hurts his internal clock that needs to speed up as well..

If both of those are not in a stable state, its like buying new windows when you are homeless.

Passing on a guy like Quez Watkins in tbe 6th was inexcusable at that point... We now have to pray a guy like Ratley can be somewhat functional at best so Jones can show some improvement

It takes 5 players to make a good OL and only 1 to make it garbage. Deciding that Watkins was some prime get over Brown right now is at best premature. If either were all that prime picks they would not have been there in the 6th.

Getting the 2 tackles and C right alone makes the entire unit better as a whole, and very good chance Hernandez improvemes..leaving possibly Lemieux for Zeitler...

I think many things can be true at once.
1. Our OL is not consistently giving Jones enough time to make a read. There were a few instances I saw where the pocket was completely broken down before any of the receivers even had a chance to make a break.
2. Jones is not progressing through his reads fast enough. He makes up his mind pre-snap, and if it doesn't work out the way he anticipated, he takes too long to adjust.
3. Our WRs just aren't scary. Even Slayton.
I've never been impressed with Sheppard. He's always seemed like a JAG at best to me.
Tate no longer able to get the YAC he used to.

Watch the play from the Baldy breakdown in the first drive where the 3 receivers stopped cut their routes short to block, when it was a passing play.

I don't care about the individual quality of the players. I care about how they work as a whole. I believe that an Offensive line should be constantly and consistently fed with talent. So that even when individual quality decreases in one spot or another the overall play is not significantly impacted. It is why some teams seem to always have a good OL every year even as pieces change or players fill in for injuries. The Giants were in a position to do just that years ago. But instead they stood pat with what they had, addressing other positions until the unit deteriorated. Then made a few desperate draft picks with mixed results, after it had already deteriorated. So much too late. We have been dealing with the ramifications of that decision for the past several years. So now we are in build that line mode, maybe we have 5 pieces that are good enough to make a quality line, to early to say one way or the other. But I promise you, if that position is then left to stand pat again without an annual infusion of talent, that quality base line will be short lived at best. They don't need a great line, they need a stable line that can be relied upon by it's QB. We are not there yet today, I am hoping we will be there by the end of this season. If we are, by all means, target a WR high in the draft or spend money on a top flight guy in FA, I wholeheartedly agree with that point of yours that we need one. I just wouldn't do it at the expense of securing the offensive line, because it is significantly more important than any individual talent at WR.

I think Shep is a solid guy to have, and worth paying, if you already have a #1 type guy at WR. He's more a complimentary piece, as is Tate and Slayton. Which a bunch of complimentary pieces can be enough, if you have a good running game/OL and a very good QB. Like Elway, P.Manning or Rogers. A guy like Eli or Ryan, really needed a #1 out there like Burress, Nicks or OBJ. They need an OL/running game more, but they need a #1 too. So Giant Legacy is 100% right when he says we need one IMO. Since, while I really like Jones; I don't see Elway or Rogers in him.

Honestly all you need is high end number 2 guys that can threaten the entire field to force defenses to defend the entire field... I don't even think Tyreek Hill is a true number 1...what makes him is a bunch of other dynamic threats on the field and Kelcey..taking Mahomes out of the equation (but him stepping into that talented team helped) Who on this team in the passing game threatens opposing defenses....just Slayton and because we have nothing else he is an easy deal

Nicks, Cruz and Manningham were ALL complimentary players. We just need the right player in the mix with Slayton and Shepard and we’ve got a good group next year. And we need to figure out what our future is at TE.

Our wide receiver position isn’t a hole. It’s a black hole, and anyone who gets too close disappears into oblivion. See Slayton over the past two weeks. Last draft was the year to address the position. When you have a draft class with solid players across the board, you take one. That was a blunder on Gettlemans part. He trusted Shep, Tate and Slayton to carry the load. And as we all can see, they can’t.

I dont think we have a Glaring Hole in WR. I do however think we need a Tall, Fast, Sure Handed, and Strong WR to go along with the ones we do have. We need "THAT GUY" who can allow DJ to throw the 50 50 Ball up and have the confidence that the Wide Out will win that battle. Also the guy who can reliably catch the Back Of The End Zone Fade pass. We really havent had "THAT GUY" Since Burress. Do we absolutely need him? NO but it would be nice to have him especially for a Youn QB to help with his confidence going forward.
Glaring Hole at Wide Out No we dont have that

Which a bunch of complimentary pieces can be enough, if you have a good running game/OL and a very good QB. Like Elway, P.Manning or Rogers. A guy like Eli or Ryan, really needed a #1 out there like Burress, Nicks or OBJ. They need an OL/running game more, but they need a #1 too. So Giant Legacy is 100% right when he says we need one IMO. Since, while I really like Jones; I don't see Elway or Rogers in him. You need complimentary guys at WR. Good slot players are complimentary guys. Nicks, Cruz and Manningham were ALL complimentary players. We just need the right player in the mix with Slayton and Shepard and we’ve got a good group next year. And we need to figure out what our future is at TE. When was Nicks ever a complimentary player? When he was with the Colts and washed up? Because with us he was a #1 receiver who demanded opposing teams attention. And every team not named the Chiefs just needs the “right player.” To have a good group.

Nicks got Cut from the Giants or wasnt resigned, (i dont fully remember,) and went to the Colts after his leg injury. He eventually got cut from the Colts afte I BELIEVE 1 Season, and came back to the Giants. He didnt last long he couldnt ever get separation, and his days in the NFL were over. The leg injury he had gotten destroyed his speed and his ability to make cuts. His route running if you want to call it that was and Im being nice UGLY. He should have just retired afte the Giants let him go the first time. The 2nd stint with NY, I truly believe was the Giants showing some compassion and a thank you to Nicks. (There is no fact to that anywhere it is just my opinion on his 2nd go with NY) Because he should have never been signed and everyone knew it

Going into 2021 we have to address WR and if Jones is our QB give him so legit weapons. I say we take a WR early. Maybe 2nd or 3rd round but I also feel we have to sign a Vet. Who would you want from this list of available FA’s in 2021 Allen Robinson Keenan Allen Chris Godwin Cooper Kupp Kenny Golladay Someone Else Or stick with Sheppard, Slayton and......... Golladay is the guy you want.
