Not good enough...just like every one of his games. Becoming a bad trend. I guess you.... had enough?

And Jones set an NFL record as a rookie for 4+ TD games. ...before his coach was ran out of town. And we Won the Suoerbowl in 2012. We have to focus on the now, not the past You would have benched Josh Allen. There were still people calling him a "bust" who couldn't throw an accurate pass before this season.

I mainly heard from the media is how inaccurate Allen was and some thought you can't fix that. Kept on hearing how he set some type of record for not having a 300 yard passing game in 2 years.

People like you are the reason QBs and Coaches get replaced too early. Yes, a guy who is in Year 2, who has had a below average line which has a retread RT at C, a rookie LT, journeyman RT and a young LG who looks lost at time. We have 1 good lineman. We also have 3 slot receivers vying for our #1 spot... Not to mention, a new head coach, offensive coordinator and QB Coach. 2, in 2 years. Yeah HOW DARE HE not perform like Pat Mahomes who has a great line, multiple good running backs and a 4th WR who is as good as our #1. I mean clearly Jones sucks.
You guys that have obviously never played organized football don't understand how hard it is to orchestrate an offense at ANY level. Let alone an NFL offense you have months of experience in where you have a rotating door at RB, WR and OL.
The guy is running for his life every play because noone is getting separation at the same time the pocket is being pushed into him.
Sorry bro. In the modern day NFL, if you can't throw TDs, you are not long for the QB position. I assume you never saw Jones in college. This is literally who Daniel Jones is. He wasn't a top prospect for a reason. He was over drafted. He doesn't make the team better. He is a cog in a wheel. That's not franchise QB material, that's backup QB material. No one is looking for Mahomes, but what we are being delivered is worse than Dave Brown. "You guys...never played organized football.." blah blah blah. Same old apologist crap. Doesn't take a QB coach to see a good and bad product on the field. Right now Jones is delivering a bad product. Right I forgot he went to an offensive powerhouse where he was a complimentary piece just like Dwayne Haskins who put up gaudy numbers in college. How's that guy doing BTW? That's who everyone wanted us to draft. Daniel Jones played with a plethora of NFL talent... this poster surely knows what he's talking about just look at this list of players drafted out of Duke since 2016: Jones - 6 ....and that's the list of players from Duke with NFL aspirations. EVEN SENIORS when he was a freshman had 0 NFL players. At Duke Jones was asked to carry a bad team... which he did a pretty decent job of. I mean I can keep posting logical responses to your guys incoherent and completely ridiculous responses. Its really easy to blame people without context. It is why Eli sucked for the better part of a decade. We had great talent around him, look at every receiver who left the Giants who was good with Eli... or running back... or offensive lineman. Right... how many players who played with the Giants got a 2nd contract after leaving here... 0. Pat Mahomes is being hailed is the greatest ever... he lost to the Raiders today, who aren't much better than we are. People have to come to grips with the reality that Jerry Reach left us with a BAD BAD BAD roster. Even the role players sucked. Gettleman has taken a few shots and ultimately has found a few good and a few bad players. The one thing he hasn't done is jacked up our cap. If you want to blame him, fine. But this is a snowball effect caused from years of bad drafting and average drafting over the last 3. You guys ignore we aren't getting separation from our wideouts, a pocket or a push from our lineman and our tight ends have dropped a league high amount of passes. Which QB succeeds here.

Im thinking garrett is lacking in red zone offense and shumur was better for jones. Hard to say, these guys have had 1 third of the time to learn the offense they usually do and its another brand new scheme for a guy who handt played a full season. Not to mention a lot of these guys he's relying on he hasn't played with before. He has 5 starters returning from last year at their original positions, and all of those guys are learning a new offense. Of those 5, 3 are on the first contract and of those 3, 1 hasn't missed tons of time due to injury.

And that's the scary thing ..it gets early late in tbe season This is the part of yhe season i expected a jump in overall play and team development Garrett showed her is out of preseason mode for sure Using Engram on the end around was brilliant... Started to see more screens and misdirections.. I'm afraid he doesn't have the weapons outside to really open up what he wants to do..i think he is hoping Ratley starts to develop more than he has,but if he couldn't have even a moderately productive game against that defense its not a good sign for him ..

This is who he is. He hasn't improved on his college self. At Duke he might have been better than the rest of his team, but he sure wasnt special. He failed against the upper level talent everytime. Whatever load you credit him for carrying, there was a good reason he wasn't a top prospect like Kyler Murray. His talent was at best forgettable. You think pointing out the fact he was on a bad team at Duke and now a bad Giants team logically proves something? Maybe further proving he was completely over drafted at 6, which we can definitely agree on. He AND Haskins were not first round talent. What you had were 2 desperate teams making bad picks in a bad QB draft class. Jones gets a be special handicap because he came from a crappy school. How's that working out for you? In terms of Reese, he obliterated the team. You know what Gettleman has done to fix it? Literally nothing. 0-5 after a 4 year rebuild. No probowlers. 6 first round picks and nothing to show for it. No pass rush. No decent WR after he cast off Odell. Our line is still the worst in the league. I don't think there are even any players left from the Jerry Reese era except engram and shep. This team is all Gettleman and it sucks.

With Jones, he is not a great QB or anything BUT I do think like a Joe Flaccoo, you can potentially win with him BUT everything around him would have to be perfect. They would have to build the perfect Offensive Line for him and would need a Offense loaded with Weapons everywhere and just MAYBE you can win with him
With that being said, if we have the #1 or #2 Pick in the Draft, he is not good or talented enough to pass on guys who are more talented and have a high ceiling and have shown they can actually WIN and perform at a High Level vs Top Level Talent and in Big Games! One thing about Fields and Lawrence, very smart kids and they PROTECT THE FOOTBALL! Fields have like 45 TD's to only 3 INT for his career at Georgia and OSU. Lawrence is 76 TD's to only 12 INT's. However, Both Players do play with a TON of talent around them

This team is all Gettleman and it sucks. You can't ignore facts because it supports your narrative, this is what uninformed or ignorant people do to win arguments. Lets analyze the facts. 1. Jones didn't play with NFL talent while he was at Duke. While not playing with a SINGLE NFL TALENT in his entire collegiate career he managed to win a bowl game against a team that had 10+ NFL draftees. 2. When you try to carry a bad team and elevate their game you make mistakes. Which is what he did at Duke and what he is doing now. If not for a few ridiculous penalties, we win this game by 10+ and the narrative about his play is a lot different. Analyze our last 4 offensive snaps. He was RUNNING for his life in a collapsed pocket repeatedly. a. Jones sprinting out of bounds throws across his body with good ball placement to lead the receiver to stay in bounds. b. Slant pass where the defender interfered, was said over the broadcast. Almost picked. c. Short run. d. Jones sprinting again, almost finds the back but the back kept running instead of sitting in the zone, as Romo and Nantz point out.
So where does a Rogers \ Brady \ Mahomes \ whoever you want succeed here? Rogers might escape and Wilson probably does and none of them make that throw because the RB they are throwing to has been on the team for now his 2nd week and doesn't know what the QB wants of him in that spot. 3. Your expectations from a year 2 quarterback who still doesn't have a competent tackle at either spot is that he reads the entire field in less than a second and makes a perfect throw. Fans have complained for years we need a mobile QB, well we have one, who has an accurate and medium strength arm. I have noticed Jones improve greatly in 2 areas. Frontside\Flanked fumbles and climbing and escaping the pocket based on the dictated blitz. Outside of those factors he can control nothing more. 19 out of 20 guys fumble in that spot where he fumbled today. Hit square in the back with the arm pulled away from the body. Big Ben is probably the only active QB who doesnt fumble there on that hit. I want my guy fighting whistle to whistle, which he does. He slides when its not crucial and he fights for yards and has gotten big first downs. Until we can stop a 4 man rush semi consistently or pickup a vanilla blitz you can't expect much growth outside of that.

Unacceptable offensive performance against a team that's giving up over 400 yds per game. On our final drive we're throwing screen passes and losing yardage. Unbelievable. I've defended him, but Andrew Thomas is a huge problem. I agree. But the problem is the Giants situation. DG drafted him and will not want him benched. JJ is almost certain not to lose his job, so he might be a lot more willing to give Thomas a lot of rope to try and prove himself. But he was horrible yesterday. DJ should have just started every pass play by rolling to his right...

DJ once again did nothing to impress. The fumble was on Thomas, but DJ continues to run around with one hand on the ball. I will give him credit, after the fumble there were multiple occasions he broke the pocket with both hands on the ball and brushed off defenders trying to strip it.
I also feel like we aren't pushing the ball down the field much. That last drive before Dallas' game winner was pathetic.
While I like Slayton and what he brings, it's obvious we need help at WR. Little separation in their routes, and next to no YAC. I'll be interested to see how we address WR and TE next off-season.

I thought most of his throws were good and accurate. The go ball to Slayton and the late one on the sideline especially.
But he was very disappointing in those last 2 minutes. Go down and win the game.
I don't think he needs to go immediately, but if the team is in a spot to take Lawrence, you do it and don't look back. Not sold on Fields given OSU's track record with QBs.

And we Won the Suoerbowl in 2012. We have to focus on the now, not the past You would have benched Josh Allen. There were still people calling him a "bust" who couldn't throw an accurate pass before this season. The are gonna give him every chance to succeed. DG certainly did not set him up the way they did Eli in his second year, they got the OL fixed around Eli with some vet help in Mckenzie had Toomer all ready Added Plex who was top 3 with out even trying Shockey was here Tiki was a dual threat. DJ is growing with a bunch of young OLs and doesn't yet have the receiving core he needs. Don't know what they can find out with a first year QB running for his life with a2 man WR core at he moment Ratly and Board are not contributing at all.

The reason you stick it out for a 3rd season with Allen and don't with jones is just that.. TALENT. Once Allen fixed his accuracy issues that upside was obvious, he has no other major flaws Jones not so much, he doesn't really do anything great. Jones looked more polished then Allen in their first 16 games he certainly doesn't have the cannon but he has the toughness and mobility, given time and weapons he was actually more accurate in their first 16. Also Allen is in his third year in the same system playing with play makers and a solid OL. Jones is on Game 5 of a new system with 0 off season little on field time for training camp in his first full season as a pro, not Ideal for a young QB. He might not be the guy but these 5 games aren't gonna be the deciding factor it will be what he does once they iron the OL out and how he does as he gets used to his new offense.

Every player would like to be surrounded by stars so the team can feed of each other making everyone better and most importantly win games.. I'm just commenting on the fans who throw out that Lawrence won't make the oline play better or the receivers to get separation as a reason not to select him.. I feel bad for Jones and Darnold while we are at it to be put in such bad situations but then again I see what they are being paid for their troubles so it could be a lot worse..

All the DG talk if this OL doesn't improve quick that will be his undoing because you can't evaluate the rest of the offense when it's a house on fire.

Most posts seem to think Lawrence is an immediate upgrade. That if they swap places right now the Giants would be winning. Which is understandable because DJ has not been helping himself or the Giants much. I just don't get the logic that replacing QB who needs a talent around him with a QB who only played with talent around him fixes the issue of the missing talent.

I was under the belief that most fans who want him feel he is the much better long term prospect. I'm on a couple of other sites and I wouldn't say most feel Lawrence would make them a contender at this time.. If you don't understand the logic of moving on from Jones to a player so highly regarded then that's on you which is fine.. More then likely the Jets are going to get him unless he pulls an Eli so all this early discussion is just for fun because we will never know..

I guess that is where my problem lies seeing how the next great QB has been in every draft the last couple of years. I am probably just skeptical that Lawrence is that guy again. I like him but he disappointed me last year in the championship. Even with all that talent he couldn't pull off the win. Joe Burrow just played better.

I hate going back but yes this roster and salary cap were rock bottom in 2017. 0 talent and 0 depth the only thing I will say his first draft is going into their 3rd year he doesn't even have one draft going into there contract years yet this is an extremely young team, and the cap is in good shape not as good as it would have been before covid but still ok. DGs issue is he has not hit on impact players on the defensive side of the ball Barkely is one and Jones for all the complaining these same guys wanted Darnold Rosen or Mayfield who is on a stacked team and still struggled and they still don't ask him to do to much. Jones has a good chance to be a very good NFL QB but the Giants need to do what they did for Eli and get this kid the help he needs at WR and make sure that OL develops or they keep working it till it's right.
