Reports are coming out that Deshaun Watson no longer wants to be in Houston. Would you guys make a phone call to see what their asking price is? How much would you be willing to give up?

Seems the Giants are all in on Jones. At least that is what they say. You don't have to agree but if they are all in they there is no way they will even inquire.
If that's not the case then I assume they will do their home work on that.
With that said I see no reason why the new GM wouldn't want him. He is a very good QB that is worth keeping and building with.

Are we a qb away ? Nope Horrible idea 1. Massive amounts of prime draft capital would be needed to do this, which means he would have the same bad weapons Jones had this past year 2.all of a sudden our cap gets jacked and we don't have $$ to resign any of our D linemen ...and no premium draft picks to replace

Not interested at all. Anyone in the media linking us to trading for or drafting a QB doesn't really know this team IMO.
I don't blame him for wanting to leave. Imagine having Hopkins then they trade him away for a bag of peanuts?

Watson would be an instant upgrade, but a trade? What would be the cost? Would we package Jones too?
Not sure thats wise when you also have to think about money involved.

Make a phone call? Absolutely.. Any team that doesn’t have a franchise QB should make that inquiry. And last time I checked, we’re one of those teams. Now, I’m reading that it’s going to cost too much. Which is utterly ridiculous. Great quarterbacks are costly and well worth it. That Texans team had no business winning 4 games. Watson was a one man show, he didn’t need great players around him to succeed. You know, like OUR quarterback.
Is any of this feasible? No, the Giants are a patient franchise that shies away from moves like this. Now, that our GM is retained no way would he would sign off on this move. I will say this, if the Texans are really moving on from Watson, there will be a potential franchise thats getting a great young quarterback. Players like this normally don’t hit the market. I guess we’ll keep hoping our moves come to fruition.

I would definitely consider it. He is a significant upgrade at the position. I would rather get a guy like this than wait two years trying to figure out if Jones is the guy.

He's one of the best QBs in the NFL right now hands down. That Texans team would've been picking first if they didn't have him as a QB.
that being said...
He'll cost to many big draft picks, and this team needs all the high level draft capital it can get. If they were set and all they needed was a QB hell yeah. Right now, you gotta ride the coat tail of daniel jones, get the team in the best shape as you possibly can and HOPE that daniel can take advantage of it.

Interesting smoke in Miami that some hypothesize there is a little doubt about Tua
They could be a QB and a few playmakers away
And i think they have cap room
Their 4th ,next years 1at..throw in Tua ...

I have no idea where this idea that Watson wanted out came from but I really dont think he wants to leave Houston.
Regardless, I would not want to trade for him.

The only thing I saw was he tweeted "Some things never change..." a few hours after Houston signed Caserio as their GM. But what also broke that day was the news that officers who killed a guy in Wisconsin werent going to be charged, so that could really be what his tweet was about. Which means all this hoopla about where Watson should go is the biggest waste of time ever.

If the question is, were the Giants a QB away from the playoffs this season? Then yes, anyone who doesn't think that Deshaun Watson can't win us another game is crazy. Had Deshaun Watson been our QB we would've been easily 10-6. An that's all your looking for as a GM is to give your team a chance, anything can happen once in your the playoffs. Deshaun Watson is the type of guy that can elevate those around him, not the other way around. It would be GM malpractice to not make a phone call and see what their asking price is. Problem is though I think their asking price would be astronomical, or they would just say that he isn't on the market.

And that is my answer If we had even moderate NFL weapons better than the trash we have and close.. You make this deal .. I brought up Miami because that is a team that could be an instant qb away and have a ton of draft assets and cap room We are not in that position But some people want to make my comments into something not even related to the subject

Watson, Curtis Samuel and a 1st round WR doesn’t sound too bad.
I love Jones, but when a Watson type player is available you have to at least look into all possibilities.

I think your correct the new GM will more then likely smooth things over within and get him some weapons. probably trading Hopkins away didn't help matters.

The only way this would work is edtend Watson 2 years and convert 2021 and 2022 salary into bonus Because if you don't we lose 2/3rds our D line in FA and with loss of draft picks in trade how do you replace them.. Our 1st this year will be mandatory so no WR .... Its not that easy when the team still has major holes and not enough draft assets to keep adding talent

For me, personally QB is the most important position and Watson is 25 years old and an absolute stud. People pretend like Jones has no support here. Well, if thats the case Watson has about the same level of talent around him if not less than Jones. He completed 70% of passes, had 4823 yards, 33 TD's, a 8.9 YPA with only 10 turnovers. You cannot even compare these with what our QB had to offer in a similar setting. If he's on the market, truly, and wants to come here you do everything it takes to do so
