So curious where Watson goes. My gut is saying NYJ because they have the draft capital to trade and still not mortgage their future. They can trade 2nd and 23rd overall this year, one of their firsts next year and wind up with Watson and still have 34 overall this year, and a first round pick next year. Missing out on Trevor Lawrence may give them a reason to pull the trigger too. Every team thats really in the Watson sweepstakes should be in the Stafford as well. Two teams are about to get a lot better. I don’t think Stafford and Watson are in the same talent tier not to mention the gate differential. IMO Stafford’s a bridge to your next QB; Watson is a long term solution. Stafford on a win now team like Indy makes a lot of sense

I wouldn't sleep on WFT or Miami either. You're right though. The Jets are the clear betting favorite. How would Washington get him? You including Chase Young? There are way too low in the draft Young would have to be a starting point. As great as Young will be, I would include him because I feel that the QB position is the most important one to square away. You fix that position and then worry about everything else.

Make the call but be prepared for major sticker shock because Houston knows who has the firepower that will want him... You know that there still some people in our fan base who think that the Brad Johnson or Trent Dilfer model with a great defense is enough to win the Super Bowl. Lol Yep All on BBV (the few here went back in the closet after as I predicted the Chiefs showed how modern NFL will look) We don't have the firepower to compete with these teams

You can get a good 5 years out of Stafford. A bridge QB is what Rivers was for Indi.

Our only chance would be if Houston views Jones as a legit young QB. If not they'll go with the Jets or Dolphins where they can take a QB like Wilson or Fields 2 or 3.

Jets and Miami will have all the firepower to outbid anyone and enough cap space not to have to let good players walk this year... (For those that want this please explain how we replace both Williams and Tomlinson, get an edge rusher ,and most importantly the dynamic outside playmaker we are in dire need of to have a modern NFL offense that can threaten the entire field with no 1st round picks the next 2 years and our cap now jacked with a qb being paid?) We don’t. We just sit back and enjoy the cornucopia of championships he will deliver despite the rest of the roster. Same as for every great QB sometimes.

Houston does not get a QB in a deal w/the Skins. And I appreciate the sarcasm, but the teams that win the SB pretty much confirm you need a Watson. We could try being the Eagles with Nick Foles or the Ravens with Joe Flacco, but it's much easier to be the team with Brady, Mahomes, Rodgers, Manning, Manning, Brees, Favre, Aikman, Montana etc.

I figured 3 to 5 which is a bridge for me because I don’t like to wait until the last minute.

Not to compare Stafford to Peyton but in 4 years with Denver he took them to the playoffs each year, to two SBs and won one SB. Teams would bend over backwards for even a chance at that success. 1-2 years IMO is a bridge QB. Rivers, Tyrod Taylor, even Bridgewater may end up playing that role for Carolina. Teams that are in win now with good D's and weapons but need a QB obviously will want Watson first but Stafford is the next guy up.

We tend to blur the line between top 10% and top 10ish to where they come to mean the same thing. You don’t need a top10% QB to win a championship, a top10(ish) QB will suffice. So while I do not see the teams that win the SB confirming that you need a Watson, if you realistically have a shot at a talent like that and can do so without decimating your team, you gotta take it.

Watsons at age 26 dont become available historically. His no-trade is a factor, but gotta call and be told no Watson wont go there or no we have better offers.

For selfish reasons we have to hope Miami wins the bidding war because it takes a team that could be in the market for one of the big 3 WRs out of the picture at 3 Houston takes a QB at 3 to replace Watson
More likely Chase or Smith fall to us

as much as I would dig seeing DJ develop as a NYG and become the the franchise QB I think he can getting Watson would be pretty freaking awesome. I just don't see the reality of it happening with how much firepower other teams have against ours that fans are illogically getting their hopes up (Jets have the number 2,Dolphins have the number 3...both trump 11 on their own Both these teams have 2 number 1 picks this year...that trunms us .. Jets have 2 number 1s next year so they can outbid Miami now .. We would have to give up this year's and next year's 1sts and 2nds to even think about being in the conversation .. We have no shot at this I am not getting my hopes nor do I think its going to happen realistically or not. I was just commenting that if it did happen I'd ultimately be cool with it

Jones, # 11, and next years 1. Need to call and make the offer immediately. Texans would probably want more than that.

If anyone thinks the WFT is giving up Chase Young in a trade you have lost your mind. With that said there have been proposed trades( by insiders) for Watson . Some variation of that. 2021 #1 Martez Sweat, Daron Payne 2022#1 ...................four first round players for Watson. The Jets round 1 is worth about 3 of Washington's round 1s in and of itself. # 2 overall is valued at 2600 and this is a QB year which makes it even more valuable, v the Skins # 19 which is valued at 875. All Round 1 picks are not created Equal and the Skins is too low as would be their 2022 1 if you put Watson on that roster. Jets can offer # 2 overall, the higher of their 2022 round 1s between theirs and Seattle's, along with Darnold. It will be hard for anyone aside from Miami to top that and if they get into a bidding war they can add picks.

No, and NO I don't think CY is the next LT but many in Washington feel that way about him, he is not in the discussion. no one knew LT was going to be "LT" after year two. You have all that history of who LT was saying "would you trade LT". Also the times were WAY different back then for QBs as well.

Now this all depends on where the Texans grade Tua with this year's class as well I personally think Tua would be the next best qb after Lawrence...yes he looked a little lost this year as a rookie but he really didn't have much around him playmaker wise and he was just coming off an injury and no real offseason/preseason So a franchise qb on a rookie deal and 2 firsts including the 3rd overall Unfortunately for us that also means Smith goes to Houston in all likelihood as they kinda need good weapons down there as well

Ultimately, I really wonder what the market will be for this kid. He's great of course. But why wouldn't he pull the same thing if he doesn't like a draft one year, or a hiring, or something else? I'm sure teams are asking themselves that.
And who has the capital to trade for him? The list is very short. That's why I still think there's a good chance he stays where he is.
