Watson has told the press here that he is pissed because the management of the team didn't include him in discussions for the new HC, this is part of whats wrong with the NFL, players telling management how to run the team and its going on in Green Bay with Aaron Rogers telling owners how he wants things, bad days for the NFL.. The NFL will not be bullied into decisions based on how their players feel. The NBA allowed that, and look at them. The players run the league, and the owners can’t do a thing about it. If I’m Houston, I’m not backing down from a player that is under my control. If he wants to get traded, I will exhaust every option before I make that decision. It’s not easy either, he has a no trade clause. He won’t dare sit out, for he will lose too much money as we saw with Le'Veon Bell. IMO owners who allow a no trade clause deserve everything they get, it takes them out of control and puts the player in the drivers seat, management should always run the business, look at whats happening in GreenBay, Aaron Rogers thinks he can tell the owners how to run the franchise, what kind of managers can let this stuff happen?

I wouldn't mind seeing Houston stick to their guns, and if Watson refuses to play, fine him and go after any money owed them. He can be fined $96k for missing minicamp. $50k per day for skipping training camp. He would owe the Texans $5.4 million per year for each of the next four years for $21.6 million in unearned signing bonus money he's received, and would lose $10.54 million in 2021 salary.
Of course I have no interest in their team's success so there's that to consider.

Haha that's how I feel. Do it for the league Houston! What these guys are teaching teams is: do not sign your QB to a long term contract

And at the very least never promise them involvement in anything other than on the football field!

Lol they will have to start putting clauses in the contract that specifically state the QB will not be involved and is not permitted to comment on organizational staffing and roster decisions

Update on the Deshaun Watson saga: imo, this is where the NFL should implement penalties of some sort or at least flexibility for the team - player has a huge contract and obviously doesn’t give a cr@p about the fans (the customer) or the organization b/c he has his money A. Return the bonus money, cancel the contract and allow a trade with no money attached B. Player can be traded but can’t play or be paid for year. There has to be some accountability for both the player and agent who signed the contract or the NFL has to implement some flexibility imo. This hissy fit but i keep my money approach is wrong.
