As this article rightly lays out, the New York Giants are being built in Joe Judge's image. Joe is the driving force behind this team. He is the face of the franchise. He's the reason players want to come here and stay here.
Forget the old thinking. Forget the way it "used to be". Like it or not, Joe Judge represents the new identity of our team.

Agree. Have felt that way since he got here, and I'm fine with it. There was a reason BB spent extra time with him, mentored him, and called the Giants to recommend him. I've said before... I hope he's here the next 20+ years.

All rise for the honorable Joe Judge!
Nothing less than superbowl aspirations are acceptable.
No more moral victories.
You are either first or last.
I like it.

Well, fwiw, I've thought this about Judge for a while. You could see last year that despite the 6 - 10 record, his players never gave up on him. They played hard right to the end of the season, which is the way it should be.

I am so close to predicting a 10-6 year for us...... I need to see how and what they do in the draft to cement my take..i feel they are a borderline playoff team as it is...
These players love him and you could tell last year ...

You definitely see a different “vibe” with the team ever since he was hired. So much you can feel it in the air. He sold a whole fan base in a 30 minute press conference. I’ve said this many times, he’s an exceptional speaker. He could sell you your own car, he can make an atheist believe. He’s that good..
I thought his 1st season was what most should expect from a new head coach. Some mistakes mixed in with getting used to the position. But, the one thing that never changed was his approach. After starting 0-5, that’s a death sentence to a team, let alone a new head coach in NY. But, he stayed the course and the team backed him. It’s so easy to quit on a losing season, but he got 53 guys to believe in what he was building and they never let up.
After reading the article it shows that Judge was very instrumental in bringing Golladay and Jackson on. Of course money helps, but like the author stated. He got two players to stay days away from their families to talk football. Could they have found similar deals elsewhere? Who knows, point is. He helped seal the deal with players vouching for him, and the program he’s building.
Look, I don’t know if he will be a good/great head coach. But, what I do know is he has an aura around him that players are flocking too. They want to play for him..

Nice of you guys to agree with us , took a while. So you now admit that Joe is running this team and not Dave?
I'd say that is a very positive step for you.

I think that joe judge will be the gm and head coach when gettleman retires, assuming he turns this team around.

If it’s Joe’s team i would say the Giants trade back like the Pats did so often.

Nowhere in that story does it say anything close to that. In fact, it clearly defines Judges' role as the coach who simply "signed off" on the players that Gettleman and the font office recruited. Do I think the players like him? Sure, but it was the money that brought them here. That's the front office's job. Joe has zero say in that.

Hopefully this is a sign the team will be good in the coming years. Good teams typically take on the identity/personality of the coach.

As i see it the team got weaker on both lines of scrimmage. I’m sure some will think this a playoff team b/c the signed a receiver yet the right side is a big question and a starting DT is gone while neither LOS has much depth and in need of starters.

I thought that was pretty evident when they hired him. Doesn't mean DG is just some sort of queen elizabeth figurehead.
Most good teams are built in the head coach's image. And I was hopeful the power structure would change a bit even if it wasn't super evident on the surface.
But, I will say, Pat Shurmur didn't have the personality to do the things Judge is credited with in that article. So, gotta love it.

Spend the rest of the draft getting wide bodies and I'm happy. Slayton played injured for most of the season and was doubled a lot. With KG on the field, a fully recovered Slayton is going to have a big season. Not worried about drafting a WR at all now.

If it’s Joe’s team i would say the Giants trade back like the Pats did so often. I'm afraid that trade the 49ers - Miami made probably knocked us out of the box. I assume N.E. makes a call to ask about Garapolo. Would you want to drop 9 spots to #20 and talk to the Bears ? If this is/was possible we should get a couple 1st rd picks and at least another 2nd this season. Any player that's on our radar now would be gone by then. And that's even possible if all 5 QB's aren't gone by the 8th or 9th pick. Carolina or Denver. I fear we've been by passed.

No kidding lol as has been said a million times the GM and coach have like philosophy. GM gets coach guys he wants Judge goes the extra mile and sells the winning CULTURE to close these deals out. Wow having guys selling it and recruiting for the team as well Peppers Ryan Barkely Jones and then the closer Judge comes in. Thats why I have said this is different, they have a leader of men for a coach and they have the same philosophy from top to bottom they have fired scouts and a coach if you don't fit you go. They are now truly a team first organization again no coach executive or player are above the team that include head coach and GM.

But your point is a very good one. Slayton is the # 3 right now he will no longer draw the teams #1 CB or #2 CB for that matter as long as Shep and KG stay healthy. he might end up the 4th option if Ross can stay health because when he was healthy he produced.

GM gets coach guys he wants Strange how some just can't understand this. The only issue I have with this strange thinking is, I think Judge and Gettlemen right now fit together like a glove they might not agree on everything but I think they are on the same page more often then not. I think Judge just like Shurmur has a ton on input difference he is excellent seller of his program and vision he breeds confidence the guys gravitate to that. I think they have a really good team put together top to bottom. I remember when the Panthers made it to the superbowl Gettlemen wanted Rivera and the players to have the spot light. He's the same guy he was when here when there and back here again people just make him out to be something he is not. He's are working talent evaluator who doesn't mix feeling with whats good for the team.

Column#2 Judge/ Graham/ Garret and cap space in 2020 and more cap space coming to help pay this years bills. Money and coaches philosophy are the biggest difference but money was big with #1 they had only 1 LB under contract and 2 OLs under contract and Issues at DB with 0 depth and little money to fix it all.

They will still have a tall task winning the division has 3 solid contenders in my opinion but when you spend you better win. I think they will if the hit on their draft they are gonna be in real good shape gotta remember they are still saying no Mini or rookie camps OTAs maybe 0 pre season so we can have crappy football for a month even this they are vets they need field time together.

Haven’t we done this already and do Giants fans really care about Tiki Barber’s thoughts on Judge? If Tiki said something negative like he did with Tom or Eli would it sway our opinions? Obviously not. I think we all agree that this is Joe Judge’s team. Just like it’s been each of his predecessors until they either resigned or got fired. For those of you who have needed this off season in order to appreciate Joe Judge more, I say welcome.
