When your the new kid on the block, get your ass to voluntary run through…whether you want to or not. Too bad. Get to work. I'm glad that I never worked for you or anyone like you. SG, I agree with you; but I think most people are just concerned with what appears to be several little things that have happened. Much of it blown up because he hasn't seen the field yet. If his music interferes with his football, this is a problem for me as a Giants fan. If it doesn't, good for him and have fun. My concern is I do not know if he is someone who is able to handle both or if he will prioritize football to the level he needs to in the NFL. Just concerns over the unknown, and I hope his performance puts those concerns to rest once he begins to play. That's more than fair. Damian Lillard, a basketball player who is actually great in the music industry (one of his records went gold I believe) balances his pro and music careers quite well. No one complains about his other job because he delivers on game day. I honestly feel that people are jumping the gun on the young man. The season really can't get here soon enough. The Giants did their due diligence on him and drafted him in the first round. I trust their judgment on him 100%. You have fans already calling him a bust or even comparing him to DeAndre Baker. Calling him a bust or comparing him to Baker already is a bit absurd IMO. But I think he has given a few signs for legitimate concern. So it is understandable that many are concerned. Either way we will see what happens, way too early to pass judgement.

I'd take that on if I was doing something important. But the work and commitment needed to excel at something that is nothing more than entertainment for others? Pass, no thank you.

You are so right. I was on the couch watching A Football Life reruns a couple of nights ago and watched the two part Lombardi and Emmit Smith and Jerry Rice episodes and all I could do was shake my head. We will never see that type of attitude and commitment again. And all the players addressed the media in ways not to embarrass themselves or the franchise. I miss it a lot and am on my way out of watching all together. Been thinking about it for some time. This same thing was being said about professional athletes during the Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice days. People just get this false recollection as if the whole league was made up of guys who carried themselves like the handful of legends we remember fondly. Furthermore, I'll point out the obvious and mention our own Saquon Barkley. Whether or not he'll go down as one of the legendary rbs of the nfl remains to be seen, but his attitude and commitment are every bit as respectable as the guys you mentioned. And how about guys like Tom Brady. I guess it's too bad he doesn't have that attitude and commitment of the guys from the 80s and 90s. Maybe he couldve won 20 super bowls with a better head on his shoulders. 🤔....or wait, are you only disecting the character of black guys who have an unfortunate interest in music you don't like and speak in a dialect you think is beneath you? As for Kadarius, give the kid a chance. I mean jeeze, he hasn't even played a game yet. I haven't heard/seen anything objectionable from him since he's been with the team. Getting beat up by fans for making some lousy rap music. It's not hurting anyone, let him live his life. Black guys?….Dialect?….First of all, don’t pull that color bullshit with me. Stupid knows no color. And that is exactly what he is. Dialect! Ha! It’s called bad English! Misspelled words is not dialect…it is stupidity and I’m sorry you think that I’m targeting him because of color. Now I’m going to really piss people off and say what I’ve been saying since draft day…..BAD PICK!….GET THIS GUY THE HELL OUT OF HERE!

This player or that player is the 1st in and last to leave is a common phrase used to talk up players. I've seen so many talented bowlers flop on tour because they weren't committed enough or at all to the practice needed both physically and mentally which was pretty much 24/7.. I still don't get why a player wouldn't want to be all in 24/7 for the handful of years they potentially have being a professional athlete then they could mess around with anything else on a professional level afterwards.. Olympic athletes better be all in if they want to sniff a chance on that stage as another example..

So would you be ok with Giants players not working out at all in the offseason and just showing up to the mandatory stuff? I mean, all the weight room and technique work that these guys are doing in the off-season is “voluntary”. He is a professional athlete and I am pretty sure that he has a work out schedule. A lot of them also don't show up for voluntary work outs while working out away from the facility. Blame the teams for not making the events mandatory. To answer your question directly, I would not have any issue with them not showing up for voluntary events. That's just me. Feel free to hold it against them for not being there. I just won't agree with that kind of thinking. Looks to me like him showing up for classes was voluntary as well…judging by his grammar.

This guy had enough talent and dedication to be a top WR prospect while having outside interests, right? It's not 24/7, and for very few players is it ever 24/7. Spend the time needed to excel and enjoy other aspects of your life.

His father took his childhood away from him, and put his failed dreams of being an athlete on his son. When kids were having fun being kids, Todd was going through quarterback drills and having his right arm tied behind his back. Todd had no choice but to become a basket case in part to the sperm donor who impersonated a father.

I did that because I wanted to say I gave it my all and didn't half ass it.. Disagree all you want but I was out there and witnessed some truly gifted players crash and burn due to partying and gambling too much without working on the game.. These football players have such a small window of success that they really need to be all in.. There is plenty of time for them to enjoy their outside interests but at the level of a 2nd profession is where I call BS..

I don't imagine he'll be receiving any invites to recite his song lyrics at the local grade schools anytime soon, but you never know these days.
IMO, it hurts children. It sends the absolute wrong message.
As for the player; he's being paid millions to help this football team. If he does that great. But right now I'm not feeling it are you?
I see a kid who can't get dressed properly, and one who skipped out on valuable reps with his new teammates and coaches. It appears he either doesn't care or is not very bright.
Maybe the Giants have a leftover "Talk Is Cheap" t-shirt for him from the TC days. He sounds like rhymer who could use it.

I reacted the same way (poorly) when Tiki started the non-stop PR campaign around his "next" career in the media while barely being two years into his playing career.
Correctly or not it sounds like a distraction away from what he's being paid handsomely to do......focus on playing football.
It may sound silly but if he called it a hobby, it would bother me less than referring to it as a career.

He can do whatever he wants in his off time. He isn't breaking any laws. I didn't like the song either since I'm more of a late 80's- early 2k hip hop fan. However, I'm not going to bitch and complain because he has hobbies outside of playing football. The same people complaining about this will be riding his nuts when he makes plays for the team. I have no issue with those clowning that song. I do have an issue with those questioning his integrity and work ethic because of it. That seems kind of coded IMO. I imagine all of us have imagined what it's like to have the talent to play in the NFL...all of us wanted that talent, I would guess. A truly bizarre concept. You want this guy, and every other player, to have some sort of life away from football...something he enjoys and wants to do. Who was that QB whose dad groomed him to be nothing but an NFL QB? Todd Marinovich is one guy that I can think of. The guy was basically given a football the moment he came out of the womb. That did not work well for him despite him being really good at USC. I think the problem is that fans always hold these players to standards that they don't hold themselves to. I am a proponent of work-life balance and never expect subordinates or other employees to think about work 24/7 365. They also expect the players to act just like they do. They hold music taste, political beliefs, and their personality against them. It honestly is really sad. I'm 44 years old and totally don't expect them to be anything like me. As long as they do their thing on gameday and stay out of trouble off the field, I couldn't care less about their personality. Fans care way too much about irrelevant shit. I can kind of understand the issue that fans have about him not showing up for voluntary meetings, but I disagree with them.

I'm glad that I never worked for you or anyone like you. I was a leader in the navy for my last 18 years there and I NEVER held voluntary events against my subordinates. I didn't care if they were fresh from a-school or someone with over a decade of time. I guess that’s what separates the boys from the men, squid. Like I said, your the new guy on the block…you break your ass to prove you will be there for them as much as they will be there for you. The people that know me away from these boards know exactly what I did for a living from 1995-2015. Where's your proof at? I've seen people on here call you fake and a wannabe marine. That hasn't been the case for me. Not showing up for voluntary events don't make you a bad teammate. Showing up for them also doesn't make you a better teammate than one that doesn't show up for them. What I see in you is that you are trying to hold someone else to a standard that you won't hold yourself to. You talk about about being a better teammate and showing others respect, but you do the complete opposite. How about practicing what you preach, "marine".

Tough to watch this "artist" with all the scenes cutting and flashing in and out, just seems, well horrible to me...
"International Player" is interesting choice, since it seems to be mostly located in either a sound studio, a car trunk or parking lot/park?
Besides, we already have an "International Player" called, Sandro Platzgummer!
I don't know if Yung's "Self Branding" works out but he certainly wears a bunch... Cartier-Bling, Dolce, General Motors and what looked like a Gatorade Logo hat to boot
Maybe Yung's next video could be just "Player" demonstrating route running, agility drills, being coached, playing in a scrimmage and memorizing the playbook
Now, that's "Branding" we'd all love to see here!

NYG rap battle! Jabril Peppers Corey Clement DAMNIT! NYG are screwed...too many rappers gonna quit their day job! Wow, i had no idea. Those two are way better than Kadarius. Jabrill's song was actually really good. Ya..different styles. Peppers was more east coast. KR is more new southern Emo Rap with the overused auto-tuned. My point in posting this is to show that KT isn't the first athlete\artist. That is just 5he ones I knew about from the NYG. I'm sure there are many more throughout the league. You guys are doing typical June stuff. Should be ashamed of yourselves but of course you're not because everyone is typing and don't have to face weird looks when you guys type absurd crap. People say the weirdest crap when you can ignore normal social queues and feedback.

You talk about about being a better teammate and showing others respect, but you do the complete opposite. How about practicing what you preach, "marine". With that attitude that you have I can tell you weren’t fleet Navy. You were probably stationed somewhere on base, huh? Because I’ll tell you what, when I was with those guys on the LPDs they did EVERYTHING. And we had to help them because when you’re on ship that’s the way it is. Each platoon in the company sends marines to each ships department because they are transporting us, we use their facilities, we eat their chow, we are PART OF A TEAM. Guess what…we helped each other, we volunteered! We invaded Haiti together in 1994….Operation Uphold Democracy. They provided security on the guns while we hit the beach in tracks. Don’t give me any shit! You weren’t fleet Navy!

I imagine all of us have imagined what it's like to have the talent to play in the NFL...all of us wanted that talent, I would guess. We look at a person who has the talent to make our dreams come true, and for some reason we assume that person would have no life outside of that dream....I assume because most of us would have sacrificed everything to make that true. 24/7/365. A truly bizarre concept. You want this guy, and every other player, to have some sort of life away from football...something he enjoys and wants to do. Who was that QB whose dad groomed him to be nothing but an NFL QB? All this discussion about commitment is just due to the fact we hear it ALL the time. Bowling is a sport of repetition. If you can not do it the same every time. That bowler that can is going to beat you. That skill level takes commitment day in and day out. You either have or you do not. You are born with that drive. That can't be coached into an athlete. I think that is true with any sport.

Am I the only person that does not care this dude wants to rap and makes odd social media posts? You're not the only one but I went from not being concerned to concerned. A knock on him coming out of college is that he wasn't fully committed to football and I think we saw that already before he even hit the field. It's not the rap but the attitude to me. Giants turned Toney from a college kid to a multimillionaire and he's out tweeting how he's more than a football player with a pissy attitude before taking a snap in the NFL. Don't think it's much to ask for him to be committed to football for 5-7 years of his life while getting paid the big bucks. This WR class was deep, the other guys are looking like professionals...but looks like other fans are more amused with Devonta Smith dropping a pass in practice.
