cuz he wasn’t the “sexy” pick and now people already have “I told you so” loaded... I honestly have no clue who these people think we should have taken at 20. Then again I doubt anyone will come out and say "this should have been our pick" because that removes the ability to come back in three years from now and use hindsight to make the better draft picks. Everyone that said we should take Rosen and Darnold instead of Barkley learned that lesson. 90% of the fan base doesn’t know the players projected after the giants in the mock drafts...it’s not their fault, unless you wanna talk from a knowing what you’re talking about stand point

Right. He’s a 4th WR. Anything we get from him this year is a bonus. Next year, different story. It’s just odd how fans are only focused on him. cuz he wasn’t the “sexy” pick and now people already have “I told you so” loaded... There were plenty of meat and potatoes picks we could've taken. Toney was definitely the sexy pick.

This is nothing but good news. How the discussion became about Toney, I have no idea.
Seriously? Giants fans are tired of losing, and this is what happens when your #1 pick puts a target on his back.
At the moment this isn't a good look but, I try to hold off on passing judgement early on I remember when Toomer was a young WR and Fassel had issue with him Toomer shaped up and got his Career going and ended up having along productive Career. Corey Webester fans were ready to give up on him luckily the teams didn't

Toney was the kind of WR they wanted to add or I should say weapon, If he shows up on time works hard while he is here and gives us all he can on the field that is all you can ask for, he was the 20th pick not the 5th or 10th or even the 15th. He will be worked in slowly I'm sure they have an excellent slot WR in Shep while Toney learns the ropes he is talented he just needs some polish to his game.

He made a tweet about football not being 1 bazillion % what defines him and people found out he likes to rap and all of a sudden any move the kid made had people hear hating him.
Like I said all along, all he needs to do is show up and produce and no one will care. If he fails a lot of folks here will be on the "I told you so" bandwagon, even though they cheered the move on draft night.

Can't do that this year There was one or two people that actually liked the thought of Nelson at #2. I had countless "discussions" trying to convince people that taking a Guard at #2 is not a wasted pick. The vast majority of people that were against Barkley were also against Nelson and all wanted a QB with Rosen and Darnold leading the pack.
Now with Darnold and Rosen both being off their teams suddenly people are acting like they wanted Josh Allen all along. You are right though they won't have a change of forum to hide their posts if they come out and say WHO we should have taken instead of Toney.

Exactly I'm standing by what I said I would have liked Waddle Freemen or trade out and I said specifically Toney. They needed an explosive weapon the can hurt a defense from anywhere on the field now if Barkely comes back healthy they have 2 and they can't just focus on SQB anymore, They will have Golladay / Shep/ Slayton and Toney and maybe Sills or Ross also to worry about didn't even get into the TEs lol. first time since LT was drafted I got exactly what I wanted.

I honestly had no clue which direction we would go but was happy with Toney. After watching more and more of him (and not following his twitter) I really am excited to see what this kid can bring to the NFL. Such a new age weapon to add to our offense. Could be lightning.

I disagree. No one has any idea what contribution we'll get from the rookies.
Toney made a point to not only show he wasn't all-in but to tell us as well. Again, he put the bullseye on his back. If he plays well, it will come off, and if he doesn't, Gettleman and Judge will have to answer for it.

OP: "Hey look Jones is a good leader and working out with a few of his teammates" TGB Members: "ZOMG Toney not there, he's a cancer and his career sucks, he's the reason we lost the last 5 years" You know who else wasn't there? Evan Engram. Maybe he should be working on not bouncing balls off his hands to the other team. Oh wait Engram is actually in Atlanta working out. People can train where they want. Unless someone reports that these guys are training no one has any idea what they are doing. Toney could be in the Giants facilities for all we know. He hasn't made a tweet in 2 weeks now, can we stop acting like the dude is just recording music and promoting that. We have no clue what he's doing. How many times did we see videos of ODB working his tail off with his teammates in the offseason? This does not somehow guarantee success or failure. On topic. I like to see this. Pretty interesting choice of players that Jones invited (yes according to Shep Jones invited the attendees). His starting WRs and RB....and a practice squad WR/former QB. I wonder if Sills was helping out with passing the ball. Also it seems like these groups are purposely kept small. Engrams group only had 4 players (Thomas, Ojulari and Crowder). Smaller groups means more work for individuals.
You're absolutely right which is why it's pretty strange seeing you resort to hyperbole in defense of him.
Toney wasn't the only WR who wasn't there. John Ross wasn't, and no one brought him up for obvious reasons.

Smaller groups means more work for individuals. My last comment regarding Toney was in his defense. I commented that we need to see how he performs on the field before we call bust. With that said, would you feel the same way about the situation if youn learned that Jones invited Toney and he declined for a reason other than an injury? Also, do you think Jones would hold a practice like this without inviting the Giants first round draft pick? None of Toney's individual actions are a cause of concern but all of his actions and comments taken as a whole are a bit concerning. Miss OTAs, argue with fans on social media, sound like a person with grammar school literacy on social media. Put out in the media that his life isn't all about football. Now he could have turned down an invite to build chemistry with the Giants QB. Like I said, none of these actions are a major cause for concern on an individual basis but taken as a whole, they should at least cause you to raise an eyebrow. Even if this kid ends up having a monster rookie season, he is causing undue stress on himself based on his actions...

I would feel different if Jones invited Toney and he decided not to go because he was doing none football stuff. I do think Jones would hold this practice without inviting Toney. It seems very clear he invited the starting WRs and RB. I'm not going to read too much into this stuff. I don't blame anyone for doing it though, it's a very slow time of the year.
I'm just trying to slow the shit storm people send at this kid. I even get it when he makes a moronic tweet, but now we freak out about this kid when things don't even involve him. Also I heard that he wasn't in Atlanta working out with Engram, Thomas, Ojulari and Crowder.

I always have three options if none are there always want trade most of the time except this year they have much different thinking then I do lol. After that it is for me, that at least the player picked talent matches draft slot so far they have been pretty good that way. I waffled between Mayfield if there Darnold and Barkely at the end of the day I would have been as happy with a trade down. I get the thinking Barkely is more of a multi talented weapon but we saw this song and dance with OBJ great player but with 0 OL or DL this team was sunk. Hopefully if healthy we will get to see the whole game of SQB I'm sure if we do it will be special.

My buddy was flying back to NC a week or so ago and DJ was on his flight. He tried talking to him. Says his personality is lame in person as it is in the interviews we all see. Its not an act....lol Him and Eli are similar lol. Difference is seems Jones can show his fiery side on field a little more then Eli. Eli kept that for the locker room. Eli always had the personality of a wet pretzel...

I noticed he wasn't mentioned as one of participants which could lead to speculation about why.
Maybe he had more important things to do, or maybe they didn't invite him.
I was surprised to SQB there! I guess he feels ok. Thought we were going slow with him, who knows how heeled he is and how good he feels.

Yes I absolutely believe that Jones would do this without inviting Toney. You don't see any scenario possible that can happen? It's not like the entire team was invited. Starting TEs weren't there, 2nd string RBs weren't there, 2nd string WRs weren't there. The only non starting WR was a QB.
Keep hating on the kid not knowing anything.
