if eventually a team's problem is they have too many good players to sign then some thing with their drafting and coaching is working very well. Its a good problem The problem isn’t us having too many good players, it’s that this GM has a history of also signing players that aren’t very good, vastly overpays for them and appears to lack a solid understanding of positional value. I could easily see him doubling down on Barkley and over paying him, possibly Hernandez as well, and if Jones is just mediocre rather than moving on he ends up paying him a hefty amount (assuming DG is still here). Its also not good when we have a bunch of players on short or rookie contracts and can’t capitalize on that with a solid playoff run or two. Time will tell. yeah but he hasnt done anything with Jones, Barkley or Hernandez.....yet. Getting annoyed at stuff he has done is legit. FAs that are "needed" at a position get over paid every year by team all through the NFL. Doesn't make it right but it certainly is not isolated to the NYGs. Like Solder for example. Not the best LT at the time but the "best available" and they were desperate. Happens all the time.

You mean "facts" like if the team doesn't have a winning season they will be in a worse position then when Getty was mistakenly brought on to be the GM.. That would make 4 losing seasons while he was GM so the team might look nice on paper that never materialized on the field where it truly matters.. What's truly funny is a fan claiming he's done more right then wrong while the teams record is 15-33 during his tenure of selecting at the top of the draft.. Why do Gretty fans bring up not signing Collins as some triumph but then claim the Solder signing was necessary and not his fault?? you really believe that lol, they were bad 2013/2014/ 2015 paid a kings ransom for the over the hill gang got a n embarrassing play off appearance out of it then proceed to be worse then ever in 2017 it was almost impossible being 13 /14 / 15 broke all kinds of Giant records not the kind you want to break, that spending spree expanded into 2018 cap hell and 19 being there was 0 talent or depth on a very expensive roster. sorry don't fix 7 or 8 year of ineptitude in 2 or 3 years the talent procurement issues started back as far as 2009 when the old nucleus was to old to play the Giants were done and gig was up. we as fans were lucky we got 5 good years out of that team. Eli Snee Diehl Suebert McKenzie Jacobs Stra Tuck Osi . Facts are facts the rehab process is hopefully over as I said none of this matters if they suck then he will be gone simple. But he didn't take over a team that needed a few good pieces and they would be on their way get were bad to the point of being comtetive was a big improvement to start. Even The other teams analyst say it you need to show up to beat the Giants it's not like it used to be they haven't been a for matt for a couple years now and he only has 3 in. you aren't gonna change your mind and I don't blame you and I'm not so we agree on some things lets talk about those things when we chat. talking about this we are wasting each others time. You discuss the three bad years 13,14,15 with a big FA spending spree to get a lucky 11 win season which is exactly like these bad years 18,19,20 with another big FA spending spree for the 2nd year in a row.. Lets pray that it's not going to end with the same results! I've also come to the conclusion you don't seem to see the "facts" with this team and it is a waste of time.. Enjoy the rest of your day..

Not only was it the most EVER for that position but he also ranked near dead last, or dead last, in several categories while playing for the Giants. For that kind of money, he should have at least sniffed a Pro Bowl and been consistently above average. We were also far from being one LT away from competing, as much as I hated Flowers, mine as well have rolled him out there for another year and saved the money or put it towards another position. I’ve beat that horse to death though so I won’t comment any further on it.

He played better than Solder for stretches at a time at least with giving up sacks/pressures but that might have been due to Eli getting the ball out as fast as possible..

You can blame Getty for giving him so much money to begin with but no GM has a crystal ball. I am sure the whole FO thought Solder would have played better. Flowers I totally disagree with you on. He was a waste on this roster. Whether due to coaching or whatever there was no place for him. Watching his film he was almost useless at a LT/RT. Head down 90% and not even seeing the task in front of him.

He was given so many opportunities but he never improved at his craft. For a mountain of a man, he was swiss cheese blocking, another first round pick wasted.

He still has some issues at guard also it's not like he has as ever lived up to his draft pedigree, As far as Solder goes this is what you get when you don't draft well they got zinged with OV 5years ago good player but was the second highest paid DE in the game curtesy of the Giants, He wasn't worth that, Solder the same thing when a team needs especially OL they have to do what they can to get one and they got what was supposed to be the best on the market, Don't want these things Happen keep drafting well and it won't. Teams don't let guys that are healthy in the their primes at premium positions get to free agency.
