They were getting the ball out pretty quick but Solder did handle him pretty good on most snaps Thomas seemed to have no problem with him, he will continue to grow and get better as time goes on.

But. But But.. Solder is more healthy then has been the last 5 years we will get some decent ball out of him unless he breaksdown, That said Chase Young was #2 pick how long before the Washington wolves get after him if he doesn't get into double diget game changing plays territory soon. Even Barkely produced big time rookie and even injured his second year.

Dealing with DJ running obviously slows the pass rush down as well. I really hope we see more of running Danny in the coming weeks. Even if its just enough to make the D-lines have to play contain more.

I could be wrong but in college wasn’t Andrew Thomas the antidote for Chase Young?

I could be wrong but in college wasn’t Andrew Thomas the antidote for Chase Young? Slater was the guy who handled him with no issues. Not sure if thomas got to face off against him in one on ones at the senior bowl or one of the other post season bowls. if not he would have just Covid screwed it all up.

Maybe, Giants certainly game planned around him and he would literally be our best pass rusher since JPP so...

Slater got rookie of the week in his first NFL game by causing Young to have the worst game of his career, but hey, we got an extra pick next year to replace the Pro Bowl OT we could have had and a WR who has two catches for negative two yards. Can’t wait to see how many more non impact players DG can draft with that extra first round pick.

Wow. That is incredible. Not sure which is worse his hand usage, his footwork or his willingness to so quickly give up on a play.

Chase Young hasn't done anything in three games vs. us.
Still a great player. If we overreacted to every game that Strahan maybe didn't get a sack, he wouldn't be in the hall of fame. Just kind of a ridiculous conclusion to come to. Sometimes the oline wins against the pass rush.
It's also only half of his responsibility. It's not like we were super successful running the ball against this front.

I guess you can see it that way but there are so many hot takes out here these days.. I'll stick with the one claiming the Defense would be top 5 even though they have no decent outside pass rushers and only one good MLB ... Fair enough but at least that was based on a season of marked improvement and additions to the D. Not based on one opening day performance. It’s also based on his performances in college and scouting report.

I don't know if he's underrated. I've seen him make some fantastic plays as a pro. I think what's more likely is Thomas is underrated as an OT. He's done nothing but improve since the halfway mark last year. Where's ol' "Wish I was a GM" Riddick with his expert opinion on who the Giants should've drafted now? He's been silent since the preseason.

Since the middle of last season, and the first 2 games this year, he's been quite good in my opinion.

I leaning more to Chase being overated. Especially on that DLine. He should eat up single blocks. What I am saying is I am not impressed by his performance.

Now, I'm not preparing for his coronation, but he's been much, much better since he recovered from his injury in training camp last season. Everyone forgets that he injured his ankle in preseason and had corrective surgery in January. But by all means, write off the consensus #1 OT going into the draft.
