To be honest it seemed like Toney was in a setup to fail, situation. 2 starters went down , limited practice this season, game reps and todays defense knew the Giants offense was going to be limited. What happened? KD imposed his will out there like a playmaker should do. No whining, the moment wasnt tòo big for him. KD your toughness is much needed.

I was ready to let Shepard walk 2 seasons ago. I still am. The way you’ve turned tail after trashing Toney the last 6 months, it's hard to take your opinion serious. I’m allowed…free country. I admit my fault. I’m not perfect are you? You know everything about pro football? If you do your the only one on this board who does.

I can jive with that Jomo. Also he had more familiarity with them now. Shep is always a gamer and one of the few catalysts they have. Toney I hope gets better and better. That kid is shifty as hell.

As long as you take credit for your misjudgments, that's commendable. I think you're clearly wrong about Shepard though. He has 18 catches or 223 yards in 2 1/2 games. He's having an insane season.

The unfortunate injury took Jones out of his comfort zone with Slayton, which is good. We decided to take the cover off the Ferrari with Ross and run her a couple miles on a beautiful Sunday. Looking at the Receiver Stats for this game has me smiling. Distribution & Big Plays.

Toney is by far the best receiver on this team since OBJ and its not close. He has NFL playmaker written all over him. His aggresion with the ball in hand is fabulous. Unlike other receivers who seem like prima donas and blink at the sight of a tackle. This guy is a video game. He had a couple of drops but the dude was absolutely gassed. He gets a pass in my book. +1000 Mr Toney. As well as he played today and how dynamic he looked, what impressed me as much as anything else was when he didn't force a throw down field when he had a chance to pass it. He saw there was nothing there, got what he could on the ground and didn't do anything dumb.

...the receiver corps we saw today is superior to the one that we thought were our "starters" coming out of camp. Of course Golladay was great but I'm talking about Toney, Board, Ross and Johnson all getting real separation and making plays.....with Shep and Slayton out. Thoughts? Finally got Golladay fully involved. Same with Toney. I can’t understand why it took losing the first three games to use these guys.

KG smiling after mentioning Jones in his presser warmed my heart. The whole team really believes in Jones. Buckle up, this season is STILL interesting.

I was ready to let Shepard walk 2 seasons ago. I still am. Good thing you don't run the team. I'm not saying he's has crazy physical skills, but he runs the most reliable routes on the team and rarely drops a ball when it counts. Any team would be glad to take him off our hands.

Yeah I don't understand how anyone can dislike shep, very solid player, gives his all... There isn't a team in the NFL that wouldn't want a guy like that on their team.

I think we got a few WR that may be better. Also, Shep had problems getting separation back when I was talking about.

I don’t know about this, Slayton is frequently open. That’s not luck. He is an incomplete waiting to happen .He has one of the worst catch percentages in the league.... 50%..... You can cover him with a safety because there is a good probibility it will be an incomplete. It was 52% last season His picture is next to over rated in the dictionary. Sadly I agree, I want him to be good as I was a fan of his at Auburn. He had the same talent and challenge there. Hands of stone, lightning legs. Sadly he will likely be the odd man out, good for the Giants though as he is no longer our first, second or third best WR.

I dont know what "problems getting separation back when I was talking about" means. He's a very good slot receiver, and every team in the league needs a guy exactly like him. Not a star, just a great reliable third-down receiver. You went from killing Toney a few weeks ago to saying Shep isnt needed now? Again, glad you arent running the team.

I wouldn't go so far as to say they are better. Especially since they used their receivers today differently than they have up until this point.
I mean, how many empty and spread sets did we see today? I would say more in this game that the 3 other games combined.
Was happy that the Garrett seemed to focus on getting toney the ball. Mad that it took two injuries in order for the coaching staff to let the guy see the light of day.

I also think we saw more empty sets and spread sets once we were confident with the pass protection and the team learning how to beat blitzes..ie..that screen in OT on 3rd down was probably the back breaker

Can we see him stay healthy and have more than one good game first? In another thread we have a nincampoop saying we don't need Shep anymore. Reign it in folks. We're still 1-3.

If they continue to play this well, it will be the deepest set of WRs I can remember the Giants ever having.

If they continue to play this well, it will be the deepest set of WRs I can remember the Giants ever having. And then they can potentially have a group that can play any situation possible Twin towers in red zone.. Go virtual run and shoot with Ross and Slayton outside with Toney and Shepard running option routes underneath

So in regards to him, yes, I think he will get passed by more than Ross potentially. Shep’s football IQ and ability to run a route is still really valuable. Regardless, really interesting point. Something to think about over the next few weeks. Depth at WR is a little disorienting for me cdnfan. But I like it.

Shep is 2009 Steve Smith ever since they let him exclusively run option routes from all over the field... Toney did a great job doing this today, but with the threat of a house call on every play he got the ball in his hands.. Shep and Toney could be like having 2009 Smith and Cruz on the field at the same time... You now have Golladay outside as an X with defenses not knowing how to cover all 3 Ross and Slayton both have the deep threat ability... This can be a lethal unit We haven't had a stud like Golladay in a long time. On 50/50 balls, he plays like a fierce wide body. Jones will look even more in his direction as the season progresses.

I have always loved Shep, just worried about the concussions. I guess mostly I am thrilled with depth at WR I have never seen with the NYG. Ever.

Was especially great to be used in the way he was brought in to As a chunk number 1 player that ran intermediate and deep routes .. Teams now have a lot of things to look at when they try to come up with a game plan Does Dallas respect Golladay enough to try to game plan him to make him the number priority? Did Toney do enough today? Is Shep going to be back ? For the first time since Odell we now have players that opposing defenses have to think about.. If this happens again next week we now are starting to project an intimidating fear factor on opposing defenses.... Which is the goal

See my post about the o line They have played good enough IMO all year, pass protection was never a reason why the offense faltered for the most part.. But once they push players into a deeper zone regularly and defenders can't get to our gaps quickly wait till you see the running game explode
