...the receiver corps we saw today is superior to the one that we thought were our "starters" coming out of camp.
Of course Golladay was great but I'm talking about Toney, Board, Ross and Johnson all getting real separation and making plays.....with Shep and Slayton out.
Thoughts?

So in regards to him, yes, I think he will get passed by more than Ross potentially. Shep’s football IQ and ability to run a route is still really valuable. Regardless, really interesting point. Something to think about over the next few weeks.

Put Shep in there to give you those reliable move the chains yardage that we were still missing today. This is as good a group as there is in the NFL.

Let’s not put the cart before the horse. Shepard, is still one of the better route runners in this league. Also, he’s still Jones favorite target on 3rd downs. Golladay, showed up. Have to when the price tag is that high. Toney, made plays, and more importantly. Jones made the right throws. No, more is he forcing passes to receivers. Or, taking that bad sack. Moving forward, we need all these guys to do this every week. Today’s performance, should be a start. Not the finish.

Looked different played different
All for the better, when the contribution can be spread around giving the Giants a new wrinkle it was effective today and a good problem for the coaching staff to have
I enjoyed seeing what Toney and Ross could do and Goladay show why he is worth the money
The offense opened up some hopefully it continues to build

Shep is 2009 Steve Smith ever since they let him exclusively run option routes from all over the field...
Toney did a great job doing this today, but with the threat of a house call on every play he got the ball in his hands.. Shep and Toney could be like having 2009 Smith and Cruz on the field at the same time...
You now have Golladay outside as an X with defenses not knowing how to cover all 3 Ross and Slayton both have the deep threat ability...
This can be a lethal unit

The thing with Ross was not only the TD. The 16 yard grab late in the game. That DB was scared shitless of getting beat deep. He did that comeback and was wide open. The receiving corps played well( minus EE of course who I won’t forgive for dropping an important pass).

Shephard is a starter when he's healthy. I think today just proves that Toney needs to be a key part of the gameplans moving forward, and Ross is a nice weapon to have in the arsenal.
Slayton is solidifying himself as just another body in the wr room.
Is it just me or do the Giants always seem to play well after sustaining key injuries?

H made up for it with some tuff catches also, Toney had a couple drops one looked like he might of been still running back home Mississippi.

I still say the late punt was chicken shit and the failure to take any timeouts leading up to half as well. And Engram, well he drops important passes every game. Toney had that drop, but I also had numerous big plays.

Shepard has been playing lights out. Slayton is as about as over rated as a player can be
Slayton should be trade bait. If we get a 4th for him . We made out.

And no it's not just you it seems that way for us I've seen it before and sometimes guys just get hungry or be hungry as in maybe slightly being overlooked. We need them to keep that same fire and desire though........

I don’t know about this, Slayton is frequently open. That’s not luck. He is an incomplete waiting to happen .He has one of the worst catch percentages in the league.... 50%..... You can cover him with a safety because there is a good probibility it will be an incomplete. It was 52% last season His picture is next to over rated in the dictionary.

It's a very strong possibility. This is a good problem to have.

To me, Shep is still our most reliable receiver and best route runner. This is a better offense with him on the field.
Slayton, on the other hand, has been inconsistent at best. I definitely think Ross and KT need more snaps, and Slayton less. Let's see how they can contribute moving forward.

Toney looked like a 1st round pick today is all I know. His quickness is different. As soon as the ball is secured in his hands it seems like the defense slows down. Great sign. Better that what I expected honestly.

Would prefer linebacker help for Slayton if we are talking about this season's trade deadline. No Martinez today killed them against the run game today.

Toney is by far the best receiver on this team since OBJ and its not close. He has NFL playmaker written all over him. His aggresion with the ball in hand is fabulous. Unlike other receivers who seem like prima donas and blink at the sight of a tackle. This guy is a video game. He had a couple of drops but the dude was absolutely gassed. He gets a pass in my book. +1000 Mr Toney.

Good post...yeah, I see this offense getting better and yes... better...as long as the OL does their part, the more vertical plays can be incorporated. Toney is so buzzed and electric...if Barkley continues to gain more confidence, and he is... just having those 2 in the lineup is infinite space fears for DC's...I was in awe as to how we got everybody into this game, and hell...the OL was in synch running an off direction screen...happy day. We beat Dallas, we're back into playoff talk.
