I’m not a huge Slayton fan. So in regards to him, yes, I think he will get passed by more than Ross potentially. Shep’s football IQ and ability to run a route is still really valuable. Regardless, really interesting point. Something to think about over the next few weeks. Depth at WR is a little disorienting for me cdnfan. But I like it. Same buddy. Can’t remember a time when we had a WR who was decent but may not start because decent is too low a standard. WTF.

Yeah I don't understand how anyone can dislike shep, very solid player, gives his all... There isn't a team in the NFL that wouldn't want a guy like that on their team. I’ll take dynamics over a sluggish possession guy any day. I doubted Toney just like almost everyone else here, but I think he’s proven us wrong. Possession receivers are a dime a dozen. I don't see shep that way.. just my opinoin but he's more than a "sluggish" possession guy. He's not sluggish and what season are you referencing towards him not gaining seperation. I could be wrong, but he's always been pretty high on avg separation unless that changed last year or something... but if ross and toney play consistenly as they did yesterday, I don't mind seeing less shep. Make no mistake shep has a role and he does it well. He's a reliable WR that moves the sticks.

I remember reading that all the Giants receivers have been bad at separation since Jones has been under center. It's been documented as one of the worst group in the league.. So far Shep this year has been better at this and I think the added time the oline is providing is also helping all of them except Slayton..

Slayton is very good when he can get open, but he simply does not get open enough to make a real difference. There is one route he can run. I have defended Slayton more than most people but very early on this year I said how he is going to lose his job this season because he can't make contested catches and can't get open enough.
Shep was amazing to start this year and there is no negative about him. Golladay is getting into his groove, he warned us it would take a little time. Ross has always been good but injuries are and always will be his limiting factor. He uses his speed extremely well though (unlike Slayton) and used that deep pass to set up every route he ran the rest of the day.
Toney looked incredible. His endurance is still a bit lagging though. He will be a huge weapon for us.
To answer your question. I think we missed Shep and didn't miss Slayton. If/when Shep comes back it'll be great to have, but how we use all these weapons is beyond me.

I dont know what "problems getting separation back when I was talking about" means. He's a very good slot receiver, and every team in the league needs a guy exactly like him. Not a star, just a great reliable third-down receiver. You went from killing Toney a few weeks ago to saying Shep isnt needed now? Again, glad you arent running the team. It took me a while to figure out your avatar. At first I was like, "why does he have a picture of disgruntled Andy Dick spouting off into a mic as his profile pic?" Then I google searched it and it's actually Warren Zevon. Much better. Yeah, somebody else thought the same awhile ago, although I don't really see it. I'm a big fan, seen him live several times. RIP.

As much as I love the receiving group, I think it's very good for their 4th or 5th receiver to be slayton. He is good depth, I wouldn't trade him..injuries can still happen (but I hope they won't).

I like what I see in Toney and hope he continues to develop, but I'm not sure how long NFL defenses will allow him to dance around the way he does and still get away with it..

I don't like Garretts offense, never have, but in all fairness to him any offensive game plan he runs must be approved by the head coach..

If we can get a pair of socks for him, do it.

I was ready to let Shepard walk 2 seasons ago. I still am. 10mil for a sort yardage poss receiver who has a history of injuries. Its just too much and i like shep.
