Tampa got screwed on that game winner. Should have been 6 men on the ice, refs badly missed that one. Meh Not going to complain...... The Epitaph for this team in this run for not having more cups than their talent says they should have is a re occurring fatal flaws that they play way too much of the game in their own zone and always outshot badly The past 2 years Vasi saved their asses...it's come to bite them in tbe ass in this series....(foe the most part they did this against Florida, who I say still is a better overall team than Colorado and somehow swept them) I'd say 60% of goals against or PP goals caused by penalties in their own zone were caused by this .... It is what it is I'll probably not even pay attention on Friday........it's done ... Regroup, rest up,go on another run next year..

Ferraro adds nothing with no fever pitch when goals are scored. Hits, goals and the end of periods are all delivered the same. A Pat Summerall or Keith Jackson could get away with it b/c their voices were awesome. Where is the next Dan Kelly? Jim Gordon? “I don’t know why there was any question . . . . “? Ahhh, Avs just won . . . can we get a call????

I guess he heard that Mexican soccer announcer with his A GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAL call, and thought that he should emulate it, just doesn't work. And GL, trust me, I ain't shedding a tear for them, but it still was a bad call, even if the 6th man was totally out of the play and had no impact on it.

As a hockey fan I thought it was a great game with the series basically at stake. The AVs goalie I thought played great. Tampa has one hell of a defense nobody it seems can score on them 5 on 5.
I couldn't believe all the confusion on the winning goal.

Don't get me started on ESPN... why is Kenny Albert not doing the finals...he actually has experience calling hockey GOOAAAAL? while I like the sky cam angle...ESPN dropped the ball as predicted..they are a basketball first and 2nd network and putting the games on steaming sucked. The previous networks we could see games on TV 3 nights a week.... The issue going forward is that the void left by Doc retiring is still there. Unless they steal Rosen from TBD Rangers or Howie from the Islanders there really isn't many TV announcers (at least that I know of,our Tampa TV guys are sleep inducing to the point we sync the games to the radio guys )that I know of And unfortunately last night illustrates I guess how inept playoff long the refs have been. Law of averages unfortunately meant that Tampa was due....but again,I don't complain about refs. And this goes back to that day I will not name ..... whatever happened on that past play you don't give up a 38-14 lead with 3 minutes left in tbe 3rd.

Up until this series they have been able to survive (playing a neutral z0ne clogging system also helps ).. These lead either directly to goals or power plays against that lead to goals It is what it is

Was the puck deflected above the Shoulder? Was that actually interference on Kakko? I’ve seen plenty of horseshit go against the Rangers. One player possibly within. The prescribed 5 feet of the bench as allowed hardly seems egregious.

I've seen you say Tampa plays a 1-3-1 zone and then I noticed it. Tampa apparently has had trouble clearing the puck out even in the last 2 years when they won the cup. Maybe it's a weak spot in Coopers philosophy ? Stemkos played a heck of a game defensively, I bet he blocked 4 shots by himself. Tampa had a couple guys banged up. Looked like somebody got slashed in the arm and needed stitches, he tried to come back for the 3rd period. I lost track if he played or not. Somebody else went straight to locker room don't know if he returned. But your right the AVs spent the entire OT in the Tampa end it seemed. Still it was a hell of a game, now a 3 games to 1 strangle hold looks ominous. Colorado has played a great series. They can skate and shoot.

It's execution in their own end,or lack of fundamentals...the system is sound, when they play sound they can't be beat..best... I mean every team will turn it over in their own end,but so many unforced errors.. Law of averages came up craps this round.. Its why they only have 2 cups so far with this group...

This run if you count starting in 2015 is one of the great runs in the NHL.6 conference finals,4 finals appearances and 2 cups. Probably not done yet either Not to mention a legit hockey town.. I'm at peace with the inevitable Interesting superstitious fact I left the Vasilevskey jersey I have had since 2019 at the resort I was at the Sunday before the finals started....didn't think anything of it Ooops

Was not expecting that ... I keep forgetting Champs don't go out meekly and that was a vintage Lightning playoff type win when they play their game Limited turnovers in their own end..
Have to also say Kuemper didn't exactly help,2 of the 3 goals were bad goals including the game winner.
I mean i guess Colorado can still win it like this but you have to have your goalie make saves like that to enable your team to win .. he let them down
Interesting Lightning stat The past 2 years I don't think they have given up any more than 2 goals in all their wins
So last 2 games were actually really good if you had no rooting interest
Now gets Interesting back on home ice in that madhouse in Tampa

Was thinking about going Sunday till I saw tix in the 3K range. 😮

Champions never throw in the towel they fight back even harder. Tampa favored to win in Tampa and here comes game 7. Another very entertaining hockey game. This series has had blowouts. a 1 goal game in regulation and 2 OT games. It's been great nobody knows what the hell your going to get.

Found something watching these highlights (love hearing our radio guys synced over the game highlights,Espo is so entertaining)
Think I figured out up until the Kucherov goal why Tampa's power play has been nonexistent Their guy on the side of the face off circle has been deadly up until this series with one timers...either Kucherov or usually Stamkos being tbe guy there I noticed a lot of Colorado playsr blocking shots (almost as much as Lightning players )last night...especially when Stamkos was loading up... It started to cause the Lightning to get extra fancy passing it around (they have always done this ) What Stamkos did when they saw that tendency to get it quickly to a then open Kucherov could be the key going forward
In the meantime just fire it on net,Kuemper gives up horrifically soft goals ..
On paper the Lightning "should" bring it back to Denver next week.. But never underestimate this team to get careless in their own zone that leads to a Cup losing kill shot.
Oh and again these ESPN announcers Ammeteur hour

****ing so sloppy again after a good start
Lazy icings..careless in their own zone, winning face offs and putting it directly on Avalanche players sticks
Somehow they survived with a 1-0 lead thanks to another kinda week goal let in by Kuemper and Vasi on the other end

Tampa playing beyond careless. .. Colorado smelling blood
No way they will win this way
Wide open looks and not shooting at a shaky goalie.Defense now standing around being spectators

Entire period has been in Tampa's end ...
Inept in their own zone, Passing on open shots , Vasi has kept it close

John Cooper is such a classy guy. Respect. [br And to think I wanted him fired after 2019...... This is a class organization from top to bottom.... Unlike teams that fire really good coaches for no reason ... They aren't done being heard from.... Their core is still in their prime,I didn’t know Sergachev is only 24,him,Colton,Cirelli are young, Get Paul and Palat back and they will be back.... Only thing I'd be concerned about is those 71 playoff games in 3 years,hell....less than 3 years if you count tbe 2020 run that was in August/Sept of 2020,then 9 months later the 2nd run that ended 2nd week in July ... I'd also if I were Cooper give Elliot more playing time and rest Vasilevskey....no reason to overplay him... Colorado has a lot of key guys over 30,didn’t know that, then again hockey players seem to play into their mid 30s quite a bit

Best team won. I think the road to the Finals played a part b/c Avs didn't face much resistance. They were pretty well rested. Tampa was great and amazing to go that late in the playoff after playing almost a full half season more than the rest of the league over three seasons.
