So your belief is the HC decided on these offensive linemen. All of which are either backups or practice squad players. Last i checked, the cap in such poor shape the Giants could ‘t even field a 53 man team in week 17. I don’t believe for a moment he or any coach would sign off on this OL. What was on the OL was all the GM could afford as his sadly continued to restructure contract i late December for an eliminated team. Judge and Gettleman went through FA and the draft without addressing the OL. And was happy with the OL they had. May 2021: “First of all, you don’t want it to be good enough, you want it to be good, plain and simple,” Gettleman told reporters after the draft. “It’s really apparent that we have a little more confidence in our offensive linemen than you guys do. So I’m just going to say we’re happy with the group that we have. Obviously you’re always trying to get better and you’re not going to take a player just to take a player, you take a player because you think he’s going to improve the value of your team. Right now, our offensive line is what it is, the players are who they are and we’re going to move forward.” Head coach Joe Judge reiterated the Giants were pleased with the group they have.
“First off I’m encouraged by the guys we have on our roster right now,” he said. “They are working hard. We don’t have them in the building just yet, not all of them. As we get closer to the mandatory minicamp and training camp, we’ll get a feel for them on the grass. I would say we are always looking to make every position more competitive, but right now we are committed to working with the guys on our roster and improving each one of those guys individually and that should help the unit collectively.”Game over.

I think that the coaching staff and front office determined they did not need any starter-level talent acquisition this offseason along the offensive line, which proved to be a huge mistake, even before our injuries and retirements. Peart couldn't beat out Solder, Hernandez was bad all year, and Shane L. was being depended on after a mediocre rookie year. I don't fault Judge or DG for two backup olinemen retiring, that's just crappy luck. But the assessment that we didn't need any starter-level talent or additional backups through draft resources was completely incorrect. That doesn't happen if the coaching staff was insistent on getting offensive lineman. The one we drafted the year before was mainly because Jason Garrett pushed for him. The cap was in poor shape because the team went all-in on this year. If you remember Joe Judge was a huge, huge part of getting Golladay here among our other free-agent acquisitions, both good and bad. I don't know what else to tell you, "you don't believe that any coach would sign off on the OL" is not the same as years of history where the head coach of this team has significant influence in shaping the roster. It's just you thinking it's not possible for...reasons. You're just not correct, and I don't know why you insist on it. Coach is gone, GM is gone, it's all a fresh start. The reality of our situation is that for many years now our coaching staffs and front office have been bad at the same time. That's how you get this bad. my belief is Dave Gettleman ran his own show. Sure, he speaks to the HC and scouts yet it’s all Gettleman. Truth or not, we’ve read leaks about his communication style, how the phone range during draft day and he didn’t bother answering, how we “didn’t sign OBJ to trade him”, and so many claims which turned out to be lies or delusion resulting a .290 winning percentage. And look how Gettleman left. Not a word. Meanwhile, Jerry Reese and every other coach left with class. And one last word on Judge, he thanked or mentioned everybody except one; Gettleman who hired him. The same guy who left in silence. Gettleman left like he was going into witness protection.

Ok...lets get back on track. I.think Daboll is the over all frontrunner and, good or bad, will end up with the job anyway. Just do it now so we can get to work.

How about we go through the process and make sure we select the next hc for the job. I don't want schoen just bringing his buddies in for no reason. He's not bringing him in for no reason. I think he would bring him in to make this offense work. The others being interviewed Quinn, Flores, or Graham are all defensive guys. "buddies for no reason" what is this a beer league ? Watching these offenses this weekend in the divisional series weekend possibly the greatest playoff weekend in NFL history. The QB's putting on shows we haven't seen before. The top 5 QB's imo anyway, Brady, Rogers, Mahomes, Allen, and Burrow. Plus Stafford having a career year, and Jimmy G somehow wins. Tannerhill is the weakest of the 8. We need a QB like these guys that can win and come to play on the big stage. I'm really more and more leaning and rooting for Dabol.

You must actually believe after every draft what these guys share. “We got everybody we wanted”. You cannot be that naive lol

Anyway. It's going to be Daboll. The sooner we get it done, the sooner we can do other things. I think it is the most likely outcome. I don’t think it is a lock. Depends on he feels about the state of the team. I mean Judge got the recommendation from Bill but it definitely felt like we settled for Shumer

But I DO believe he was too inexperienced to take on this massive dumpster fire. He had no chance with this front office. I also know Judge was handpicked by the same idiot owner. What is happening now should have happened years ago.

We need a major sense of urgency on this one. Building a coaching staff will get tougher as hours and days go by. We also need a fresh start on evaluating players in the draft and FA. To do that we need a deep dive on what we have and where the holes are that need to be filled. I know that some work has been done but we don't have any time to waste in starting that process. Let's go!!

What I meant was that the years we got Shummer and Judge we had other guys that were favorites (the only one I can think of off the top of my head now is rule) but we say them slowly down off the board. Now a lot of it came from keeping Eli and since we pretty have a clear slate the only worry is what the of the rest of the league think of the organization as a whole.

I'll slow it down even more for you. I was talking to you. Not anyone else. The public isn't waiting with bated breath. They don't care about you or this. It's okay if you don't want to admit you come off as a massive prick sometimes. I don't understand why, but whatever. I understand that I look that way to YOU sometimes because you and I butt heads a lot. But most of our argumemts are based on the behavior of the other, not about a difference of football opinions. Our friend in this thread is massive prick about football opinions. Big difference So I am putting it to you. I reject your claims that I am a prick to people over football opinions. Prove me wromg I finally did go back and read that thread. Now I see why you didn't want anyone else reading it. Wow.

I finally did go back and read that thread. Now I see why you didn't want anyone else reading it. Wow. Yeah, because I was just ahead of the same discussions being asked now. Go figure you and others blew out a labia at the time. What's also funny is some of the key posters in that thread freaking out about an "agenda against Jones" are now posters who do not want him 5th'd or extended. But in all honesty. I glad you figured out how to click twice and realize it's not as difficult as rebuilding an engine. It had nothing to do with figuring out how to access it. It was about you making a claim about me publicly but refusing to provide easy access to anyone else. People already don't care enough about our argument to not make it easy to find.

I only know WLB as a weak side linebacker. What does it mean in terms of juvenile forum slang? Just a short form for whiney little bitch. Not slang. It's what he is about "the mob". Just easier to do than spelling the whole thing out. He knows what I means. That's all that matters.

Before we hired Schoen I wrote: Between these two I'd go with Schoen because it likely means Daboll is coming too. And Daboll has developed a young QB very nicely. Which is what we either need with Jones or his successor. You'd know this if you clicked twice and searched my posting history. Relax... lighten up, Francis. I'm just joking/being a dick. I'm all good. Dust ups are fun. Good call on Scheon and Daboll
