This is a common complaint behind many a failed coach. The Greg Schiano "drill sergeant" style of coaching never works in the NFL. You can't treat adults like college kids and try to earn respect as a head coach by working your players like dogs. Unless you win They never do, though. Belichick's earned the right to run practice any way he wants, but even he says it’s not for everyone.

Sorry but JJ didn't make anyone play injured . He has no power in that aspect that falls on Ronnie Barnes and he will not allow it, this is a bogus report.

Awww...the players practiced hard...cry me a river. I bet he wasn't as close to as hard as Parcells or Coughlin. Coughlin got fired from the Jags because of an excessive amount of NFLPA fines and grivenances against the team...I don't remember Judge having that problem. I would take that profile pic down, JJ is history and after next season your boy DJ should be gone as well. JJ since day one came in acting as a hard nose coach. Overworking his players and making them and coaches run laps after mistakes. Problem with that is, he never had the cache to do so. He was a special teams coach who was good at talking up. Hes not Belichick or ever will be. Good Riddance. Some guys on here kept saying throughout the year, "atleast the players haven't turnt on him". Just how many Olineman quit in training camp??? The players were in it for a paycheck, of course they would not speak against the coach or GM while still employed. But i always felt the players body language was off. Not surprised now with JJ gone, leaks are coming out how much players disliked him.

When DJ had that concussion game, he came back the next week and obviously wasnt fully there. When Glennon had that concussion, they left him out there and he looked like he didnt know what planet he was on. I dont know what the process is there, but it falls under Judge and it looked real bad. Yeah and Slow Judge kept him in the game when we were getting pasted and the game was well in hand for the Rams……. 🤦♂️

He was hired to be Head Coach of the New York Football Giants..not to be a counselor. The players hated him so much they showed up for pizza and Coors Light at his house after he was fired. I noticed a few podcasters were saying Judge was a failure partially due to the retirements like Kelvin Benjamin... ..the same podcasters that fell in love with Judge last year...lol...can't take these guys seriously.

An NFL head coach worked his players too hard? Now I’ve heard of everything, Judge should have implemented nap time during the week for his players to overcome those grueling walkthroughs. Go figure, never heard a peep about those two a days back in the day. Now, those players had a gripe. I could go for a nice nap time in the middle of the day.

this is a problem..football is such a physical sport they need time to heal and recover in between games.

Judge's biggest flaw was he was totally not ready to be a HC in the NFL. He was overwhelmed, outmatched and had little idea what to do in many sideline situations. Spot on GT.

He clearly brought DJ back to soon in 2020 with the leg injuries when he couldn't move. No way DJ should have been out there.

A lot of us owe Shannon Sharpe an Apology Well...It Did Not End Well! My Apologies Shannon, I know I was one who quickly jumped out and was saying "STFU Shannon!" but he was right and I get it now, this ERA don't respond well to your 90's "Old School" Disciplinarian way of doing things. You have to be a Coach who is "Player Relatable" like a Sean McVay, you do that and your players will give you their all on Sundays

Be your own Coach, not based off of someone else's success, learn from the experience unfortunate it did not work out for Judge time to move on to the next chaper for the Giants. It appears now he was not ready to be a HC

Working players hard and making players play hurt are two different things. JJ did not make players play hurt.

I'm not one of those that hate Judge as if he ruined my life, but there was definitely a trend of "allowing" guys to start when it was clear they shouldn't be playing much or at all. Jones could hardly move when he was injured in 2020. Even this season, many of us thought he came back to soon after that concussion and same goes for Glennon. There were some other instances too 🤔 maybe one or two others that I can't recall? Personally I think Judge just let the player do whatever he wanted regarding playing hurt.

Idk, I see a whole lot of players (across the league) who seem like they just have TOO MUCH MONEY to be playing so "hard". It looks like they'd rather hire a body double lol.
Idk if we aren't being told enough of what happened throughout camp and practices but if anything it seemed that Judge allowed too many vets to take camp and preseason off...
Seems the toughest thing he did was make them run laps after a penalty lol
Someone else said it...I bet Judge's camps were nowhere near as tough as Coughlin or Parcells. And Coughlin really wasn't that long ago. He had to change BUT from what I recall he still ran a tough camp

Working players hard and making players play hurt are two different things. JJ did not make players play hurt. I can only speak to what I saw. Jones could not use his legs effectively to throw or get himself out of trouble. I believe he sat out the next game. It was one of those things the led me to question Judge. Lawrence Tynes made a comment about Judge over working his team. No ex-player would just put that out there. The Giants had injury issues for sure as well.

The team has been horrible so let’s go easier on them? They’re not even hitting. Every year it’s a different excuse. If we only got to know the player as a person we he would block better as a football player? We should talk more. Let’s chat. Warm blankets? We’re always dancing with emotions and rumors. Cut to the chase, the players stink.

My personal opinion is the Field at Met Life needs to be replaced just too many injuries happen on that field that were "non-contact" injuries. I would like to amend my statement that working a player hard and playing injured and hurt are all different things. I think very few players are player without hurting but again I will say IMO JJ does not have the authority to make a player play injured. I can't see Ronnie Barnes letting that happen. RB can't stop a player from getting hurt he only helps them recover from it .He is considered the best in the NFL.

Interesting take because I felt the starters did not play/practice enough in the preseason. I felt like game 1 was approached like a final preseason game.

With all the change they went through pre season reps were a must. What hasn't been touched on is "belief". The offensive players should respond to Daboll as he has a record of success for his work. Players buy in and early improvement happens then it can gel and be the foundation needed.

These fans and some ex-players lol. It’s such a joke. We play too little, then too much. It’s all nonsense. Now fans are listening to a kicker whose only chance to become relevant in the media is to stir it up.

Our clock management was the worst I have ever seen. I'm not sure who is in charge of that. 2. I did not feel the message approaching game 1 was what it should have been. Our starters barely played together before the game. It almost seemed like we treated game 1 like our final preseason game and the intensity was not there for us. Now with that said a lot of nonsense will come out now that he is gone. I would take it with a grain of salt not as fact.

There will be more stuff coming out about Judge.. Agreed. Like the time he made a player go through a whole practice after he was diagnosed with gas. Don't mess with gas, thats serious stuff... Indigestion on the other hand ..eh.... burst appendices, heart palpitations, kidney failure...you can work through those..

Judge literally said he was approaching the first couple weeks as an extension of preseason...it was probably the biggest mistake he made. They should've easily started at least 3-1 even with the injuries to Barkley, Golly Day and Toney. And honestly, if Garrett had a 21st century playbook they probably should've beat Denver too. Of course Graham went all Perry Fewell to start the season too 🙄 The coaches were a shit show this year. Graham at least straightened his scheme out
