I don’t think laps and hard practices led to more Giant injuries. I think that was just bad luck. I think hard practices are great. I mean, how else could they prepare for all of those consecutive QB sneaks? The Giants were a perfect storm of a bad roster coached by a bad head coach that suffered a bunch of ill timed injuries. The mistake a few people make on this board is thinking that the GM was the only one responsible for the roster. Judge had plenty to do with the mess and as a result he is gonzo Alonzo. And BJ Hill and Golden are great examples of that. Exactly. Do you think it was Gettleman’s decision to have Nate Ebner on his roster? Or to carry 2 fullbacks? Or to draft a RB for special teams over Trey Smith in the 6th round? Most understand that while Judge had a bad roster (which he had a hand in) and a bad GM, he also contributed to this mess by being a bad coach. I always thought he put far too much emphasis on ST. I think good players have no trouble playing special teams. I saw a video last night where LT was on the field goal team in 93...your ST players need to be contributors at both their true position AND special teams... The Giants literally don't even have a good return specialist and haven't since Harris in 2015. In 08 and 09 the Giants had Bradshaw and Hixon returning kicks. Two late round burners. That's what they need. Not slow, safe, "fundamentally sound" practice squad guys who wouldn't make the team otherwise And they both were contributors at their position. Ron Dixon is another that comes to mind... Even Willie Ponder was ab explosive return man

The Rangers are possibly overachieving yet their coach is asked about the performance and replies “I think it was awful,” he replied to a question about the game. “I’m not too happy.”. Do the above in the NFL and the house would burn down. It's crazy how politicized the NFL has become over the last 10-15 years. Everything has to be full of shit and PC. PC can be so corporate and full of false virtue. It's lifeless and fake It wasn't long that we saw those types of honest quotes from NFL coaches. I don't see that quote as harsh at all. The world changed.

I do think he will get more assistant gigs as he is a true football guy. I must say I thought we would at least have a huge improvement in special teams but we did not.

It's lifeless and fake It wasn't long that we saw those types of honest quotes from NFL coaches. I don't see that quote as harsh at all. The world changed. True. But change like that typically doesn't happen organically. Essentially, The media tells people to be outraged and they follow suit. Information controls perception. So the information people consume becomes "their" thoughts and beliefs (for better or worse). In that sports world those words are fine. In the world of the "NFL" those words are "out of touch" and "harsh". I could write a book about how full of shit the NFL is, but anyway... In my world those are the words of a man who sees that his team has weaknesses that can be exposed by the trained eye. Thus, they still got work to do. He wants his team focused, not listening to the media narratives of greatness. Even Eli said something similar after the 2011 Super Bowl (in his respectable way) that they were only 9-7 and had a lot of work to do....sadly they are STILL doing THAT work lmao

Yes, they sway the emotions. Outrage!! The audience doesn’t even know what they’re outraged about but let’s jump on board, let’s share a tweet which makes no sense and exercise cancel culture if somebody doesn’t agree with me . . . although they aren’t sure what position they’re defending or represent in the first place.

Well said. I think this issue is massively misunderstood. When people complain about Judge working players too hard, it's not because NFL players are soft and can't hang (look at these guys bodies, what they endure, and what they can endure, do you REALLY think they are afraid of hard work?), it's more about them not being treated as grown men. Dial 1800 waaaaaambulance. So you equate making football players run extra laps to not 'respecting" them as "grown" men? You mean the same "grown" men who committ "childish "taunting" penalties on a weekly basis or the same "grown" men who all run to the endzone after a 1st qt int & act like idiots for the camera? Or the same "grown" men who continually break the law on an almost weekly basis when not on the football field? Which "grown" men are you talking about? For the amount of $$ these "Grown" men get payed to play a child's game, they shouldn't be bitching or griping about anything that they are being paid to do & guess what, they are being 'paid" to run extra laps when they screw up in practice. What you screw up in practice, you'll screw up in games that count! The number of players who engage in criminal activity is a very small percentage. To take those acts and generalize them to the majority of players is alarming. Same applies for the taunting penalties piece. You're grasping at straws here. These players worked their butts off and risked serious injury for free throughout high school and college, so that you and I could enjoy sitting our asses and watch a child's game. To take a small percentage of immature behaviors and apply it to this larger group of dedicated and disciplined people is absurd.
