Going on the road and steeling a game like this with a new staff new faces everywhere before they are even well versed in either the offensive and defensive scheme is big for the franchise, now they have to build on it they need to be the underdog in their heads every week play with that chip week in and week out. when is the last time a Giants team made that many mistakes and still won? Its only one game but they showed fight. Was good to see!!!

And the talent and coaching to over come hose mistakes once having healthy Barkely to take the pressure off DJ it's nice to have a quality win against a quality opponent to get started.

Looks like Giants may well start season 3-1 with only loss to Cowboys, or beat Cowboys and be 4-0 to start the season. Then face Packers who lost total, and scored but 7 points today.

I wasn't able to watch every play of the game, just constantly glancing up at it as it played in the background. What I gleaned from the game mostly: We have a lot of work to do to improve. Yet we seemingly have a lot to build upon. That is a perfect assessment.

It was certainly entertaining to read all the posts after the fact! Wow, many quick to give up. Some others were very reasoned and stayed positive while this young team with SO much new going on showed character. It wasn't pretty but wow, what a different era we have started! The scolding Daboll gave Jones? That IS tough love! He did this several times to Josh Allen, and Allen even mentions it with admiration. WAY too early to give up on Jones. Big money QBs including Dak and Burrows made stupid throws today and they are in systems they have been in. As some of you mentioned, that decision to go for 2 and involving(empowering) the D in the decision will go a long way with the players. Stepping stones baby, we just won a game we had no business winning "on paper". They are going to build a squad with as many guys who have a heart of a lion as they can. Winning begets winning.

No games for the Giants are GIMME'S, if they want to be 2and0 or 3and 0 or 4 and 0 they need to be better than they were the week before every week. They aren't that talented, hopefully OL play will improve weekly and that will make every aspect that much better. Not every team can offer the changes that Titans front does but they have a ton to work on.

I said before this is a great start steeling a game from a quality opponent on the road in week one is huge for a team that has struggled every way possible the last 10 years. I'm looking for weekly improvement and optimistic we will get it.

I'm so proud of these guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was thinking all 4th go for 2 but never expected Dabol to do it. I'm glad the hater in this thread lost money on the game. I would never have gone for two on that play. Gotta hand to Dabes for trusting his guys and for them for executing. I was livid at bdubs…if he went for 1 there it was the last 2 coaching regimes on repeat…only play that made sense

Playing to win instead of playing for overtime and all that brigs.

Glad Giants got going and won the second half. Giants offensive schemes far better than Titans. Fair argument who has better players.
Some observations:
1.Robinson has terrific quickness in covering his man when he goes toward the middle of the field.
2. MacFadden didn't play today, or if he did, he didn't make any plays today.
3. Like to see Pinnock and McCloud , and Flott play on defense.
4.DabollHas to play Peterson and Hamilton at left guard.
5. Like to Webb on game day roster. Proved in pre-season games he's better than Taylor.
6.Daboll needs to call plays.
7.Hope Belton, Thibs and Ohulari are able to play against Carolina.
8.Holmes has to stop committing stupid holding calls.
9. Giants have to upgrade middle linebacker corp. like to see what Wiley from practice squad can do.

This day just got a whole lot better, the Cowboys just lost! That means tomorrow we get to witness Shannon Sharpe troll Skip Bayless and Stephen A Smith rag on Michael Irvin.

I missed this but I want to see it. And dabol lied about it in his presser after the game. Said he wasn't talking to DJ, but was talking to other coaches on his headset. Only you can clearly see he took the headset off before he started talking, and DJ was clearly responding to him. I get he won't admit to it to the press and make it a big story, but could come up with a better lie.

It was pointed out on this message board that the Giants demonstrated in three pre-season games they had terrific run and pass schemes that worked well, and such would be even better when the Giants starters in regular season games were running the same schemes against opponent starters.
Such proved so be true in the Titans game, but skeptics here still can't bring themselves to acknowledge that, and give both Daboll and the Giants players the kudos they deserve.
Instead, the skeptics here chose to pick on Jones interception which as not his GM fault as Barkley did not look for the ball when Jones was going to throw to him before reached the goal line, rather than looking at Jones completing 17-21 of passes thrown.
Jones only needs minor improvements in getting rid of the ball earlier to receivers or throwing the ball out of bounds in order to avoid sacks going forward.

The Giants could score far more points in games, if Daboll would only put in more sets with two running backs in order to relieve the offensive lineman of not letting any defensive player to get by them. By not having two backs, Daboll is exposing Jones to being sacked a lot.
Having two running backs would also diversity both the running and passing attack.
It may well be that Daboll has never developed 2-back schemes. If Daboll is unable to draw up two back schemes, the Giants won't have nearly a potent offense as it could be.

vinnie c'mon my dude how in the hell can you be dissapointed? This was awesome! Are you kidding? This game was almost unbearable to watch. I’m happy they won but some of you are kidding yourselves if you think that tram resembled anything other than a mediocre to bad team. They literally scored the majority of their points on 3-4 chunk yardage plays. I think some of you are so used to losing that any W is a good W. I’m more of a perfectionist/realist and this team is still trash. DJ looked like shit, he won’t be on the team next year. Barkley was Barkley, padded his stats with a long run or two but otherwise he looked average. The O Line was ass. Tannehill is a bad QB and it showed. I’m not saying they can’t improve and I’m always happy when they win but I’m not delusional. They looked like S H I T. Please tell me what you thought they did well on a consistent basis?

BTW, I do love Dabs right now, we just don’t have the horses to be a legitimate playoff team.
