4-0 Astros. I will put the odds of us coming back at about 5%.

He is just an all or nothing hitter, just like Rob Deer. His approach is absolutely horrible. I don't know what happened to him. When he first came out, he hit for power and average. I will go ahead and say it. He sucks Can't say for sure romine stops that passed ball scored a run, but given Sanchez total lack of offense and romine's quality defense and good contact hitter, hindsight being 20/20 he should have started. I wouldn't object to that. That passed ball was going to get by any catcher. Sanchez has improved defensively by a lot. Unfortunately, his hitting has fallen off of a cliff.

Needed another hitter deeper in the line up. Imo Stanton would have been that guy.

4-0 Astros. I will put the odds of us coming back at about 5%. Those were the odds of us winning this game in the first place. At least for me. Maybe 7%. This team is the same thing every year. Average at best starting pitching and HR or nothing bats. Adding DJL and Urshela gave us a different look, but in the end, it's the same thing. Its obvious now they need to win the next 2 at home, but now they need to steal one in Houston. With this rain coming, it resets the Astros rotation to Greinke - Verlander - Cole the next 3 games. Yanks will fall flat again... Maybe this offseason they will take their heads out of their asses and get Cole. He is there only hope in 2020 to win it all. Strasburg might opt out too, but I dont trust that injury list of his.

All of those home runs may help you win games in the regular season, but are always neutralized by good pitching in the post season. Houston is throwing 3 aces at us.

Lol, of course they lose that challenge. Glove never touched his helmet don't know what they're talking about. And overall Yankees had the talent to win it all, if they don't the narrative should be the freaky amount of injuries, which is not cured by over-paying for someone in off-season. Imo when a guy reaches Cole's level you're best case is break-even.

I can't hear the sound since I'm watching at work, but I bet Buck and Smoltz were happy as hell about that.

Then the weak knee'd buck chimed into agree adding the part about the "helmet." Which I didn't see. His elbow hit the helmet not the glove ...that was clear. Then it's a question of where was the foot when the glove hit the back; to me not enough to over turn.

IMO, this series is done. I want to be wrong, but this all or nothing hitting in regards to 7 out of the 9 hitters is not going to cut it against this kind of pitching.

It was a long shot to beat the Astros in a series with their aces. They actually cared 3 years in a row more than the Yankees did. Verlander, Cole and now Greinke.

The Nationals totally dominated the Cardinals and are heading to the World Series. Three dominant starting pitchers. Analytics tells you that hitting home runs is the way to go. That stuff may get you to the playoffs, but pitching always takes home the trophy. If the Yankees somehow make it out of this series (I doubt that they will), they get to see Scherzer, Strasburg, and Corbin two times apiece.

Wednesday's ALCS Game 4 postponed NEW YORK – Game 4 of the American League Championship Series between the Astros and Yankees has been postponed due to continued projections of inclement conditions in the New York City area, Major League Baseball announced on Wednesday. ALCS Game 4, originally scheduled to be played at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday at 8:08 p.m. ET, will be played instead on Thursday at 8:08 p.m. ET. The National Weather Service and The Weather Channel both project a 100-percent chance of rain for Wednesday evening. The postponement moves Game 5 to 7:08 p.m. ET on Friday, with the clubs losing a potential travel day between New York and Houston. The Astros lead the ALCS, two games to one. www.mlb.com/yankees/news/oct-16-alcs-game-4-postponed

Healthy Mike Tauchman adds new wrinkle to Yankees’ Giancarlo Stanton decision Aaron Hicks was back in the starting lineup for ALCS Game 3 — and that may not be the last surprise return for the Yankees this postseason. Mike Tauchman, who incurred a left calf strain on Sept. 9, is in play as a roster option should the Yankees have to place Giancarlo Stanton (quad) on the injured list or for the World Series, should the Yankees advance past the Astros in the ALCS. Tauchman was expected to miss at least six weeks and it has been five weeks since he was placed on the IL. “He is healthy and eligible,” Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said before the Yankees’ 4-1 Game 3 loss. “That is why he has been down in Tampa doing all his stuff.” nypost.com/2019/10/15/healthy-mike-tauchman-adds-new-wrinkle-to-yankees-giancarlo-stanton-decision/

There is a reason why the year Harper left the Nats they were legit. You don't need that baggage. Too bad Cashman didnt learn that prior to trading for Stanton. Imagine what they could do with that $28m a year the next 8 years for a rotational upgrade... Then Cashman compounds the mistake to a lesser degree by extending Hicks 8 years. Another injury prone player.

It was a shame when he went down. Was Stanton injury prone prior to becoming a yank? I don't recall. I do think losing him after game 1 was a big problem. Astros would have to respect his power no matter and alter their pitching. With Gary's vacuus post season they are simply starting him out with strikes out over the plate and after he gets behind throwing him junk to whiff at.

Tauchman is a better option than Stanton as long as he is healthy. It was a shame when he went down. He had a very strong year. I was impressed, and saddened when he went down. He also bats LH which we can use against Astros RH exclusive staff. If Stanton is not good to go then bring tauchman up. Boone already said he's sticking with Gary, if he looks as lost in his first plate appearance as he has all post season, then pinch hit tauchman for him, and sub romine in for tauchman next inning. Got show some different looks out there. Clearly current line up is not producing
