eh, his catchable ball rate on deep passes (20+ yards) was 48.1% tied for 15th in the league with Kirk Cousins. His overall catchable pass rate was 71.1% was goo for 44th in the league. I'll give you Jones was way worse on deep balls in comparison 30.8% but Jones was 8th in the entire league with 77.5% overall catchable pass rate Jones 77.5% would be skewed heaviliy due to the fact that he rarely throws it deep, so much less of sample size. I would guess single digits in his 5 game sample size. Even if you look at YPA, Taylor was at a respectful 7.4, DJ 5.7 - massive delta. 7.4 was Josh Allens YPA last year, for context. If Mike is saying Taylors contract is bad, what are we saying about DJs, lol. The problem isn't Taylor's YPA, it's his durability. If Rodgers gets another serious again, the Jets season is over. If Taylor is expected to play for any extended stretch, you better have a capable #3 QB. And Taylor may be going to an even worse OL.

Durability is more a concern for starters, but its a risk. However, Taylor played like a top-20 NFL QB when healthy last year, Jets will risk some durability to know his upside. Arod should have a full season, generally doesn't stay hurt. Taylor with that teams offence would look pretty good, compared to what they've had at back up

On paper I wouldn't say that's any better than our upgrades. Smith is 33 and hasn't played a full season in almost a decade. Simpson/Runyan are fairly equal. I like that we went with youth and durability. Both players have an upside.

Especially when they keep him on his limited regiment during the week. He was a second team All Pro last year and played in 13 games. Three more than Thomas.

They still have Joe Tippman and Vera Tucker as young interior OL. They can afford to add another at #10 Jets are leagues better than the Giants in just about every position. Including OL
