I am a young 82, been following the Giants since 1954. Been blessed to see the 1956 NFL championship and 4 Super Bowls. Hated to lose those championships to the Colts, Packers & Ravens. Hoping for a couple of three more Super Bowls in my lifetime. Originally from the east coast, now living in Vegas. wow I wish I'm still on at that age lol

I guess it makes sense that we're an older group given that we prefer a message board over FB or Twitter. I'm 62 and I gotta say that it's great seeing the older guys so active here as well as the younger guys putting up with us. i comment on some stuff on fb and twitter but here I guess it's a lot easier to keep track of stuff. Sort of like how you have cloud storage on your phone to back up your stuff.....

41 my earlier memory is watching the Giants in 1986. My dad brainwashed me with the "Giants Among Men" VHS tapes from 1986 when I was 5 instead of cartoons. yeah i remember recording the SB in 90 on our Vcr that had a corded remote....

41. Been lurking around here since my mid-20's going back to the old board.
Born and raised in Raleigh, NC and the only one in a large family not from the Bronx. Die hard fan since day-1 thanks to my Pops. When the Giants got in a rut in the early 90's and they stopped putting them on TV down here, I searched the local newspaper and ended up finding a Giants fan club that was a few miles from where I lived. I rode my bike there every Sunday when I was about 11 years old. I was the only kid in the place, so the adults and bartenders got a kick out of it, but I couldn't miss a game.
The name of the place was Duffy's. Duffy's ended up becoming our family tradition every Sunday for nearly 20 years. There was a great group of regulars that came back every year, mostly folks from NY, and the food was legit awesome. Best wings and ranch in Raleigh, hands down. Miss that place to this day.
maybe 3 and half hours from me and sounds like how I wanted to watch and keep up with my Giants back in the late 80's and 90's.....

Allen was an awesome football player. He did it all. FB, RB played D in college. Went back to FB when they drafted Bo. He could glide like Sayers yet had power and vision unlike most other backs. One of the best to ever play the game for sure. He really was and doesn't get a lot of accolades. Al Davis tried to ruin his career and cost him a few years in his prime before he went to KC. That run he made against the Redskins in the SB completely reversing field and scoring was one of the greatest runs I've ever seen. Probably the best in SB history...or close. Man I also remember ordering something from Sports illustrated around 89 to get a copy of the Superbowls up to that point, it was on Vhs and man I loved watching that tape and seeing us on it definitley . When we played in the 87 SB I didnt watch it and don't know what the heck I was doing that day. I musta didn't really get all into it until around 88 or 89 but in 85 I remember picking them as my team.....

I'm 56, turning 57 in about a week. I'm from Rome, NY, live in a town just North of Syracuse now. Obviously why I call myself Orange Giant. I actually grew up a huge Raiders fan until I was probably about 15. I was a huge Marcus Allen fan (one of the most underrated RB's in history IMO). When Al Davis banished him to the bench because of a personal beef...that was it for me. I had also always liked the Giants, so they became my favorite team. Everyone knows that Al Davis ran his team with an iron fist.. Nothing moved without his say so. Besides Walter Payton.. no one was more well rounded than Marcus Allen. He had a bloodhounds nose for the end zone.. With the speed of a cheetah. A Super Bowl hero who was demoted to a backup. Al Davis brought in every back to further bury Allen into the black hole. Once he got out of his grasp he took the handoff and ran off tackle all the way to Kansas City. Davis saw nothing but red as Allen resurrected a career that was dying in the city of angels. Al made sure he wouldn’t see canton over his dead body. He not only got in.. he skated in on the first ballot. how old are you if you care to participate, I don't think I saw your reply. I'd guess around 50

Obviously answers are voluntary. McCherry’s post of tribute to GL got me thinking about this. When Im high fiving your comment, our finding a polite way to say I think you’re nuts (I’m sure my comments illicit the same responses, more of the latter than former), I want to make sure my mind’s eye has the right image to congratulate or chide. I’m 51. Im 35! Your eligible to be President.

My avatar dates me to the the '50s. And I have the scars to prove it. I've seen all the highs & lows of our Giants. Always humble in victory & proud in defeat. Anxiously awaiting the new season. Us old timers remember #75, he is one of my all time players ever. That D line was one of the greatest ever. (DE) Katcavage, (DT) Grier / (DT) Lovatere, (DT) Modzeleski, (DE) Robustelli. (Probably spelled every name wrong) lol Loved that defense and Loved that team.

On 3/16/24 I was 77.5. So, one of the oldest farts on here... but, not the oldest. Born Jamaica, Queens and raised a Dodger fan and went to several games at Ebbets, then became an original Mets fan but loved my Dodgers until Koufax retired. Didn't start watching Football/Giants until the '58 Championship game against Colts. My wife's aunt was a Giant season ticket holder starting '43. Went to most every game at Yale Bowl with her starting preseason games in '68 when I moved to CT., and the regular season games there in '73 and '74. I moved to NJ in '75 and when Giants moved to Meadowlands in '76 she gave me the two tickets for good.. I went to my last game 2019 and turned the tickets over to a nephew. They've been in the family 80 years. Most on here are older than I imagined. Good to know there are others who also endured the 20 dismal years of bad teams. Been on these boards since 2000. Hoping to hang in here long enough to see Giants return to a SB. My son and I went to SB XXV in Tampa. Nice experience.

Oh you were lucky we were still good in 1960 even though we didn't win the East in 1960. My first game I was in high school in 1965 at Yankee Stadium vs the Detroit Lions we sat in the left field bleachers around the 30 yd line. We were anything but a good team lol. Thing is and I'm being serious, win or loose it was a great game. Even when they lost they had great Defense and when the team was real bad, I had gotten to see the real Stars of the early NFL. The Purple People Eaters, The Fearsome Foursome, Jim Brown, Fran Tarkenton, Rodger Stauback, Dallas's Doonsday D I could go on and on. To add the fans were different , oh yeah they booed but at no point was my Father never embarrassed or worried about taking any of us to a game at the old Yankee stadium. The best BOOs at NY Giant games sounded oddly like "Goodbye Allie" when they played at the Yale Bowl. lol

37, preseason starts right around my B-day. The only reason I found this place was getting kicked off the NYG reddit for my repeated choice of words with a person advocating tanking for picks. The higher barrier for entry here makes this a much more reasonable place. NY born and raised. I take more inspiration from George Carlin in life than a reasonable person should, so I felt it was a good pic. If I had a fan in life to watch with then I'd not be here, but discussion helps to understand, and I like learning.

Funny thing is, I don't get along with old (over 35) folks at all.. Just today I was backing into a parking space at the local Wegmans and I just (very lightly) tapped the side mirror on a late model Tesla parked right next to me. So I pulled away and looked at the (potential) carnage and I found.....nothing......nada (not even a flesh wound). The owner of the damaged vehicle went completely apeshit and started railing about me driving and the driving style of the area and the fact that I could have totaled his precious mobile (expensive) appliance and blah de blah yada yada (world is coming to an end) yada. By my reckoning the dude was not a day over 84 and cranky as all get out. In the meantime I apologized and offered to mitigate any damage. He then demanded to get all my personal info including insurance and home and other personal items. If he wasn't such an asshole I would have been amenable but decided not to so I told him I left my insurance stuff at home, I will contact him later with it. He said; "I'm a scientist I know this is bullshit blah fn blah"..He insisted so I gave him a fake phone # and name. Just bought the vehicle so the pic he took of the plate was also false.. I got cranky old man wacko vibes so I didn't respond with aggression and I was very polite and respectful so as not to escalate. lol lol yeah that's crazy. Maybe he should be like me as in any of my nice vehicles especially my Stangs, I don't give a damn if it's , well first off I don't drive them in the rain unless I get caught in it but when I drive them and stop and Wally world or store or something, I'm parking waaayyy the heck off so no one can park next to me lol. I don't care about walking. Funny thing is sometimes it'll be someone that'll still park by me and it might be a station wagon lmmfao and smh........ Well some dudes roll past their expiration date and this is what happens...They do make nice greeters at Walmart and Costco tho'..I'm hoping when I get to be really old, like 40... I get done in by a jealous teen age boyfriend.. As for the Stangs, not too shabby depending what flavor you have..I can relate there are certain cars in my fleet that don't see the light of day if there is even a threat of rain (or boyfriends)
