This turned out to be a great thread. It's always great to learn more about the members here on a personal basis. I've had the pleasure of meeting some of us in person, and those memories will last a lifetime. We don't always agree on here (especially on 8), but it is all fun and love for me on here.

61 Born and raised Rochester (Greece NY). My dad was a rabid Yankee fan and a big Giant fan. He worked 2nd shift so fishing or watching Giant games was what we did together. I took it further by adding Rangers and Knicks but strayed to Orioles( Rochester was their Triple A farm team) and I saw some greats go through-- Palmer, Flanagan, Grich, Singleton, Bumbry, Decinces, Dempsey, Murray, and Ripken. The NY football Giants was my number 1 sports team and still is today. My dad had his Giants fandom fade with that dark period from '73--'80 but that only built my resolve that much stronger. I started watching in 1970 but got really into it in '72 with Snead, Tucker, Johnson and my favorite Jimmy Files. The Super Bowls were Oh so sweet after that dark period. When I started my Salmon Charter fishing business I moved to western Lake Ontario region of Niagara County. Only 35 mins to Niagara Falls and an hour to Rochester but its pretty country with lots of open spaces and various farming operations along with Wineries and breweries. I'm happy to report my daughter is a NYG fan and I'm going to be a grandfather for the first time the end of June.

Great idea for a thread.
37 here, Giants fan because my Dad was a Giants fan. Would have been impossible to be anything else.
Used to be a baseball nut too, Yankees, but following two professional sports that deeply got wild and I fell off of baseball. If I follow it, I've gotta go hard.

The first time was over 25 years ago. I read up on the Niagara River etc. Got all the gear and was stoked. Got up there, stood at the bank (couldnt tell you where at this point) and was completely overwhelmed by the immensity of the river!...lol. Stood there with mouth hanging open wondering what the hell to do next! Cold and icy too. There was so much I didnt know! Went salmon fishing two more times after that but went to Pulaski instead!

Guess I should say, born in delaware area. Family were eagles fans, so I was the punk kid that had to root for the opposite team, the giants, back in the dave brown days… When asked what my favorite baseball team was… being a kid, I said, the giants.
Fast forward about a decade and both teams are winning World Series and Super Bowls, you’re welcome!!

Something we can all agree on. That this is a great thread.
I’m 67 but I don’t look a day over 66.
Just retired at the end of January so I will probably be checking in more often.
My Dad and brother were Giant fans and now my sons and daughter and their children are Giant fans as well. My wife? Maybe. But when I asked her who Peyton Manning was she said it was Eli’s wife. So I don’t think she’s as dialed in as the rest of us.
I would very much like for us all to arrange to meet at a game if that is possible. It would be great to meet all of you.

I'm actually 13.5 if you go by actual leap year age. Grew up in N. Jersey.. Always been a smart ass love to joke around and have fun. Life is way too short to be upset and be a stuck up prim all the time (msg members excluded of course). Dad was from Europe so football was actually futbol for the immigrants. However he got attached to baseball and loved the Brooklyn Dodgers. As time went on he started watching Giant games on TV and I watched with him. I also started watching from my friends houses on Sunday afternoons couldn't get over how worked up some if their dads were yelling at the TV. This was in the 70s so they were yelling a lot lol. So the G-men back then were the loveable losers and somehow I became a fan. When Parcels was hired things started to turn around and then things started to become intense

45 going on 17 as evidenced by that awesome T-rex in my avatar that is actually in front of my house. I have been living in this dump (DFW) since I was 8 but been a Giants fan my entire life. My parents and grandparents used to take me to watch them practice in the summer at Pace University near where I grew up, those are my first memories of the Giants and it happened to be ~1986 with all the greats, including Parcells.

52 My dad, who is my reason for being a Giants fan, had triple bypass surgery when he was 52. (He turns 80 in April.) So the superstitious part of me is hoping for 53 to come quickly. Grew up in Utica. In the late 70's and early 80's, kids would come up to me and say, "Who do you like, the Steelers or the Cowboys?" When I would say the Giants, they would act as if they didn't even know that a team existed with that name. Very soon they would know better.

I spent most of My Life in Bridgewater NJ (still there). But grade school years were the best. We lived on the Island of Chincoteague in Va. My Father worked for NASA on Wallops Island. I can remember in the early 70s. Going to school and the walls in the classroom would shake. The Coast Guard station on the island. Did not have Cutters. 2 Destroyers were part of the CG's allotment. They were there for one reason. To keep NASA's facility secure. The 8-inch guns on those ships would sing on a regular basis. This was before the 200 Mile law that excluded foreign vessels for fishing within US waters. At that time during the cold war. The Russians had a fleet of fishing trollers that stayed in the vicinity. But when they got to close to Wallops. Those 2 destroyers would lob those 8-inch shells over them and across their bow. Even 20 miles away. The shock wave from those guns would shake the school. One right after the other Boom Boom Boom Boom.... I can remember My father would take us out in his boat to watch Launches from the Island. "A weather satellite" It was always some "weather instrument". I would be looking at ground on the island. The rocket was already 2 miles high. It was a fun youth growing up on Chincoteague.

Hand down that Giant love.... new grand daughter or grand son need to be nurtured properly up there on Buffalo Bills territory. Best of luck on that upcoming birth. You'll find out that grandchildren are very different from your own... mostly because you have no pressure to 'raise' them or discipline them. You did that in your time... and now your daughter and son-in-law will have that responsibility. You have responsibility to just love them.... and make them Giany fans. lol. You mention the dark period of '73 to '80, but your dad surely lived the dark times before '73. After the '63 season it was all downhill... the days when we chose Allie Sherman as head coach and let two of the greatest coaches ever to escape from our coaching ranks... Lombardi and Landry. Imagine... you have the choice of a Rolls Royce or a Mercedes in your garage to drive to the dance, but you chose to go with the Volkswagon.

Everyone knows that Al Davis ran his team with an iron fist.. Nothing moved without his say so. Besides Walter Payton.. no one was more well rounded than Marcus Allen. He had a bloodhounds nose for the end zone.. With the speed of a cheetah. A Super Bowl hero who was demoted to a backup. Al Davis brought in every back to further bury Allen into the black hole. Once he got out of his grasp he took the handoff and ran off tackle all the way to Kansas City. Davis saw nothing but red as Allen resurrected a career that was dying in the city of angels. Al made sure he wouldn’t see canton over his dead body. He not only got in.. he skated in on the first ballot. how old are you if you care to participate, I don't think I saw your reply. I'd guess around 50 Old enough that my scars have scars.. I’m still in my prime as my time is not yet up. My mind is sharper than a tungsten needle. As I can still level the competition. Father Time who knows me by a first name basis.. Tried its mightiest to take me down. It went after my joints.. it tore into my tendons. It even broke bones.. Instead of extinguishing the inferno.. It only fueled the furnace that burns inside me. Age ain’t shit..

lol lol yeah that's crazy. Maybe he should be like me as in any of my nice vehicles especially my Stangs, I don't give a damn if it's , well first off I don't drive them in the rain unless I get caught in it but when I drive them and stop and Wally world or store or something, I'm parking waaayyy the heck off so no one can park next to me lol. I don't care about walking. Funny thing is sometimes it'll be someone that'll still park by me and it might be a station wagon lmmfao and smh........ Well some dudes roll past their expiration date and this is what happens...They do make nice greeters at Walmart and Costco tho'..I'm hoping when I get to be really old, like 40... I get done in by a jealous teen age boyfriend.. As for the Stangs, not too shabby depending what flavor you have..I can relate there are certain cars in my fleet that don't see the light of day if there is even a threat of rain (or boyfriends) lol yeaaah funny stuff...... I have a 94 Cobra, 95 Gt Saleen, and 04 Cobra so fun fun definitely...... I wasn't always that way but when I joined the groups on fb when I was looking to replace my original 95 that got hit in 2015, I adopted a lot of things from guys about their cars..

Was curious as to what the average age of the board members were, so decided to throw all the data onto a spreadsheet since I had some free time. Surprised that TEM didn't already do this... According to the data within 10 years the average board member here will be on SS/Medicare enjoying their time playing gulf or on a cruise while reading up that the Giants have fired their 4th GM and 7th HC because they failed Daniel Jones and that this year will be the year that he finally breaks out (sorry, saw a poster saying they were waiting to see how someone would inject Daniel Jones into this thread )

Yeah the "Mighty Niagara" is actually not a river but a strait. It connects Lake Erie to Lake Ontario with some sections as deep as 200'. That Salmon River in Pulaski is a beautiful river but mobbed during the Fall Salmon runs. My operation actually chases the Salmon, Steelhead, Brown trout, and Lake Trout out in the open Lake--which is actually like a small ocean.
