Every Barkley Rush:
I rewatched every run about 5 times to focus on all the linemen. I notice the Oline missing a lot of blocks on these runs. Hernandez got pushed around a bit which surprises me. Thought he was much stronger. Solder missed a block on one of the runs which gets blown up in the backfield. Halapio and Omamaeh got tossed around on a run, pushed back quite a bit.
This OLine is still very worrisome. Flowers looked the best of the bunch. Yikes.
Ready for improvements week 2.

think he looked pretty good couple 4 yard runs mixed once he 's getting more touches and gets in sync with the OL he will start turning those 4 yarders into bigger runs.

What I'd like to say is consistency from the running game. 39 yards in one run was great. But I'd take those 39 yards away if he were to only get 20 total yards, but 5 yards a carry.

I didnt like the fact we were going into the season with Jones as the starting center.... then it was Halapio. Its a very weak spot in a very important position. Not a fan of this situation.

I have a general question for both of your observations - in a 3-4 defense, how many LBers rushing the passer would be considered blitzing? i really don't know man. that is why i'm asking you fellas.... O.K., hopefully we can get an answer on that from someone else - I'm curious, now.
I like the occasional blitzing of secondary personnel, but of course that can create a severe mismatch downfield, if you don't get there quick enough. Maybe if our team had the personnel, they could do this when nickel packages were in there. That would reduce the risk.

poise as in staying the pocket and going through his progressions. The lack of accuracy had more to do with the jitters. I’m not writing him off yet. I bet he’ll improve next week now that he got his first game jitters out of the way.
I could understand him having the first series jitters. But the entire time he played?Â
i don’t want to sound like I’m excusing him because I was a bit disappointed myself but people are killing the guy after one half worth of football. He has work to do but he has at least 2 years to fix them.

A lot of panic, both sides of the ball are learning new systems a lot of new faces it's gonna take time,I think you know just like most of us that they couldn't get it all done in one offseason, to me they are improved this is a process.

Whoever posted this video on YouTube really needs to pay more attention; Barkley is not even the running back on 3 of the plays. For some reason they ran a pitch left play with the not so speedy James Stewart. Stewart also missed 2 blitz pick ups last night, I expect better than that from the veteran.
With regards to the O-line play, I thought they played well.
- First run was blocked well with the 2 TEs sealing their guys and creating a lane on the backside.
- The run plays at the 0:30 & 0:49 marks were blocked well, good straight ahead no frills running for positive yards.
- The last play could have easily gone for at least 20 yards if Sterling Shepard doesn't whiff on his block of Denzel Ward. Whiff is being kind...he didn't even attempt to block Ward, who ends up slowing down Barkley for a gain of 2 yds.
The team rushing average was 5.8 yds, not too shabby. It isn't just the numbers, but to visually see our O-line moving the line of scrimmage was a great sight to see. The blocking techniques/schemes look so much better.

Anyone watching Sam Darnold? The QB we passed on?

Anyone watching Sam Darnold? The QB we passed on? Darnold looks really good but they have a steal in Bridgewater. He's a legit NFL franchise type QB. It could end up a Brees/Rivers kind of situation.

Anyone watching Sam Darnold? The QB we passed on? Only watched the first half but he looked good IMO. That being said.. it looked like the Falcons were playing VERY soft zone defense for some reason. Everyone was wide open for all 3 Qb's despite a lot of 4 man rushes..

I really think a lot of fans forget this team was 3-13 last year. They were awful. It takes a few years to change that over most times, especially when you get a new offense and defense, new HC and a new GM. That's what I'm afraid of. Hey, I'm 75 years old. I don't know if I can wait that long. I'm right behind you Catch, I also am hoping for one more championship while I can still stand up and cheer.

Bridgewater could be an option here next year if the Jets hold on to him for the remainder of this year, he's young with solid talent, probably not much mobility anymore after that terrible knee injury.

Everyone was wide open for all 3 Qb's despite a lot of 4 man rushes.. so far the Mayfield and Darnold look pretty good but that all can change with some game planning and some tight press or even bump and run coverage,I have said it before 4 years ago would you think RG3 would be out of the league for a year and be bouncing from team to team, and Luck spending more time in the trainers room then on the fields far so good for the rookies but it is way to soon to know what is gonna happen with any of them.

I agree...As much as I am a fan of Eli I can't see this team winning with him now. I think their best shot would have been in 2016 when we had a good defense but unfortunately our offense sucked ass...

Dak looked all world in 2016, once DCs had a yr's worth of film on him last yr, he came down to earth. Giants need to contain Zeke in week 2 & force Dak to beat them with his arm. Don't think all his dinking & dunking will get it done. Come Sept, Mayfield will see the vast difference between preseason defenses & real game defenses.

I think Baker is one of them. He went through a lot to get where he is right now. He has the "it" factor you need in a QB. And he has some very good young pieces around him. That Callaway kid is going to be a top 10 WR in the league if he keeps clean which is a big gamble knowing his track record. But he is that talented, much like Josh Gordon IMO. That said, they are the Browns so you never can trust anyone working out there. I think Bark is going to be a great RB. I really do. But I still feel it wasnt the right choice with where we are as a team right now. If it takes a few years to turn around which I think it will, Eli wont be a part of it.

I Agree i just don't want to anoint any of them yet but Darnold and Mayfield have a chance to be good, the guy know one is talking about is Rosen if and it's a big if can stay healthy he will br right there with them if not better.
