If Gettleman is all over Parsons after getting burned on Baker, he is dumber than I thought. this all assumes that King actually knows what various parties prefer in the draft.

So... a scenario;
Judge wants Smith, Getty wants Parsons. Judge says to Getty "Get me Smith!" Getty "I'm the GM and I'm drafting Parsons" and he does.. Pisses off Judge..How long do you think Judge lasts in the org after that? Especially if Smith shines elsewhere and Parsons becomes another Deandre Baker
This is my theory with Paye more than Parsons Parsons has people on Judge's staff that were at Pen State that Judge personnelly trusts .. Parsons as on field production Paye has none of this and is not the best fit... Does Chris Mara have the power some of us fear because some of these inexplicable bad picks that make no sense that have happened for over a decade cake from somewhere (and Ross/Reese to now Gettleman and still the same things ,one constant),the same reason we still have a very ancient hight weight thing when it comes to linebackers while the rest of the league are downsizing them.. Tonight and tbis weekend will tell us if we have indeed become a modern franchise or we are still stuck in the stone age CM , may have a say in two six round picks.

Who cares about Solder. The Giants compounded a mistake with another one with Solder. As for replacing Beckham, we could of drafted A.J Brown in the ‘19 draft. With trading up to get Baker, we had a total of three 1st round picks. We should have used one of them to replace Beckham. Someone had to line up at LT in 2019-20... Baker was easily Gettleman's biggest mistake by far. The Giant insiders had a guy that talked about Baker not even training for the combine. Didn't even bother despite his agent paying for the training. To me, thats a massive red flag, work ethic will be poor. Funny how he was sleeping in meetings in the pros. We traded 3 draft picks to get him. Makes no sense at all. They should have known that. This is outside of the error of thinking its wise to trade up for a non-QB. This is an imperfect science. Trading up is almost always the wrong move.

How about if Parsons becomes another Devin Busch and Smith gets hurt like their afraid of ? Glass half full or half empty ? Or..
Parsons is the next coming of LT, is a candidate for not only ROY but MVP. The team is making a playoff run deep in the season......until a stash of (underage) malasian pygmy porn is discovered on Parson's laptop he gets sent to the pokey and the season goes *pfft* up in smoke like bad cheech and chong movie..

How did they get played? The Giants still made out pretty fat by trading back. The Bears are horrible and might finish 3-13.

I wouldn’t say that. Eagles and Cowboys had that trade Worked out for a while I guarantee it. The Giants were well prepared. They did not get caught looking like fools and make a panic pick as in the past. The trade with the Bears is very good. Better than recent similar trades. Long term the Giants will come out ahead. Philly is being run the way Matt Millen would. Parsons could be a problem, but if there is a team that will find a way to screw him up it is Dallas

Gettleman blew it again tonight. Not true. We still a got the same type receiver as Waddle and a 1st rd talent. We got an extra 1st rd next year. The Bears probably come in 3rd in their division. Have no idea what direction we go with our 2nd rd pick. Defense or OL. Were not in bad shape there are going to be a lot of 1st rd talent in the 1st half of the 2nd rd. You'll be happy next year. Take a deep breath we got a play maker, were going to get a real good player in the 2nd rd. Next year we have 2 first rd picks. Were OK , it's just not what you expected. Were good.

Well now it looks pretty obvious that King was wrong on both points as the Giants didn’t like Smith or Parsons.

Well now it looks pretty obvious that King was wrong on both points as the Giants didn’t like Smith or Parsons. I don't get this. It is CLEAR that the Giants were picking Smith...that's why Philly jumped us to pick him. We then immediately traded down once he was picked, and THEN picked a poor man's version of Smith at 20.
How are you not seeing this?

You would have traded up for Smith? A WR in the first?
