Skill positions are often divas. Can we please stop allocating dollars towards financially stable skill positions who are looking for one more payday?

I like Bellinger. He needs to be more involved, but Waller had more than twice as many catches in 5 fewer games. The two aren't even close in receiving ability. Waller is the better athlete, but he had twice as many catches because he had triple the amount of targets. Wallers stat line was not good and he did not look good. He was about as average as a TE could possible be with many bad plays. I'll disagree. Wallers catch percentage was near his career high at 70%. He led all TE's in the league in yardage when he got hurt. His 4.3 rpg put him on pace for 70+ catches on the season. His only issues were the same as always, missed games but he certainly was productive when on the field.

Hopefully this will be a good thing but based on this past season, I can't help thinking "don't do us any favors."
Tell you what, he is already thinking about retiring it's in his head whats his effort gonna be like. That's a valid concern for sure. It wouldn't surprise me if he calls it quits before the season which includes after coming to camp.

I’m all for bringing Waller back, but I want us to start using Bellinger more. I feel like he’s a solid weapon who’s completely misused due to staying inline to help the OL block.

I was never that excited about the signing. He didn’t change my perspective last season.
Rap takes less talent.
You talk because you can’t sing. Lyrics in general are all about the same crap. All done to a beat an 8 year old can keep.
It’s awful. Just my opinion though - we all got em.

I wouldn't use that word, but the idea he wasn't a good player when healthy is just false.

I think he is done here he still is not decided he has told everyone involved that he still hasn't decided his wife and life is on the west coast I get it, this seems to have flip flopped back to undecided.

If he retires how’s the dead money on his contract work out? Anyone know? Can’t find anything definitive on my mobile google machine.

Once you start thinking about retirement, your heart’s not in it anymore 16th in the league in TE receiving yards...tied for 41st in TE receiving touchdowns. Dude retired 3 years ago.

He's 31, which isn't too bad, Kelce is 34 and still top of his game.
I think with a good QB he can still perform as a top 10 TE, he still has tread left imo. Too bad we don't have even an average QB

I get the dead money cap hit penalty if you cut a guy but a guy just ups and retires on you and you’re still stuck with his contract hit on your books? Contract should be voided altogether. Geeez….if that’s the case I’d just cut him….you don’t want this guy getting to week two and just calling it quits. You need to know the holes you need to fill prior to the draft and free agency ending….and there are a lot of them as is.

What an odd career he's had. Gets drafted as a late-round WR, converts to TE, gets suspended for an entire year, goes to rehab, gets sent to the practice squad, comes back and becomes a top TE in the league, only really plays like 5 (mostly-partial) seasons, and then he's ready to retire?
I wonder how much of this is a Darren Waller problem and how much of it is a Giants problem. If we were in the playoffs this year would he still be considering hanging it up?

Tell you what, he is already thinking about retiring it's in his head whats his effort gonna be like. Not sure that's fair. Jason Kelce has considered retirement each year for years...not an effort issue with him. Don't think that's a guarantee.

If the guy thinks his hamstring issues have reached the point of "no matter what I do it's gonna flare up" and he doesn't want that, wouldn't blame him for retiring one bit.

He's confirmed that he's undecided since this story came out. just cut him. He’s not even a TE. He’s split out or closer to the LOS but he doesn’t block, gets hurt and obviously doesn’t really want to play work. They have Bellinger.

Too bad we don't have even an average QB His underwhelming performance last year had more to do with games missed than Jones. If he doesn’t retire, he’ll miss a bunch of games this season too

Cut him after June 1 - saves $11.5M in cap and leaves $2.5M in dead cap - honestly if he is thinking about retiring, so be it as he had minimal impact last season and certainly was not worth $14M per year. With the cap savings they could sign one of Free Agent Guards (need to sign 2) and make better use of the $$. Full disclosure, I was happy when they traded for him but disappointed with the return on investment so my view is in hindsight.
