Even if he did or didnt do it, his lawyer would say the same thing.
If he did it, it should be easy to prove. Unless he paid everyone off, which does happen quite a bit with wealthy famous people. Then we all are at odds on some OJ Simpson type stuff.

The story was questionable from the beginning. With this day an age of social media, instagram, twitter, facebook, etc. Wheres the cell phone video of the event. Did all of these partygoers freeze up at the time. You would figure that multiple NFL players were at the party, somebody would have posted something by now. So this big robbery happened, does anybody have a police report? What time did they respond? Im not talking about the warrant issuance either. The Police report and them pulling into the residence to look for the assailants that actual night. So when 2 socalled celebrity thugs rob innocent people of their posessions, the natural response would be to call 911 I have been robbed. What time did they show up? Why wasnt there a car chase looking for armed gunman in a Lambo, Mercedes, and Beamer racing away. Why wasnt the chopper scrambled. Where is the 911 call transcript? What about the media, im sure they would have have responded to the call. Anybody got that? Thats why in my original posts I asked who is at the party? Wheres the video? Maybe its there , maybe they looked and couldnt find these guys. Doesnt that seem weird, you would think units would be waiting at their house. If anybody calls about a guy with a gun in the neighborhood just robbed you and fled. What is the response? Probably about half the police force looking for gunmen in the city.

LMAO what if it turns out these two are actually innocent, wouldn't that be some wild shit. WOuldn't be the first time a PD effed up royally and wouldn't be the last. I digress, if he's innocent.. the question remains does this kid still have a spot? I mean last year gave up on plays, didn't work on learning the playbook and by most accounts doesn't seem all that bright. Then this offseason wasn't even going to the virtual meetings, and now this even if it is all a mishap.. I think he's toast either way at this point .

Why wasn’t this a big deal after he was drafted.? Who’s the source? Probably , a scout who was fired. But, hard to argue after this past event . What , gets me DG traded up and gambled big time . why wasn't this "news" out on draft day? If Baker was "so bad" how come Gettlemen wasn't flamed for it then? |

And who are "these people"?
Why that would be any scout, analyst or pundit out there. What it look like to me is that anyone who said he was "lazy or unmotivated" is now saying, "see, I told your so" when he he's accused of armed robbery. Because really, it's the same thing.
Another case of being right about every player scouted. Polishing up that reputation, based on nothing.
Dave is 100% responsible for signing a player seen as lazy and taking that chance. Unless Dave planned the alleged robbery, hard to connect those dots for me.

And this is coming from someone who liked the pick. Did he get better his last couple of games? Maybe. Or maybe it was the fact the QB was picking on the other CB all the time because he was much much worse (Was it Haley? Cant remember, but I do remember they started going his way over and over). Baker had an awful rookie year. And now we know why. He didnt care at all. Character concerns that were pointed out well prior to the draft. |

If something does happen and this thing goes a way then lets hope for a miracle that this wakes Baker up and he becomes a good player.
If it doesn't go a way and this kid doesn't play again then he becomes a terrible decision by Getty and the worst 1st rounder in Giants history..

If he’s innocent, he deserves a fair shot to redeem himself with the new coaching staff for his attitude and performance during the prior year. It certainly does not excuse his behavior but he deserves the opportunity nonetheless.
But there should be zero tolerance based on his prior history. He has earned that based on his rookie “efforts.”
If innocent, we will find out in very short time what this young man is made out of. Skipping voluntary Zoom meetings is not a good sign and someone, whether it be the coaches, a family member or even a former coach better set this guy straight because the new HC is a guy that doesn’t seem like he’s going to look the other way if Baker acts out.
Who knows? Maybe a flash goes on in his dim bulb and he takes all of this as a springboard to getting his priorities right.
It’s a long shot but crazier things have happened.

DeAndre Baker’s red flags sparked Giants draft ‘battle’
DeAndre Baker wasn’t the only one gambling.
The Giants ignored red flags uncovered in scouting Baker and placed a bet on talent by selecting the cornerback in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft despite an organizational split on whether he was worth the risk.
“There was a battle in our building on whether we were going to take DeAndre or not,”
a source privy to the Giants’ draft thinking told The Post, “because the story was he had to have his a– kicked every day to work hard at Georgia — to even go to practice. We knew that and we still drafted him, and from Day 1 it was like taking a guy in the
first round that you had to teach nearly everything to.”
General manager Dave Gettleman’s unexplained break from prioritizing clean character could cost the Giants dearly on the depth chart — where they have no suitable replacement — and in the bank (Baker signed a four-year, $10.2 million contract).
Police in Florida issued an arrest warrant Thursday for Baker, 22, on four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault.
Baker and Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar — charged with four counts of armed robbery with a firearm — allegedly lost $70,000 gambling earlier in the week before they and a masked accomplice stole $12,000 in cash and an estimated $61,000 in watches at gunpoint during another party with more gambling, witnesses said in a police affidavit.
The allegations are a long and difficult-to-foresee leap from the whispers about motivation, work ethic, commitment and responsibility that followed Baker before the draft — especially after his disappointing NFL Scouting Combine performance, both in drills and disengaged interviews — and caused multiple teams to slide him down their boards.
The Giants traded second-, fourth- and fifth-round picks to move up seven spots from No. 37 to No. 30 to make Baker the first cornerback off the board. Others in the building preferred Temple’s Rock Ya-Sin (Colts), Central Michigan’s Sean Murphy-Bunting (Buccaneers) and LSU’s Greedy Williams (Browns).
Those three are among seven second-round cornerbacks who were drafted after Baker, though Gettleman had ruled out Williams, the source said. Given the depth at the position, it was the kind of bold trade where a team must be sure one option is clear-cut above the rest.
“This is a bad look for the Giants,” one NFL scout said when asked what the Giants missed.
Baker, who allowed one touchdown pass in his final three years at Georgia, struggled handling the adversity of a poor start to his rookie season. He didn’t start Week 1, was torched in Week 2 and benched multiple times.
Baker routinely had difficulty staying awake in meetings and the previous Giants coaching staff took a “bad cop, bad cop” firm hand behind the scenes, the source said. The response was more tuning out instruction — Baker admitted he needed to spend more time in his playbook after a Week 10 loss to the Cowboys — than disrespect.
Baker did not participate in the Giants’ voluntary minicamp this week, according to The Athletic.
“You’d take him off his film,” a league source said. “But there were too many red flags. It felt like New York was a bad spot for him, anyway.”
Darryl Elmore, who coached Baker in track at Northwestern High School in Miami told The Post he was very surprised to hear of the allegations. Despite growing up in a neighborhood where violence is prevalent, Baker “wasn’t involved in any of that” and was the type of teenager a coach doesn’t worry about, Elmore said.
Some folks may have thought Baker had an issue with motivation. Others believed they could work with him. Similar "battles" happen over nearly every player, in every team's draft room, every year. As the article states, an apparent lack of motivation isn't a predecessor to armed robbery. Baker had no history of violence. Nobody could've predicted this would happen. Even the apparent NFL Scout who says this is a bad look for the Giants. A week ago folks were talking about Baker taking a big step in 2020, and becoming a key component to our seemingly revamped Secondary. A week ago, folks had overlooked Bakers struggles early on and pointed to his performance over the latter half of last season as a sign of what's to come. A week ago, nobody was complaining about us drafting Baker. This week, after Baker inexplicably performs armed robbery, DG is the idiot. You really can't make this up. |

There is a lot of talk around the financial hit associated with releasing him.
We are going to have the financial hit regardless for a guy who was almost last in the league last year at his position.
So, let's recap. We are going to have the hit regardless and the guy is going to contribute virtually nothing on the field whether we keep him or not.
What exactly is the difference?
You could reasonably argue that we would be worse off having such a low character, ill prepared guy on the team, taking up an unreasonable amount of coaching time.
