One word....counters. They make a kitchen. Agreed. I had to redo my entire kitchen before we moved in. Here are the before and after pics. I painted the cabinets and resurfaced the old counter top. I also took out the dropped ceiling and florescent lighting, refinished the ceiling and installed some recessed lighting. I can post you some more before and afters of the rest of the house. We completely gutted the master bath and my Beatles room may be of particular interest to you. Just let me know. That is kind of awesome... This is a house I am building on the land of the monkey I married....a house I am requiring screens and bars...screens for the dengue and malaria issues and the bars for the family to swing on.

How much were the ratings off from the opener last year? Was last year’s opener up against the NBA and NHL playoffs? 12% drop overall from what I read, but in the 18-49 demographic, they had about 5 million viewers vs 12 million last year.

But I’m asking because I don’t know; do the Nielsen ratings count those eyeballs? Can they account for all the people using not so legal streaming services? Neilson is bad. How many people here know someone that actually logs into a box to count their demographic every time they watch TV? Broadcasts (radio, tv, streaming) send out signals that are inaudible to the human ear and get picked up by Neilsen's "Portable People Meter" which is basically a like wearing a large pager.
This device collects the signals emitted throughout the day, and allows them to understand exactly when and what people are watching or listening to.
So why do people wear them? Cash money. The longer you wear it, the more cash they send you. We're not talking a lot of money - more like pocket money.
I know this because they tried to get me about a year ago.

It's on her families property, across from the water ....the deal being I live in the boring province when out there vs the city in a condo, but she be willing to live in a cold place in the USA when we come back....vs the Phoenix area. I've been living and working in the Philippines since my military days ... think Florida on steroids. Tiring of that heat, and this desert heat...2 months of 115 was too much. Need some Morehead State winters...3 years away from full retirement. Nice back splash ....

I’ve found that the lack of fans has had no effect whatsoever on my viewing experience I'm gunna disagree. It was better than I expected. But there was a big difference for me without fans.
And some of these guys who had the controls of the "fan noise" have to do a little more practicing.

I tend to agree but I'll have to see how I feel about the loss of home-field advantage after watching tomorrow night.
Although it's not like the Giants have benefited from that for years.

I remember the last Steelers game in our building. There were a LOT of Steelers fans making a lot of noise. I think it was that Mike Wallace game.

Making the 'no-fan' thing beneficial for lousy teams. Man, it would be nice to be pleasantly surprised tomorrow night.

You are now the second person that I have ever heard actually ran into that opportunity. I seriously doubt they have a large enough sample volume.

If they didn't then explain why every network seems reliant on their data.

Probably the best data available. This does not mean it is accurate. Less then 1% of viewership is actually accounted for with this.

You guys do realize the Cable companies log what you watch . Not only do they know what you are viewing. They know when your TV is powered up. It is 100% accurate on viewership. Because all flat screen TVs (smart or not) are basically a computer with an LCD or Plasma screen. The computer (your TV) has to hand shake with the computer it is connecting with Cable Box Fire stick, Kody..... all the same. Wireless or cabled it does not matter.(Session layer of the OSI model). . Because of this hand shaking between the 2 processers . They know when your TV is the in state of on or off. www.quora.com/Does-the-cable-company-know-what-I-am-viewing-on-my-TV-What-do-they-do-with-that-information#:~:text=Not%20only%20do%20they%20know,of%20person%20controlling%20the%20box.

So what you’re saying is the networks, along with corporate America and the producers of radio and television media have knowingly strategized for decades based on erroneous information. What sense does that make?

The leagues key demographic, 18-49 had less than half the viewers compared to last year. Agreeing to play a “Black National Anthem”, all but burned the American flag.....not surprised the rating fell.

So what you’re saying is the networks, along with corporate America and the producers of radio and television media have knowingly strategized for decades based on erroneous information. What sense does that make? It is not erroneous data. Just incomplete. I remember the classic example was family guy. Initially slated to be canceled due to low ratings... But then the DVD sales were so high that there was no way the people were not interested in watching family guy! I certainly don't mean to judge anyone, but in this age of information and privacy being at such a premium, how many people are actually willing to sell this information to cooperations for just a few bucks? I don't think they offer very much... Anyway, and again without actually judging anyone for signing up for this or not signing up for this, if there is any difference in tendency between what Nielsen viewers watch vs what non Nielsen viewers watch this would skew the national data quite heavily since they multiply the Nielsen viewers times a million! Data from streaming on the other hand I would think is much more accurate since in order to make these accounts you need to agree to the privacy policy so that's 100% of the data. Facebook and Hulu probably knows more about us then we know about ourselves these days.

I have intentionally not watched the start of any games. I'm only interested in watching the game.
Whenever the broadcast veers off the subject of football I simply mute the television.
I'm finding it much more enjoyable than I thought.

That was a strange game IIR it was right after Sandy Steelers fans always travel well and you have to remember we lost a few generations of Giants fans in the late 60s through the time they opened the stadium in NJ due to blackout rules, basically homeless for 3 years, and a shitty team which coincided with both Dallas and Pittsburgh becoming teams frontrunner fans gravitated to. We were coming off a super bowl year so it wasn't like this year They take over many home stadiums around the league (remember how they opened the year in Washington and it was a virtual sea of black and gold in that place?
