We didn't draft him over Slater. We received a 2022 first round pick to move back. Are we losing because of LT right now? I didn't even hear Solders name mentioned in all the complaints after Thursday's game. Was Slater available at 11? So yes, we took Toney over Slater. And received magic beans for next year. One player does not win or lose a game. Well, Dexter Lawrence is really testing that theory out. But, Toney hasn’t done dick but tweet. And Slater, dominated his first start. We took Toney and the Bears 2022 1st and 4th round picks over Slater.

Stop, you of all posters have been here long enough to know that if the Giants had drafted O linemen in those spots the people here would still be screaming of lack of weapons, it's a damn if you do and damn if you don't thing around here. yup, the modern day offense rant would be in full meltdown mode. The last GM was delusional regarding the OL. He said, "The talent is there on the OL. It is up to the coaches to bring it out." This GM said essentially: "In this league you win by winning the battles in the trenches. We need to fix this OL." We all understood his words and agreed. No one would have suggested a "weapon" at that point as the first order of business. The only other option as a first priority would have been a QB.

He is the different than most on this message board? Huh? I didn’t know the so many people here were professional football players (except one ) getting paid millions of dollars to play a game. If I were in his shoes (oh wait…) I would stay off social media and shut up my critics by my actions on the field and the sidelines. All this chump has done is run his mouth and talk shit to the coach during the middle of a game. It has nothing to do with payrate or profession . It has to do with personality and lines one is willing to draw in the sand.

Like Toney, those draft picks don’t help us this year.

This organization simply doesn't know how to identify NFL grade talent in the body and between the ears.

I’m one of the few that believe in being held to certain standards, or holding yourself to certain standards, based on profession. Personally, this is as social media as I get and I wouldn’t even tell my co workers I’m on here. I don’t have twitter, never had FB and not on instagram. You know why? Because a) I can get fired for saying certain things b) I can cause rifts between myself and my coworkers based on my opinions c) I’ve seen social media destroy friendships and good working relationships due to what people spout off Toney is a professional football player who not only represents the Giants but the men who paid him millions of dollars to play a game. The media will always be the media and some of them get paid to ruffle feathers. Toney should let his actions speak, not his social media account. As much as I don’t like Gettleman, Toney should show DG and Judge a little f’in respect by not embarrassing them and what the Giants stand for by acting like a little fragile, whiney, complaining, over paid, over rated diva…especially since he hasn’t done jack shit.

Just as I refuse to pitchfork the Giants Coaching and Front Office staff . Although I may be critical and look at what happend during the game and give my opinions or statistical data. You have a right to draw your line in the sand. Toney does also have that right as long as his line is behind "activities the Giants proclaim are detrimental to the team" I sure that has been spelled to every member of the organization. I don't have a Facebook account or linked in . I do have a Twitter account to gather information on the Mets and giants, but rarely tweet. I like this format much better. We are all basically friends here.

as long as he performs on the field, I could care less what he says on instaface. I agree…but he hasn’t done anything except be a side show Agree we still have to see what he is tho he is not a humble dude that for sure and it is donna be tough for him to earn touches as long as he is acting like a child. He needs to gain the QBs trust along with the rest of the offenses.

You’re clearly missing his point, we’d still be 0-2 with Slater so there was no point in drafting him. Just like there was no point in taking Nelson over Barkley, or taking a chance with Trey Smith over a RB in the 6th round. You didn’t know O lines were built 5 players at a time? Pretty sure we still would have sucked with Nelson, still would have sucked with Thomas and Nelson but how solid would this O line be with Nelson, Thomas, Slater, Gates and perhaps Trey Smith? Probably top 10, if not top 5 by now. Instead, we have Thomas, (Gates hurt), a few back ups, Peart/Solder aka back ups. And had we used those picks on who I suggested, we wouldn’t have Barkley, Jones (wasted 3 years of his career now if he’s even the answer), Toney, Rodarius Williams and only one 1st round draft pick (may be spent on a tackle anyways) instead of two. As a result, we could have had everyone else and drafted a QB next year who would be set up perfectly to succeed from day 1 and would be on a rookie contract for several years. This scenario isn’t hindsight, it’s common sense and you know, something our GM said he would do but didn’t “build from the inside out”. If that’s the case. We would suck if we drafted Jesus himself. Well it depends, does he play RT or LG? Also have to consider he would not be available for Saturday games and he will miss out on the high holy days. But at least he would make his mother proud

He needs to gain the QBs trust along with the rest of the offenses. I don't necessarily disagree, but until he crosses the line with what he says, I don't let it bother me. Hopefully he starts getting regular action, on more than simply gadget plays. Get him out there with the regular offense, so other teams don't simply key in on him the few times he does line up.

Who thinks the media is anything BUT clowns? But, who has the power to continue burning your ass, week after week in the eyes of the public? Toney can make 10 catches on 11 targets for over 120 yds and there will be several media types that will either ignore mentioning it, or talk about some runs that could have gone for more yardage if he threw a block.. They will point out his every mistake. Sooner or later you can burn your bridges. Toney burned his before 3 games into his rookie season, and even though he he might be dead right, he comes off as a whiner. If it continues I think we'll see JJ make him pay by riding the bench. Amazing how the WR position continues to produce the most prima donnas... loud mouthed, self promoting, and so damned in love with themselves. Everything is ME, ME, ME. I hope somewhere along the line... and the sooner the better... he gets his dose of humble pie and STFU and lets his play do his talking.

Players should all take a good look at how Jerry Rice conducted himself on and off the field. The epitome of a professional.

What did Toney even say that is triggering so many people? I didn't even understand what he put out there. Can someone decipher it? To me I thought it meant he doesn't care what the media says about him . There are pretty lame. Did I read that wrong?

Everybody here in this board knows I hated the pick to begin with. With that being established, at present time considering the circumstances, I hate Judge and Gettleman a lot more than the pick.😀😀😀😀

Ugh...calling the media clowns. I’d be shocked if this ends well for Toney. He has about 7 bads and no rights, so far. If he doesn’t pan out…the 2020 draft class could go down as one of the worst ever. And we wonder why we are 0-2 .. guys more worried about calling out the media on IG than getting better and helping the team win .. I don’t care whether the media is right or wrong but you haven’t done a single thing for this team yet .. doing this crap will only draw more scrutiny to yourself and the team ..

Well I don’t speak Toney so I don’t understand half the crap he says but this is his second time responding about the media. 1) he clearly cares otherwise he wouldn’t respond to begin with 2) if they’re already getting under his skin after being in NY for about half a second, how much worse will it get if he doesn’t produce? 3) it’s not so much what he said, it’s the fact that he’s done more talking on twitter than producing on the football field I get it, these types of things always split the fan base. Some people don’t care, some people like it and some people don’t like it. I prefer someone who shuts their mouth and does their talking on the field.
