Exactly! That’s not a rebuild To be fair, there were many people on this very forum (and in football land) that thought Derek Carr was not a good QB and that he would be replaced in either last years or this years draft by a new QB. The Raiders tore down the team. Traded top talents like Mack and Cooper for draft picks. Completely rebuilt the OL and DL. And have a new GM and HC. Id say thats a rebuild. The only thing is, Carr is still there because they did it the right way and rebuilt the OL first to help him out. Now he is looking much more like his first couple of years of play instead of the last couple. To me, the Raiders made the right choices while we did not and that is why we are 2-8 and they are 6-4. As I keep saying, next year will be a huge year to see if we are in fact headed the right direction or not. Giants must be at the very least a 8-8 team next year with good QB play to show we are back. Someone last week gave a list of probably 15 to 20 young leftover talent when Gruden took over and it was on one of your guys Gettlemen bashing posts it was silent for a week and your back at it. lol the Raiders had other pieces then Carr OL DBs and LBs, it is nothing like wha is being done here.

I mean, I guess with all this talk that the Raiders had an established QB so its not the same talk, we can talk about the Arizona Cardinals rebuild too. They are clearly better as well. The question is if gettleman really is this tough guy visionary, why didn't he sit Eli a year ago and draft a QB in 2018? No, instead he drafts RB who's performance is declining behind a line that was also gettlemans baby who as a unit are underperforming as well. So Mr tough guy instead appeases some by hanging onto Eli well past his prime, and getting rid of Beckham to show how "tough" he is. I am thinking now he had to get rid of Beckham as he was most likely to call out gettleman for his failings. how do you build the OL you want from scratch in 2 years, when your DL was in need and DBs were in need unfortunately for the Giants they didn't just get to focus on the OL they had other needs as well, LOL OBJ called out NY not just the Giants so now you believe OBJ was bigger then the team, think your buddy might have learned a lesson he was better off here then again he wanted LA and he got Cleveland sad isn't it..

You sound like you love making excuses for the issues on this team. The OL has 5 new members on it from 2 years ago when DG/PS took over the wheel. You told me Solder was just a "stop gap" lineman until they found something better... lol. Nothing like giving a seat warmer the richest contract of all time for an OLineman... DG now has to re-replace 4 of the 5 positions in the OL, outside of Hernandez. Yeah great job.

I can tell you this I'm not really pro Gettlemen and not pro Shurmur but this is way to early to judge in 4 or 5 years if these draft picks are more bust then winners he needs to go, I just understand this mess took years to make and will take 3 to 5 to fix. 5 man line drafting and using free agency can take 3 years if all goes right and should be done no later then 5 if you have a bump in the road which happens. Can't miss every pick you try they need to replace 2 spots for sure and maybe three if possible and draft for the future of both fronts. the first pick Tho would have to be Chase young haven't had a game changer on D since 2011 JPP after that they better find and OL and get another later and hope some foolish team lets a good on get to market.

Exactly! That’s not a rebuild I don't see how it's not a rebuild. Just because Carr was there doesn't change the basic fact they gutted the team and traded a way their best talents on both sides of the ball for draft picks. If Getty didn't construct this terrible defense or maybe fixed the oline nobody would want his head but he failed up to this point. I just find it difficult to call something a total rebuild when you already have the most important player on your roster but it might just be splitting hairs

Yeah great job. #1I said Solder was brought here to buy them time to build this train wreck back up, he was the best tackle on the market at the time without using hindsight give me who you would have brought here. you've said JR "overpaid" when he signed OV but then say Soldier was the best OT on the market, etc etc. Call a spade a spade, it was a reach signing for a GM that has a bad history of signing FA offensive linemen. Soldier was protected by Brady and his quick release before he made the move over here. He was never a good player and Bellichek knew it. Bad signing plain and simple.#2 remembers is a stop gap because they wanted to do some drafting on the defensive side off the ball these are things that have to get done when the whole roster id Garbage. The Roster is garbage, it has DG's handprint all over it now, though. Two drafts with four first round draft picks along with two FA periods is more than enough time to get your core together. You feel comfortable with this core of talent? I sure done#3 how do you build a team if you only draft one position group, lol you act like they had the whole roster and only needed OL, This line has been beat up from day one with Solder and his ankle and Remmers back not being able to hold up they aren's replacing Zietler either see anything to add a little more to it now were cutting really good players lol. Most NFL players are playing hurt on a weekly basis. Zietler, Soldier and Remmers are all on the wrong side of 30 and all have regressed a lot this year. Not exactly an ideal problem for a rebuilding team, particularly with each of their cap hits. I still love that people claim JR "neglected" the OL and OT in particular. How many OT's has Gettlemen drafted so far?

Carr > Jones Betcher stinks so far Gruden> Shurmur not hard to see why the Raiders are better at this point Carr is not better than jones lol. Let’s pump the breaks in the knee jerk reactions. This kid is learning on the fly and should be sitting if we had a competent starter in front of him. Fumbles can and will be fixed. Lamar Jackson fumbled 13 times in 8 games last year. None issue this year. Jones has all the talent. They need to set him up for success which they have failed to do. It wasn’t too long ago that Carr was close to being out in Oakland. no need to pump the brakes at all and I am not making a knee jerk reaction in the least. At "this point" in time Carr is a better NFL QB than Jones. I am huge fan of Jones and think he will become a very good to great NFL QB.

The Giants rebuild I'd completely different. The biggest difference being the Raiders already had a quality QB in place, and one of the leagues best offensive lines.
Having this foundation gives the Raiders a huge leg up if we're trying to compare the rebuilds between the two organizations.
The fact we have Shurmur and friends at the helm doesn't seem to be helping matters, either.
