Really? Who am I claiming is conspiring in my scenario? The so called mob that was upset because Eli was benched and wanted him resonated The "mob" hot what they wanted and it wasn't Eli starting again, Reese and Mac were tbe targets.. Now which is it? I thought the mob wanted Davis Webb. Now you are saying they wanted JR and Mac fired and didn't care about who was the QB.
I'm trying to figure out your claim here.
May I also remind you that much of the organizing of the "mob" was done on the old Giants Message Board. They talked about where to meet and when. My old friend Meyerbud returned to the GMB to take part on that organization. The subject of those protests was anger at John Mara. The goal was to get Eli reinstated. Eli himself made a public comment about how ironic it was that now the fans were in full support of him after being so critical.
I started a thread about how embarrassing it all was and I was shouted down on the MB.
Were you on the old boards? You don't remember any of that?

So the point of this thread ultimately is for you to once again cry about the fans reaction for the the Eli benching in favor of Geno Smith.

I also later made the point that many fans who now hate what's happening now, had a hand in it back in 2017.
But no, the ultimate point is that this organization is stuck in the past and consumed with continuity. All while that continuity represents nothing but losing. But if you want to redefine the thread in order to not face the facts that is up to you.
Whatever makes you feel better.

.I stopped posting on the old boards 2009 ish My own private FB group we didn't mind tbe news that Eli was bring benched at first because we assumed we would be looking at Webb.. All hell broke loose once we found out it was for Geno Smitb.... Yes at that point we had the guillotine out for everyone We were also wanting to see Webb get at least a game or 2 the end of that year as well....didn't happen...

The point in general is the Giants organization has sucked for a decade of bad hires, decisions, and bad luck. Eli Manning hardly has a say in this.

You guys need to check out how the contracts of the three big free agents signings are built. The combined base salary of Adore Jackson, Kenny Golladay and Leonard Williams in 2021 in just $6MM. That's TOTAL between the three. A HUGE amount of guaranteed money goes against the cap in the next two years. Our cap hit for JUST those three players next year is almost $70MM. We had no cap room in 2021 so he had to do this. That is just in 2022. Dave mortgaged our future for 2021. He went on a spending spree this off season to try to buy his way out of this disaster and it's going to hurt our ability to rebuild this team. This isn't just a 2021 problem. We will be paying for this disaster in the future as well. So those players CAN'T be cut and they CAN'T be traded. None of them can be moved until after next season. Their cap hits next season are friggin massive, though, all in the 20-22million range. After or during 2022 season, LW can be cut/traded with only an additional 7.5mill in dead money. Adoree can be cut after 2022 season with 4.5 mill in dead cap. Those two guys are only on 3 year deals anyway. Golladay is another story...

He was graded a 67 I believe for yesterday maybe I saw the wrong Column but he has been grading average to above and 67. Ereck Flowers is a massive failure a former top 10 tackle playing guard at an average level in year 7 on his 5th team. Hernandez is plenty serviceable and never refused to play. His overall grade for 2021 is 60. Flowers was a failure from draft and LT perspective but not at guard. Hernandez was a top 2nd round pick who is playing worse than rookies and guys drafted much lower than him. Hernandez is sub par. I mean I guess slightly below average on this line is plenty serviceable so that part I can’t argue with. A 60 is a good grade this sin't school where a 60 is a D I believe it 's above average. and he has never played the right side before tougher then you might think, I don't think Hernandez has let up a sack and usually doesn't believe what you want he is not a liability and will be a big loss. Vinnie you don't have to hate everything DG has done he is gonna go down with the ship.

I’ll give in a little, Hernandez is decent at best, certainly not worth a high 2nd round draft pick and he’s nowhere close to good. I still lean towards him being slightly below average. I also don’t hate everything DG has done. IMOF, I praised one of his most controversial moves which was getting rid of OBJ. Unfortunately, he couldn’t even do that right and ended up with a massive dead money hit because of his contract which DG had just signed him to. Hmmmm…what else did I like? Martinez seems ok and Thomas has looked good so far this year. I think that pretty much sums it up. Mostly every other move he has done has been horrendous. Let me ask you this, even if you think Hernandez is serviceable at best, is that what you expect from a player where he was drafted?

Gettlemen right now is an issue our coach is an issue I was hoping not. Golladay has a 4 year deal and if he is healthy he will be worth it this team isn't healthy they are better then what we are seeing for sure Gettlemen is heading for the cape after the season maybe before, hopefully Mara doesn't @#$% it up again and hires some one to run the whole thing including the hiring process of the new GM.

I can tell you if they promote from within I will not be watching them until they change direction this is insanity at that point, doing the same thing over and over expecting different result. when the Giants couldn't get out of their own way Roszelle got them to hire George who was an outsider it worked, When George was over whelmed by the changing NFL and the salary cap he did it himself and brought in Accorsi that turned out pretty good he was involved in getting Collins in here and Eli his work contributed to the last 3 Super Bowl appearances it is time to go outside again. I don't know who but it better be someone from a team that builds well like the Ravens they have a ton of injuries but there good at finding good players Giants haven't been good at that for along time, it is time for change , I would look at the Ravens / steelers / Chargers even our rivals in Dallas,

I hope I'm right to, it hasn't been fun being fan of this team for the last 9 or 10 years around mid season 2012. A team that's always finding new lows. think it was 2014 I was happy going to my nieces wedding they are playing a putrid Jaguars team winning like 24 to 3 go in and sneak my redzone on my phone to watch them blow the lead and lose to one of the worst teams in football. I feel the same way today as I did that day I wanted everyone fired from that day on and thats what I want now. I want them to hire an outside consultant to over see the hiring of the GM and coach and stay on for a year or 2 to run things that way ownership is completely hands off.

This isn't a team stuck in the past. This is a disfunctional family business that will never change until it hits their bottom line.
As long as we keep watching games and buying jerseys and attending games nothing will change.
Funny, a friend who has season tickets posted this today:
"Two tix and parking pass available this coming Sunday 10/24 vs the Carolina Panthers. I'll pay you to take them ."
Maybe a hopeful beginning of the end? Literally no one wants to attend a Giants game anymore...

This past Saturday I went to a costume party. Was just lazy and decided to throw on the Barkley jersey and enjoy the views at the party and get some drinks. A guy walks up to me and says "What are you supposed to be, a loser?" Im like wtf? Then I said some BS but in reality I'm like damn. Thats who we are, thats what people think about the Giants. Its a fact we are losers. The next day we proceed to get pummeled on national tv. I thought 2017 was the worst, no this weekend was the worst. At least in 2017 we were coming off of a playoff appearance. Now we were supposed to be years into the rebuilding with tons of draft picks , free agents, oline, and QB, etc. Its like we are in the midst of a black hole and have no clue where we are headed. This is horrible, this is way worse than 2017.

The NY Giants use the first few games in the regular season like an extended preseason. Sad but true.

I can't imagine there was anybody on this board that thought our defense would regress to this level after their performance last year. I give the offense a complete pass due to the injuries. But our D? We are 1-5 in large part because of their underachieving. A few thought they needed to get a couple of solid edge rushers if they were going to take a step forward.. That's looking truer each game.. So many seemed to forget how many bad QBs they played against last season and when they were against a top QB they were beaten bad.. so so true. We need a few key cogs for damn sure to be able to function at all it seems

Maybe use the 2nd pick for a stud 2nd level defender of an olineman..

Not really in any order but I think edge definitely needs to be the priority and would love to see 1 of 2 pics definitely and maybe 2 of first 4.

By the way you Vinny you don't have to give in lol nat every pick reaches there potential this board loved the Hernandez pick and so did several personnel people, The guy loves fighting for his teammates he instigates and he play to the whistle. We will see what happen and who is in here making decisions if it's Abrems I might not watch them anymore till they do things right. Don’t take this personally because it may sound a little brash but I really get sick of hearing about how many fans or analysts liked a pick. I couldn’t care less a pick is love or hated, I care about results and that’s the GM’s responsibility. The draft isn’t a popularity contest and if was as easy as picking the top consensus player for each position than any of us could be a GM. How hard a player plays or his popularity in the locker room is nice and all but I care more about results on the field and Hernandez fails in that category. Hernandez is okay at best but I sure as hell wouldn’t give him an extension.

I'm not taking it personally I followed the Giants drafts since Goerge Young this happens a lot Luke Petigout is an example of the same thing the point is he didn't bust tho he will continue here or else where he is an average to above average starting guard. More don't live up to their draft pedigree then do. Our team or a team can win with Will Hernandez as their stating Guard.

Now we were supposed to be years into the rebuilding with tons of draft picks , free agents, online, and QB, etc. Its like we are in the midst of a black hole and have no clue where we are headed. This is horrible, this is way worse than 2017. In which I would have replied "What is your woman supposed to be, a cow " A better response woulda been, "Your wife didn't think so last night".
