You said once he's on the commisionors list he's done.
He's a first round pick that they traded up for. Of course they will wait to see what happens.
Do you want to make a bet how this ends for Baker?

Thats is a factor for sure but its other things as well. Not every person will do the right thing. In any walk of life. True and while(maybe) not criminal many things are stupid and they still might get the person in trouble ,again while not criminal( that we know of yet) ,definitely stupid to be around a bunch of "questionable character people" its anyone who has a great opportunity, whether in sports or whatever, blatantly putting that opportunity at high risk. There are many factors as why an individual would do this and it inst a simple black and white definition

Do you want to make a bet how this ends for Baker? You will lose....Baker is done. Betting on this guy is like betting on the New Jersey Generals to beat the Harlem Globetrotters.

I should have specified in regards to the Giants salary cap. I don't think that the commissioner's exempt list provides any cap relief. (not 100% sure) The player gets paid until he is cut or suspended by the team or league. I think cap implications are not affected by this status. The biggest impact is that the player is not counted against the 90 man roster while on the list.

I should have specified in regards to the Giants salary cap. He still counts against the cap. But where are you spending his cap money in July if you cut him? Again, it makes zero sense to cut him right now, and even more when he is on the exempt list.

Still can't get over how a bunch of dudes who were supposedly robbed of $12,800 dollars cash, a $18,000 Rolex, $25,000 Hubolt, and $17,500 Audemars Piguet jumped at a chance of a $55,000 payoff... that still leaves them in the red... lol

so you're saying that its OK with a school how illiterate and dumb a kid is as long as he can play good football, if that's true then its on the schools for caring more about their won and loss record on the football field and less about their reputation as an institute of higher learning.. I don't say its ok. But it is not going to change. you're right its not going to change because these kids make money for the schools sports program..

Again, it makes zero sense to cut him right now, and even more when he is on the exempt list. It would be a really stupid move to cut him right now. Baker's Cap hit in 2020 is currently $2.4M, if they cut him, his cap hit would be $7.6M. A $5.2M dollar increase in cap hit. Also, if they cut him and he is innocent, they lost potential talent. Cutting Baker would be borderline idiotic at this point....

What a weird reference... This makes me think of some folks on NFL Sirius suggesting the new name for the Redskins to be the Washington Generals.
A team literally built to try to lose and be humiliated doing it.

probably many lesser known players too Will Hill of the Giants a few years ago was a pretty decent player who just couldn't stop crapping his pants and was finally released, what a shame for an inner city kid to lose an opportunity like that through stupidity.... He blew a chance to make $10's of millions more than he did. He made $5M in his career and could have made $30M - $50M. He blew his chance because he couldn't stop smoking weed. Wow, it amazes me to hear how someone could flush a winning lottery ticket down the toilet to smoke weed. This guy was given chance after chance after chance. I'm surprised him mom, dad or brother didn't shake he and make him realize how dumb he was being....

I would tend to think it would be more involved then that. Either way it happens all the time and not just to kids who come from rough back grounds. Happens in all socioeconomic levels. I grew up middle class and schooled with upper middle class to rich kids too. Lots of people went down the wrong path.

I thought I read somewhere that the league pays him some set amount each week that he's on that list, and it doesn't go against the team's cap.

Did the watches get returned? We’re they even stolen to begin with? I have no problem saying that I have no idea what happened, or what the outcome will be.

I grew up in the middle class as well but I wouldn't necessarily say Will hill went down the wrong path. I'm knew some people who really crashed and burned. Will Hill went to college, he put the work in to make it to the NFL and made a good chunk of money doing it $5 Million. I just can't believe that there wasn't anyone who could get through to him and make him understand that he ALREADY made it, he just needed to clean 1 part of his life up. Crap, if he could have stayed clean for 7 years, he could have done whatever the hell he wanted. It's just sad since he was supremely talented and wasted his talent.....

I've know several people who grew up in "good homes" etc and didnt make it. Lots of factors involved sometimes
